Love seeing the 9200 back in your barn! Looking good! I’m excited to see how the 9200 pulls the new field cultivator. And also excited to see another video on the work done on the 9200.

Im kinda waiting to get the bill before i do the video about the repairs. Im not sure when but its gotta go back to get a leak fixed unfortunately. Hoping to limp it thru spring work

What a sweet rig. I hope you and your boys have a safe and wonderful spring
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Thanks. I appreciate that, you have a good safe spring as well

That will cover some ground. Best of luck.
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Yeah it should make easy work of it so long as the tractor behaves lol

Looking mint! What a great find and buy. Our 980 was delivered to us in Spring 2002 as well...only a 26'r though. We've switched to no-till and zone-till so it's sat in our shed for the past 5 years. Boy you certainly have that 9200 in tip-top shape...beautiful tractor. Are those BKT's on it?
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
I was pretty excited to find it. I remember my neighbors buying a 30 footer about that same time. Out of curiosity, do you have any idea what they cost back then? The 9200 hopefully is done costing me for awhile. Its gotta go back sometime to fix a slow leak on the front end unfortunately though. I cant remember the brand but they are very similar to bkt's

Did you consider putting the knock ons on it when you had to change them all?
@onehappyfarmer34619 ай бұрын
I don’t know why anyone would put knock offs on. What’s the fun of that??? I enjoy fighting the nuts and bolts on each shovel, especially when they get worn down so bad the bolt head slips in the shovel while trying to take them off.
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
They are the john deere knock ons with the little spring deal. If they didn't come with the deal i wouldve just put bolt on nichols honestly. Gives the boys something to do lol

Sweet find. I think you just need to get another tractor and pull both cultivators. Them boys could race
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Suprisingly it wasnt as high priced as some others that weren't near as nice. Guess you gotta luck out every once and awhile. I think with my luck with tractors i will just hook up the old 3 point to the 4020 and let em race lol

Bought a new 980 44', was a good unit. Watch the hinge points, they do like to crack. I always felt they were built to light in that area. They flow trash much better than a 960, and have more down pressure on the shanks. I had it for 10 years or so, ran about 2000 acres of bean stubble a year through it. Had no issues besides the hinges. Dont try a new JD soil finisher you wont go back to a field cultivator. They got me a demo one and we never looked back...
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
I looked at a pile of them and almost every single early one had cracks in the right front. Then the newer ones they added gussets. I looked at some 2200's and holy crap every one of those had cracks on every single joint

Looking forwards to seeing the tractor and cultivator in the field! Did they turn up, the engine at all while they had it? Gonna add any wheel weights to it now?
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Just new injectors is all. Honestly its ballast good and doesn't slip much so i think i will leave it for now

I pulled a 46.5 ft. cultivator with my 9200 that was programmed at 360hp
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
I bet that made it grunt. What did you have to program it?
@Derek_00Mustang839 ай бұрын
Basically a 9300 lol
@JeffZutz9 ай бұрын
It was just a programmer plug in not sure of the make. But it did make a big difference in power and the tractor handled it fine for many years before we traded it for a 9520 which we put a Steinbeur on to basically make it a 9620+@@iafarmer

Yep.@@Derek_00Mustang83

Not sure of the brand of programmer but it made a big difference, Never had any issues with it. Bought a 9520 and put a Steinbauer on it to make it a 9620+@@iafarmer

It will mighty interesting to see this outfit in work because I guess to do a real good job it has to be pulled at a fair lick, perhaps 8 -10 kms per hour. Can / does the frame flex at all to cope with uneven ground? Dan
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Yeah thats a good speed for it id say. They wings have a decent amout of flex
@gleanerk9 ай бұрын
Very nice setup! Will be less time in field prep! It alto pull it just fine .
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Thanks scott. Should be a really nice upgrade and be a little more efficient

980 looks brand new
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Yeah its crazy. Its one of those deals even though i had a plan in place, the plan got thrown out the window real quick lol
@jaredklug35029 ай бұрын
Should be just fine. We use a 40 foot dmi with a 75c cat which is close in horsepower to your tractor at 6.5 mph.
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
It pulls it but it doesn't run away with it. Maybe its the new shovels making it pull hard idk. Does a really nice job tho
@onehappyfarmer34619 ай бұрын
I about lost it when you said he bought a mulch finisher so he didn’t use this as much. And he was running over 200 acres a year. You will find a way to pull the whole 42 ft. lol. You can’t go smaller once you go bigger. 😂😂😂
@iafarmer9 ай бұрын
Lol yeah i about fell over when i got to look at it and heard the whole story. It was advertised as low acres but holy crap i wasnt expecting that
@TheGrumpyFarmer9 ай бұрын
New toy and a kind of new toy back again 😄
