I have had a pair of these for around 2 years now. I have redwing and other brands as well but I seem to come back to these the most. I will say that they killed my feet for about 3 weeks to break them in but now they're great

I have been wearing a pair of the 8" wedge Heritage Tobacco leather Thorogood boots for the last 5 years. Got them because I work on concreate in a manufacturing plant due to back and knee issues. Shortly after wearing them, most of my pain went away. They are the most comfortable boots I have worn. Looking at the 8" 1957s to replace mine. They have seen better days... Thanks for the great video!

I started wearing georgia boots. I loved the comfort of the georgias. I always wanted a pair of REDWINGS so i went out and bought Irish setters. Wow that boot was not comfortable. So i decided to buy a real pair of redwings. The 1907. Never finished breaking them in before i just gave them away to a friend. That boot hurt me every second i wore it. THOROGOOD Has been a boot sent from heaven.

Damn u got shit luck. I have redwing dynaforces insulated for the winter and these thorogoods (but brown) for the summer. Theyre insanely comfortable but the lack of insulation and waterproofing isn't ideal for winter or fall

have had the 8" waterproof pair of these now for 10 months of constant daily wear. i do on average 10 miles a day worth of walking and have fallen in love with them. I'm british, 6,3 (190cm) weighing around 107kg/ 240lbs with pretty chunky feet. usually i buy a 11 UK but the regular D width US size 12's fit me perfectly. i'm not gunna lie i found these boots to be hard work to wear in. i found they will beat your feet up if you go at them too hard but after around 3 weeks they're absolutely perfect. fit like a glove. now theye're my go to shoe, all the house work gets done in them and so does the missus if she's a lucky girl! i try to maintain them best i can but have neglected them over the summer this year a little. However! they're still holding out and look to have years of life left! Thing is, i work with water and sometimes if i stand in puddles for extended periods i do notice marginal wetting of my toes but when treated with mink oil this doesn't happen at all. The sole is clunky to begin with if you aren't used to such a thick wedge and extended works crouching down will make the steel toe move up slightly within the lining. this causes the toe to stick up when you return to standing upright which is fairly comical but not hard to reverse. After 10 months the wedge is worn quite far and i'm looking to have them resoled soon. (i used to be a cobbler) which is interesting because like you said, when these wedges wear down they're dangerous in the wet. i stacked it the other day and looked like a right cunt on the floor in front of the lads. SO, i'm gunna take them to my ex-boss' shop and probably look at swapping out the wedge for a commando sole and heel unit instead. i think that may be a good way round it, then buy another pair of these for the summer prehaps? The only other nit pick would be the excess material on the tongue causing mild irritation in the first days as the leather won't always lay flat and will instead crease at one area. now mine has a permanent wear crease i can't feel it at all. Like i said before, they're perfect! i fucking love them! to put it simply, these are the real deal and highly recommend them. after all, they give you a dominating presence, you'll be the envy of your peers and women can't help but find you irresistible too. You can count yourself lucky that they're water proof too cause you'll be ankle deep in creamy box batter in no time with these bad boys! Thorogood or fuck-off

Really like the review. I’m an auto body tech and I just started searching for a new boot for summer and I like the style of these but I’ve never owned this brand before. My question is what’s the sizing like compared to tennis shoes? Say a Nike? Do these run big or small or pretty much spot on? Meaning if I wear a 10 should I order a 10 or go up or down a size? For work, I wear Carhartt Rigby Dungaree (What I am wearing in the video) and for casual I wear Detroit Denim CO. both in relaxed fit and are very comfortable for somebody with my build of basically large thighs, calves, and ass... lol

I think it's insanity that customers keep buying the white/cream color soles. Vibram or any other sole supplier should never make it in this color, black only... Will look filthy in 2 minutes.

If you KNOW you walk on your heels, then you NEED boots with a heel lift and high arch to push your shoulders in and distribute your body weight so you walk correctly. Also if your red wings dried out you should probably fucking condition them lmao, that's user error not red wings. Break in periods on these boots depend on the leather, thorogood is a friendly boot because the leather is tumbled and oiled, some red wings are just full grain leather hence break in. Pair of boots that don't require any break in will never fit you as well or mold as well to your foot as stiff leather. Just because it's comfortable right away isn't a positive, it's just convenient for your instant gratification.

And just because boots are comfortable up front, doesn't mean they don't have a better fit over time. Obviously, you're no golfer or you'd know the name ecco well. They make some of the best golf shoes on the market.
