I agree other than the 60v batteries. They truly suck. I've had 4-5 completely die on me and are unusable. My company has a 60v hammer drill with the 12ah, one is basically dead and only charges to 2 bars and dies very fast. I was thinking since I sometimes use my 60v batteries on my 20v tools it takes a toll on it switching back and forth but the 12.0 stays on the 60v hammer drill only and it's dying. My 5ah power stack is a beast I love it. It lasts over a month on my impact only.

i don't have any Milwaukee tools, but battery technology has come a long way in the past 10 years and beyond. All the major tool manufacturers have their own versions of PowerStack and PowerPack now. i think the PowerPack is more for that extra umph on power demanding tools and the PowerStacks (Milwaukee = Forge) has good power too, but i think they cost more because they last 3x-4x more power charge cycles.

Also how well they stand behind their warranty is insane! Just got 2 brand new batteries just by calling them and 15 minutes later had new batteries approved and on the way! 1:33 “Compared to its predecessor, the FlexVolt DCD999...” The DCD999 is not FlexVolt. It’s also one of two predecessors, since the DCD998 and DCD999 are essentially the same drill sold in two configurations at different retailers (Lowe’s PowerDetect and Home Depot’s FlexVolt Advantage). Despite one mentioning FlexVolt, both are 20V Max XR tools like the previous DCD996. Neither actually prefer the batteries they are marketed with since both perform better with a 6AH XR or 5AH PowerStack.
@america70825 ай бұрын
yeah like you mentioned it’s the same drill so why does the guy have to mention both
@John-7712 ай бұрын
Watch the "torque test channel" The flexvolt advantage dcd999 out preforms the power detect dcd998. They are identical as far as looks but truly not the same. Also "20v max" is the power it's designed for and XR is extra run time, meaning brushless usually.
@emmettturner94522 ай бұрын
@John-771 TTC’s PowerDetect vs. FlexVolt Advantage testing is exactly what I am referencing when I point out that neither drill prefers their bundled battery and both perform better with a DCB206 or DCBP520. That said, the DCB609 (9AH FlexVolt) battery would perform even better than the DCB206 since it has an extra bank of the same high-current Samsung INR21700-30T cells. Furthermore, TTC’s DCD998 vs. DCD999 results were the one exception where the PowerDetect model came out slightly ahead of FlexVolt Advantage, so you got that backwards. Both drills have XR badging as does the DCD996. The DCB206 has since dropped XR badging in recent months and the DCBP520 has gained it but they are both the same batteries they previously were.
@emmettturner94522 ай бұрын
@@John-771 Oh: TTC literally quotes me in it. ;) To quote them, both tools performed “about the same” with their included batteries. Both preferred the DCB206 over their included batteries, and the DCD998 PowerDetect squeaked into the lead once unbounded by the 40T cells they just disparaged in today’s 8AH PowerPack video (DCB206’s 30T cells are higher-current).

@robertsmith3518 Not entirely true. The cells that are in these batteries aren't made by Dewalt, I presume they're made by Panasonic, Samsung or.... The Chinese knock-offs use inferior cells that are just as good in the first few charges, after that these cells deteriorate a lot faster as the quality cells. Not saying these cells aren't overpriced but you somewhat get what you pay for. Same goes for Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch,...

I got some knockoff batteries, identical counterfeits to Dewalt 6ah flexvolts. Even brand new, they died long before my well-used genuine Dewalt batteries did. They did not have Panasonic or Samsung cells like Dewalts do. The circuit board was also far less complex than genuine ones, which makes me suspect they don't have fire and short protections either. Regardless, I will stick with OEM batteries from now on.
