Stuff like this is the reason I run support companions. I'll gladly run a Spined Devil, Intellect Devourer, and Dedicated Squire on a DPS character then having to deal with Cryptic nuking the living heck out of striker companions..... The people who spent their hard earned cash maxing out CiW, Xuna, BiP, etc. didn't deserve this.

I think it’s rather annoying seeing nothing but xuna everywhere I go in neverwinter, I’m happy she got nerfed, she was way too OP. CiW was arguable, and BiP was also arguable, but xuna should’ve been nerfed regardless

Wouldn’t it be much simpler to give all companions the same base damage? Surely this would seem a lot simpler and more effective? That way people can chooose bolsters accordingly like we do anyway and then choose their most favourite looking comp to summon?

Im done trying to keep up. Ive been on since Mod 9 on ps4. Ive always been 2k-6k behind max IL. I get runs done as Dps, Healer and Tank. Most players will shut you down for not being maxxed out stat or for not having gear set up they insist to believe you need to have. Ill still get end game content done without being Maxxed out atats and having the BiS gear

I got my xuna in jumaa few weeks ago, one day before they nerfed air archon, so it was free but it still was costly to upgrade it and i feel super sad about this nerf

I love investing a TON of resources into Xuna just for them to nerf her to a bottom barrel pick that does as much dmg to dummies as a man at arms... I get nerfing her, I don't have a problem with that. But I'm a casual player struggling to get to end game and now she's not even a viable companion... I basically spent 9 mil AD on companion bolster st this point...

i dont get the xune nerf, her aoe dmg was not based on multiple single target hits with bloodbath, meaning it could not come close to actualy aoe compannions other than always hitting, i hope the number of hits bloodbath does goes up if they are going to nerf her that much. Also the facking slap in the face, after having half a year with zen based sales to get the compannion, then nerfing her... I have seen companies sued over less and won...

All my characters have an Epic Githyanki Warrior, so that will be nerfed next. The main disadvantage is the Githyanki's knockback. {:-:-:}

Is Dedicated Squire healing affected by the damage nerfs? I would in most cases "outheal" the healer on leaderboards just by having him summoned in a trial, so it'll disappointing to not have that extra survivability just in case I need it.

If the numbers on the nerf stay that low, they have done the exact opposite of what they needed to. All they need to do is bring ALL Striker companions within a range of say 15-20K based on the numbers on Aragons table (They would obviously use their own metrics...) Hopefully they have not completed the changes before going to live. The current BiS on live could remain that way, but just at a lower range of damage output across the board, bringing the high and low outputs to something far closer than a range of something stupid like the 2K to 33K range it currently is. That way there can always be a "Best in Slot" for the people who need to be told what to use, so they know what to chase after, but running something else would not put you ridiculously behind the curve. And at 15-20K they wouldn't be doing so much of the heavy lifting, forcing players to build their actual character, rather than buying a bunch of Indomitable Runestones and considering it "job done". I would so love to use my Yojimbo. (That was a premium Zen Buy!) I love the character, love the movies... to me it's as cool as having "Jon Snow" as a companion would be... but sadly, Kurasawa's bad ass Ronin is a f*&^ing TERRIBLE fighter in Faerun. His name LITERALLY MEANS "Body Guard" but he couldn't guard a pie on a window ledge from an assault by a lame cat!

The change wasn't to bring the extreme results into a more average range. The numbers for Aragon's tests are against single target. The companions that got nerfed are meant to deal damage against multiple targets. This would be like the top damage encounter powers against a single target are all Area of Effect powers. You wouldn't make the AoE powers midrange damage against single targets. They are usually some of the lowest damage outputs against a single target.

@@istanon I was speaking generally about bringing attacking companions closer together so that a few don't have wildly more damage than others. That way they won;t need to keeping nerfing the ones that are so ridiculously overpowered. (And even if they do, they don't need to nerf them into becoming utterly useless) Sorry if I didn;t break it down specifically into how AoE should have a closer range togther that is seperate from a rnage of ST when each is focused on a specific type of ecounter. I was simply using Aragons numbers as an example to show that closer parity would mean the BiS stuff would still be easily identifiable to those who need to be told what to use, while allowing people who want to play the GAME to use things that they like based on something other than damage output and not be left behind by a stupid f*&$ing META that requires no skill to follow.

Cold Iron Warrior has dropped from First Place to 110th? That is absolutely indefensible. 33k EncDPS to 5.7k? Why? What could possibly justify it? They always do this. When Lostmauth set went for millions, they didn't fix it until sales had dropped off, then they nerfed it into uselessness. Rinse and Repeat, all the time. No one is forced to go back to using augmanet pets. Between mods 17 to 19 i had limited to no augment pets. Even as a got some augmented pets i still like having combat pets out fighting or supporting the sitting out looking pretty doing nothing to help combat or support.
