i spend about 6k and got Trunks 3 times and 0 cell have 12k left, decided to stop and be satisfied with my gains since i dont wanna spend potentially 12k for a new Cell that isnt anything special or at worst get shafted and not even get him. Edit: Decided to go for 1 last 3k and as soon as i spend 1k more cc i got Cell so totally spent 7k to get Trunks 7* and Cell 4* so glad i decided to go for 1 more.

Trunks imo is better in a long run since he has one of the best teams and especially in this meta since he is purple and counters Rose and works with Rose plus he has 2 cover changes for the rush, in terms of damage both Cell and Trunks deal great damage and can ignore cover change as well as having card draw speed the only thing that cell does very good is that he has very nice healings to sustain himself for longer than Trunks which i wish Trunks had atleast some.

I threw a rotation and in the last 1000cc he gave me 2 copies of the trunk but before I had seen and tried the character after I threw the free one I restarted the game and when I threw the other 1000cc he gave me the new cell and I was left with 9000cc of crystals mode full savings for the anniversary ❤

Tip: if a sparking appears and it doesn't have the skip button, it's a new unit(as in one you don't have) so look out for that and don't disappoint yourself when you pull the wrong lf

If you need a good future unit then yes, cell is pretty tanky and heals, trunks is pretty bad defense wise, not as bad as some other characters but his damage and his abilities are really good, trunks and vegeta are both good for god ki and future
