They are, but train systems were better. Big tire companies spent millions buying train routes that weren't used much. Then they tore up the track, and sold off the land. Sometimes at a loss. All in the name of trucking, and the sale of lots of truck tires! They destroyed the train system out of pure greed! America at its worst!

albert epidendio The people voted with their feet. They were not showing up at the train terminals. It's the old story. If you don't use it you loose it. The trains can't keep going if nobody wants to use the services. Everybody loves the trucks. OK. The people have spoken.

If you dont run cali run from cummins...500k mile motors and cummins fights worse than cat on warranty...there is a reason you see so many used trucks with 350k to 450k miles traded in and why you can buy a 10 to 15 year newer truck cheaper than a older pre emissions

Kenworth T6 series is the only way to fly. I ran a T600 for years. It had a Cat with an 18 speed. That truck took care of me and I took care of it. Never let me down on the road, but I always made sure It got anything it needed. You can't go wrong with it, just make money.

Like a old trucker once told me...chrome and a fancy paint job don't put food on the table. Brokers dont care if u drive a show truck, all they concerned about can a load be delivered on time by a reliable truck.

I am not a trucker, but I had uncles and cousins who were. A step-son drives short trips right now to be at home at night with his wife. My oldest brother used to be a trucker driving long distances. It bothered his back and had to quit. I assume the newer trucks ride a lot better. I hope anyway for you. Enjoy following your story as truck drivers.

I hope you get the rig. If you don't, please take measure... it's a truck. There will be others. You both already found the most precious of life's treasures (each other). I stare at an unchanging cubicle wall 50 hours per week, for a meager paycheck, and I see my wife 2 hours a day (at best). All of this... within our "massive" 50 mile radius of existence. --- Stay safe and savor every day together. --- Please keep making videos.

Please keep us up to date on your truck hunting. I wasn't trying to be a smart ass about that truck because that is a lot of money for one. They didn't tell me the price but wow they are proud of that thing. That is getting into W900L and Pet 389 prices. I love the ant eater though and really want that big sleeper..... Good luck driver and let me know if I can help you any. I have been looking hard for the past couple of months for one but I would prefer another W900L like I have now but not a deal breaker if it is a T660. The W900L like the fuel but the ride is great man. I have owned my W900L since 2005 and it has the Cat 6NZ that has cost me out the butt on rebuilds. It has 1.2 million and has been rebuilt now 3 times and the last time was a out of frame complete rebuild with block getting reworked so hopeful that will do it for a while. Cat rebuilt the thing and it made it about 50 miles home a to get loaded another 150 mile trip and about 10 miles from the office it locked up completely. It has spun the crank and cam bearings and they had to pay for all of that but it was down for 2.5 months and losing that income hurts. Thankfully I had one still running.... They don't understand that we have to pay the bills just the same it doesn't matter if the truck isn't making any.......

Chris Guess I would prefer a w900L also but the 660 is basically the same except for the hood and a slightly set back front axle with a sharper turn radius. It's lighter weight but the amenities in cab are the same as a w9

What can you expect mileage out of that truck? Can you expect a million if you take care of it and keep up on maintenance? I have only ever heavy haul locally for my company and don't put tons of miles on trucks because they get tore up way faster than long haul.

For otr truck i take old freightliner classic over any kw or pete...more room and i can easily change things up to add a dependable fridge and more usable storage. Plus no step and way more head room. Local a pete or a classic...

just some advise... take it as you want it. you may want talk to someone that has a cummins isx in a 2016 before buying one. nothing but major problems.

super stupid it was the higher horsepower ones that had the most problems. they generated too much heat, that combined with idle caused major failures. heads etc.... even with emissions delete some had the same issues.
