What I love is that you bought a truck to work it and haul stuff. To many people buy a truck just to haul their egos around. That is a nice truck and that Duramax will last you a long time. You worked hard for it, so turn on the seat heaters and enjoy the heck out of it!

Good choice, I just bought a GMC 1500 myself and will be using it for the same reasons as you. So far I am in love with it. I didn't need all the bells and whistles that it has, but it doesn't hurt to have them! Happy Birthday as well!

towin that load of round bales is the real descent test for that truck... it ain't anywhere close to a heavy load for it, but it is a descently hefty load, and that is a very nice truck... when ur using it as much as you are, those comforts are nice to have

I've installed a B&W gooseneck ball on my 2012 Chevy 3500 and love it. Works well and was not a big deal to install. Thr short box is nice to help keep the weight on the rear wheels when you aren't hauling anything.

Good purchase Ryan. Who cares what other people think. You did what you thought was best for you and your business. That truck will last the rest of your life (because it's a gm product)! Along with the fifth wheel I'd recommend a back rack with an led light pod facing backwards. And hitch wise we have a B&W ball that you can flip over when you don't need it. Happy Birthday!

Well, Happy Birthday. That's a very nice looking truck. That's what I'd call a "Look pretty go to town truck" with the option package you bought on it. As you stated tho, you have no intention of getting rid of it & I understand that thought process. I myself have bought new trucks & kept them for several years before getting a replacement. Main thing is, you know what you got with the new truck & warranty, whereas the used beater truck you may just be buying someone else's junk / headache. Stay safe.

I would recommend a shock absorbing hitch if your going to be doing a lot of towing around the farm. They are well worth it. Can't say I agree with the short box but that is your decision. Happy birthday.

Ryan just for thought look into a set of air bags that you can adjust for the rearend. Will save wear and tear on your truck and suspension system and will allow you to adjust the ride of the vehicle when pulling heavier loads. I have a set on mine and love them for towing. Not to mention everyday driving.

That's a sharp looking truck! I don't want to come off being overly critical but I would recommend that you mind the speed when towing the tedder as it appears that model has the smaller transport wheels. Small wheels equals really high bearing and tire speed and it can come apart on you. Enjoy that new truck and happy birthday.

Look into Xpel for the front end of your new truck! It will prevent any rock chips as the paint on new trucks chip really easily due to new EPA regulations!

hey Ryan some good tires are the (master craft courser mxt) they are not huge mudding tires and they handle great in any condition. we have used them for close to ten years on all three of our trucks and if you get stuck with these tires then your really stuck. but consider looking these tires up and also Firestone has a tire very similar that we have also used. but if you ever do get any the taller and skinnier work the best
