NEW TULUM AIRPORT 2024 WHAT TO EXPECT NOT CANCUN MEXICO

Last year december was my 20th trip, cancun, transfer to akumal drove down that damn highway lol. I saw the train almost being completed and i knew this airport was coming. I'm hopeful this year ill be avoiding cancun and the highway finally!!!! Thanks for the video this is just awesome for everyone who is a tourist or a local !

It is some nice architecture. They will need more seating at the gates. But I do fear the future. First, it’s only a matter of time before the timeshare crooks and taxi mafia get their claws in and the arrival area gets blocked off. Then we’ll have to run a gauntlet of them to get to the outside. Next, There’s a maximum of 12 gates. It won’t be long before the prices skyrocket for planes to land, and ticket prices increase accordingly. Finally, my travel time from TQO to the Bahia Principe took right at an hour. 20 minutes of the was grinding traffic in Tulum. This will only get worse. But until all that comes to be the experience is a massive improvement over CUN.

That is a beautiful airport. I'm going to fly in there soon. I hate that it isn't more crowded. From Dallas to Mexico this is great!

Sorry, I missed the part with the taxi and rental car scammers. 😂 Looks great and worth it to avoid the CUN traffic and crowds. $269 one way from lax on first check. Hope the resorts' shuttles will service, private vans are steep on thetulumairport website.

I did some basic research and found the legitimate transfer companies are operating at their usual rates. I had no trouble booking one. No place can hold a candle to Cancun AirPort when it comes to scamming.

Cost was in-line with Cancun transfer costs. It’s still an evolving situation.

Is there an area to sit before going through immigration? I have a flight there in January and plan on waiting on my friends who arrive on a different flight so we can go through immigration together.

No, there isn’t and you will not be allowed to delay before going through immigration and customs. It is a security concern, not anyone being rude. You can wait after Immigration Customs.

This may depend on from where you are traveling. I am from the US and am not required to fill out any forms for immigration. I only present my passport. If I have nothing to declare at Customs, no forms there either.
