It'll get used if that detachment rule gets updated. Maybe a couple of stratagems adjusted, but especially the attachment rule.

Tbh, Crusher Stampede could possibly use a minor nerf. Or maybe a lateral adjustment? I run 3 flyrants w/ scything talons, a Dimacheron, and a Barbed Heiradule as my main combat units, with an Emissary, 4 termagaunt squads and a hormagaunt squad for objectives or small skirmishing respectively. Typically speaking, my opponents don't have the type of ability to split fire effectively enough to deal with stompy things AND objective takers. And by the time they have their units positioned appropriately to deal with something important, the combat units in my list are already hitting better and harder AND they don't have enough units left to deal with everything at the same time. Then there's the Tyrannofex w/rupture cannon for anti heavy that hits on a 2+ after taking a single point of damage, a Screamer for demoralizing and potentially butchering infantry, and a Scythed Hieradule specifically for charging anything that can reliably deal with low toughness units (for example, Militarum Hellhounds or SM Terminators/Dreadnoughts). Keep the warlord (Tyrant w/ Stranglethorn Cannon) in the mid to back providing fire support against anything that pushes up, while keeping it alive longer by attaching it to a 5 man squad of Tyrant Guard. Yeah it's almost 3k exact, but with only 6 of the units having multiple models in them, it's super easy to keep track of everything. And with the tyrant and flyrants all benefiting from the detachment rule, it's almost too overwhelming for opponents to deal with unless they're experienced enough to not let themselves get overwhelmed (Edit: correcting my own grammar)

Invasion Swarm does big monsters best... So you can still play Stampede without actually playing Stampede. Which is sad actually..😢

They need to chill on the pts increase on the gargoyles. Them being 5 pts more than deathleaper is WILD

Gargs are way, way better than Deathleaper. They are the best battleline unit in the entire game, hands down.

I agree, gargoyles are still pretty damn good value - even if they are slightly less tempting to spam in your army - overall a bit of a flavor loss, but it pushes us to consider our other battleline gribblies. Still wish we had better rules for the underperforming portion of our range (RIP big bugs), but at least we’re not a dead in the water like Admech or heck*ing Deathwatch.

For assimilation swarm i think a big block of tyrant guard should be considered, especially if you bring swarmlord. They are incredibly tanky for the price now, although damage output is a bit mediocre

And that strat with hem each unit you kill will bring one back. So you can get 3 tyrant guards back if you get a regen off a u it you control dies with in 6" and you kill a unit. Then on your opponents turn you can get 2 back. Give you a total of 5 tyrant guard a turn

I ran a vanguard onslaught list in a tournament right before this update and if you don't have two brood Lords with 10 genestlers to actually deal damage. You're missing out. 6. Von Ryan's is cool but overall damage output is bad I run them in three mans to harass and move block early or hop off the board to do secondaries

Thanks for the lists! Assimilation swarm has such a really cool/unique playstyle and approach for Nids, I'm excited to see it! But the problem for me is that it's really restrictive on which units benefit and that can get expensive trying to fnd, paint and field all those multiples of them hahaha 😅

I've been going 4-x with my vanguard list ever since genestealers point reduction. I dont even use gargoyals. I feel if I was better with my cp management I could go undefeated.

Hey- I had some wild success with a very diffrent take on assimilation swarm over the last weekend. The Entire Idea behind is: Tyrant Guard - you can get a full model back per Regen - You can attach a Hive Tyrant to Regen one Tyrant Guard for Free every turn. I am tempted to even run this brick twice now - its just very tough to remove I feel - exspecially with the regen and the FNP - And you got 2 really good Relic Options - +1 Attack and Strength makes / Fight First + Heroic Intervene for Free are both incredibly good on Hive Tyrants so they do better than the Swarmlord imo. I personally ended up with Instinctive Defense on the Hive Tyrant and Biomorphology on a Neuro Tyrant - both leading 6 man Squads.

These lists look pretty fun... I look forward to seeing what they can do. But with that said, I'm feeling the seductive pull of Grimdark Future by One Page Rules, so maybe we'll have another balance dataslate before I return to 10th... Have you guys tried that yet? I'd be interested to hear how tournament level players feel about the game!

I still take a melee foot hive tyrant over the swarm Lord because it gives assault to weapons in range and can March at pace, it also has more attacks total.

Irresistible will is a good synaptic nexus stratagem. Re-roll 1s to hit and wound is useful. Especially since i dont have exocrines yet.

I just want to make sure I'm not missing something, the Swarmlord gives u 1 extra CP per round not turn right. I noticed it was said per turn in another of ur videos and I'm just wondering did they changed it from "your" command phase to "each"?

Correct. You gain the extra 1 in your command phase and only your command phase.

7:26 you should really try HIVE GUARD with the assimilation swarm...... I know there horrible you would spit on them but hear me out, they have 4 wounds and you can regen a whole model pure phase, you learn the tricks of the swarm and you can get upwards of 12 wounds back a combat round! So unless there willing to charged elte eight bound into hive guard

Well you don't want parasite because your rocking swarm lord and he's your warlord. You only ever want the parasite to hide your warlord if your taking the fight first hive tyrant and going for that endless regen in your opponents frontline using there only battle tactics on both turns.

Synaptic Nexus wants dub Norns and zero Exocrines. IWill gives RR1’s to hit & W!! AoC on a 2+/4++/5+++ Norn is great primary! Dub Malecepror bodyguards. 9-18 Zoey’s (6+3 minimum). I might be tempted to try to slot a Psychophage to absorb a lot of the initial opposing fire before establishing mid control.

For Assimilation i liked the idea of a walking tyrant with Guards and the Instinctive Defence Enhancement. What do you thing about that?

I think it could be good! I'm just not sold at all on the damage output of the guard.

Make sure you pack the tyrant guards with scythe talons and rending claws for the mass 1 dam attacks to clear out big hordes of units. Plus 30 attacks with lethal hits is pretty good

Assimilation rule needs to change to just being in range of an objective and not control of the objective.

I've literally maxed out every game I play with them, whipped imperial knights, out fought world eaters and killed argon twice easy. If you changed the rules it would literally break them cause how meny wounds you get pur regen and each regen brings you 2" closer to the enemy
