Bissell Pro series is amazing! So fun to extract all the gunk! Great for the car as well. I always try to remember "clean enough to be healthy, messy enough to be happy". With my health challenges, tiny bites are all I can do. But 5 minutes of decluttering is more than not at all!

This video was so helpful. Interested in the Bissell machine but not sure which cleaning solution would be best if you don't have pets.
@bcgrote3 жыл бұрын
@@emo44 I've used it without solution, just hot water. You can also just spray on some of your favorite household cleaner, like Clorox Cleanup or Resolve cleaner on a carpet, especially on spots. Then just extract it really well. Leaving soap in fabric makes it attract dirt more easily, so you always want to "rinse" it well, until you don't see suds in the clear extractor head, and then use it without putting water in (with the trigger on the machine) to suck the water out. Then it will dry really fast. There is a spot machine that you just set on the dirty area and it scrubs it for you, but I like using the extractor process because I can SEE it getting the dirt and water out. Super satisfying!

Wow! Looks fantastic! Treasure hunt in the freezer challenge is on! The tallest six shelf metal shelving units at Lowes will give you better, wider, taller, stronger storage than the plastic shelves you have right now in your garage. They are about $80 bucks a piece, so wait for the sales. There are also wonderful lockable wheels that you can buy for those metal shelves which allow you to move them around easily. The shelves hold very heavy weight. I love mine. Don't get the painted black ones= paint chips. Also, I put hooks down my back porch wall in four rows to hold my seasonal door wreaths and decorations. It looks really cute and uses the vertical space well. Compliments from my neighbor too! A nice plus! You worked hard and the space looks great! One last request, before you give plastic toys away, please wash and disinfect them. Thank you. All kids are our kids!

I love that your ultimate clean video focuses on "good enough" cleaning. My grandma is a perfectionist and cleans everything, I mean every piece of furniture gets the pledge treatment at least once a week. I've never been able to keep up with her standards- that said she was retired before I was born and perhaps back in her 40 hours a week day, her standards were different. If you try to hold to her standards you'll never start. If you hold to good enough, you'll go far!

Here is my tip: I keep an old hand towel by the door that I use to clean muddy paws when I take my furbaby out for walks. She loves to walk in the mud!! When we are ready to come back inside I grab the towel and start wiping off her paws. I realize that there is a vast difference in sizes of our dogs but you just make them stay right at the door and wait until they have their paws wiped.

We do it even when the paws are dry but filled with sand or dust everyday and now our dog doesn't enter the house unless we clean his paws.

@@sirichendanapulasan5117 It's funny how they get used to it and it becomes their routine. They stand there & wait for it :)

@@JamieM470 I do this with my dogs too, because one has allergies. Once when I ran the other one down without her brother she waited and refused to come inside until I wiped her paws, even though it wasn't technically necessary for her.
@akamelrod88724 жыл бұрын
@@JamieM470 it is funny how they get used to it. I say "feet for treat" (shortened from: let me wipe your feet and you'll get a treat) and the dog knows to sit and he lets me wipe all 4 paws ... then he gets his treat!

We use our older ratty towels as "dog towels" and do the same. Or dogs love to be dried off after the rain.

Also this is a good reason to go through all your stuff and declutter and get rid of things that aren't important so when you are dead your kids don't have to do it. 😉 We had to do that with my mother-in-law's home many years ago and then my parents home about 3 years ago and now we are doing the final sort through with my aunt's belongings. My aunt never married and she lived for 80 years in her childhood home. So we've done a lot of sorting through and separating out things with my siblings and honestly I don't want my kids to have to go through a lot of junk. There's a lot of really neat things that we have from my parents and also my grandparents. We have some things that came from Sweden with my great grandparents. Those are real treasures. My daughter wants me to label everything who it belonged to where it came from what is important. I only want to keep the things that are important and make it easy for my kids. So I still have a lot of decluttering and cleaning out to do and I plan to get it done over the next few months. So hang in there everybody and just do what you can today and do a little bit tomorrow and don't worry about perfection. But keep decluttering!

I am so so thankful for you! Here’s why...often when I watch YT videos, I feel like, “What’s the point of de-cluttering/cleaning like that when I know that it’s just going to get cluttered/dirty again?” Then I see that you have to do this multiple times as well and I realize...”okay, I am not the only one!” Thank you for always inspiring me!!

I wish I had your videos 20 years ago..... I’m 43 now. At 35 I was finally diagnosed with mental illness. I’m bi polar and I have severe anxiety and ocd. I have been with my husband since I was 17. We met at our local mall when I was working at a gift shop called Luv. M husband has seen me through 4 suicide attempts and years of self hatred and depression. I feel like if I had special videos like yours all those years ago........ I would have loved myself more to want to get better and not hate myself so much that I wished not to be on Earth anymore. I have watched you for the last 6 years. You are amazing and God bless you for all the accepting words you share every week. You touch so many hearts. Hugs from Indiana ❤️

We found we do a great purge twice a year. We have also found by doing this we tend to buy stuff we really don't need. We also have a large old basket that we toss things we want to donate. So when we go out to the store we drop off donations on the way.

And now after finding out I had cervical cancer while I was pregnant of my 3 rd baby seeing her videos gave me a push and motivation to get up and keep fighting and keep going !!! I love her sweet voice and humble heart !

Ha Ha....my family moved a lot and after most of the food was packed up....the last meal at the old residence was also called the "mystery" meal....consisting of the last can that wouldn't fit in a box and whatever extremely few items were still in the refrigerator..........many of those meals were not so great.....but a few were amazing ones I still make! (of course we "should have" planned for those meals....but in all the years, we NEVER did! Ha Ha! We just let fate choose!

@@user-jy3zl2vp4b - Those memories are more important than the food. But, when you eat just one single item from those times, you'll think back to when you'd were young & crazy. Ensuring, that for the rest of _both_ of your long happy lives, nothing in this world that you could _ever_ imagine, above all else..... sucks more than moving house! 😂😂😂 Have a fantastic weekend.🤗

I just did a clean out of my refrigerator because I had to throw away almost everything due to Hurricane Sally hitting my area. We lost power for almost a day and did not want to chance keeping things. I was not able to salvage things because I had outpatient surgery the morning before Sally hit and had to stay at my son's to recuperate. We were flooded in there aftet Sally hit, but we made it through. I waited till tonight to clean my fridge because I was waiting to see what direction Huuricane Delta was going. Kathryn, I want you to know that after cleaning tonight I searched for you on youtube because you are such an inspiration. I have shared your 80/20 rule and cleaning for good enough with my daughter-in-law and this has helped her so much. She has felt so much stress with all that has been going on: hurricanes; home-schooling my grandchildren ages 16, 13, and 8; and packing up to move to a new house at the end of this month. She is a perfectionist at heart, but is easing into your words and feeling good about herself. Thank you for all you do! We love you! 💝

Such a great and healthy way to approach cleaning and organizing. I think of people like my son who deal with anxiety and depression. Having clutter and unclean spaces can exacerbate both of those issues. But then the idea of perfection makes the tasks seem too overwhelming and impossible to tackle. "Good enough" is giving yourself permission to not be perfect! Imagine the ways we can apply that to so many areas of life! Healthy eating and exercise, as another example.
