Really good info in my situation or my past situation. Hopefully sounds like there are also more options with the update LC control adjustable RPM LC on the fly. Looks like the tuner will have to set this stuff up in the tune but super cool, I'll take it.

Now I don't know if this is VR30 Q50-60 features but I'm seeing app adjustments for 1. Traction Control min/max 2. ability in app to turn LC on/off 3. control boost 1st gear (boost by gear) turn up/turn down. 4. Control boost per gear 2nd gear +/-. States in note (these parameters are tuner specific) having some actual adjustability with TC would blow my mind! There's other stuff too! Dove in further into the details/reading and TC app control is not a feature for the Nissan VR30TT but boost control in the app is, hopefully that means the boost by gear adjustability with a slider 1st gear and 2nd gear.

I just got a 93 tune from z1 and I’m seeing -8 degree correction timing....

If it's ignition timing per cyclinder or an average it's not super worrisome from what I've been informed. The tuner sets up a lot of different parameters and safety built in per my tuner Hussain at Racebox. Z1 is a respected tuner so I don't feel you have a lot to worry about but reach out to them for what they have to say. The timing being pulled is the car's ecu logic protecting itsself which is normal based off variables its seeing. This is a good thing. Some things that lead to retarding ignition are driving while hot temps outside, may be related to high CAT temp if not running a aftermarket HX, also could be bad gas/lower grade of fuel that got pumped into your car's tank. These things are a good thing to keep an eye on. Most I've seen during pretty hot days is -4/-4.5 maybe -5 general ignition timing but is during just driving around and not running the car hard. What you really want to keep an eye on and put as a main parameter on your Ecutek phone app screen is engine knock. I set mine up so when the engine could see cylinder knocking my screen flashes red along with the negative number. Engine knock can be catastrophic under full-throttle continuous use. Why I have this parameter front and center plus lager in scale to the others on my main phone screen when racing around. You can drive around safely at casual levels with negative ignition timing. Just don't want to see under wide open throttle or should be moving to the +positive side of the parameter.

@@GettingthruLife nice thanks man. Z1 just got back to me and informed me that it’s definitely bad gas and to not fill up at this particular stations anymore. They’re probably selling 91 and saying it’s 93. Could have blown my motor if I didn’t watch this video! I was using this station for 3 weeks driving semi hard too:/ hopefully no real damage but definitely scary to see -9 degree correction after I set up the dashboard like you said. Thanks for the video bro U saved me a swap

I think I've gotten cheap gas when it was played off as 93. Definitely something to watch on your ecutek app when getting into the throttle. Also keep an eye on possible knock when it's cold outside and pushing your car or maybe that while running ethanol blends e-30. The most power when +2, +3 maybe +4 ignition timing.

@@hectordeleon7859 Your car's ecu was doing its best to counteract the detected cylinder knocking to protect itself from damage. Z1 being a more conservative tuner likely had more leeway built into the ecu tune so that it could be more aggressive and pull 8 degrees of timing. A more strung out tune pushing more power might have caused some damage like a bent rod or bearing wear. Pretty easy to keep an eye on this stuff in the app if you educate yourself so less likely to push the motor at the wrong time/situation. A helpful tool to use. Just drive your car more casual until you get some of that fuel out of your tank and then fill up with good 93. Or can find a e85 pump and put 2 gallons of that in tank along with the 87 thats in there just to get the octane up. I've heard from knowledgeable people that putting 2-2.5 gallons of e30, e55, e70 what you can get, doing this every once in awhile cleans out the motor, maybe carbon buildup or what not, I'm not 100% clear on full details. 2 gallons mixed in with almost full tank of 93. Maybe like once every 2-3 month's. No power gain unless tuned for e-fuel precentage. The website datazap is a cool resource to upload your under 3-4 minute datalogs and see all you logged parameters on a graph timeline. Can see things more clearly and according to the other parameters at tge same time. Example CAT, CACT, turbo boost psi, ignition timing, gear indicator, and throttle position, vehicle mph. How they function together..

My tuning situation is confusing and not a normal situation. In short, I paid 1k to Jotech Motorsports in 2019. Bought the Ecutek license through Jotech $495 I think and then $500 to Jotech to dyno tune my car. They are not far from me, 5 min, Garland TX. As in the video I stated jotech didn't include a ecutek specific laptop USB key. They used their shops Ecutek lic key when tuning my car inperson. Approx 4-5 months later I wasn't happy with jotech process/tune so I contacted Hussain from face book 1 yr 6-7 months ago. Since I already had bought Ecutek lic for my particular car, I didn't need to repurchase that. Hussain retuned my for $460.00 for 93 fuel and my mods. Downside, I still didn't have a PC laptop or laptop USB ecutek lic key. To upload his tune to my car I had to find other Hussain/Racebox Q50 users in my area to upload Hussain's tune to my car. It sucked doing this, very time consuming and not practical but found some nice people willing to help me. Today Racebox tunes are more expensive. I don't know exact pricing for Racebox, AMS or Z1 but expect to pay between 1,400 to 1,700 for 93 octane tunes. Maybe more for 93 and flex fuel/E30-E70. You can get remote tuned from your home and it works well. Likely better then in person dyno tune but both ways will work. You pay the money after contacting your tuner of your choice, then they send you a base tune in your email. Now you use your phone with the latest ecutek app registered to your car to upload base tune to your q50-60 Bluetooth dongle that mailed to you from tuner. Next, tuner tells you the process then you go out on the open road and run your car while dataloging those specific runs he wants. Once complete, you email back those datalog files stored in the Ecutek phone app. You do that 5-6 more times and email/receive tune revisions until your tuner feels your car is good and you like the way it performs and drives. Hope that helps you understand more about process and cost.
