*NEW* Update on US Routes/Content in Train Sim World 5! (MBTA Commuter)

So basically part of the Boston & Albany Line is coming to Train Sim World 5. This could spawn the Amtrak GE P42DC Genesis diesel locomotive and single-level long-distance Amtrak passenger cars that Amtrak uses on trains like the Lake Shore Limited as DLC. As for future sections of the Northeast Corridor for Train Sim World 5 or later, I predict it's going to be a section between New York and Providence and not Trenton to Washington. Specifically, I believe New York to New Haven will be the next section since New York to New Rochelle was done before in Train Sim World 2020 but is not supported for Train Sim World 2 and beyond. Also, the Metro-North partnership will help secure this prediction since Metro-North serves that part of the route and with this new route hopping feature in the game, that makes it much more likely that new routes for the game from Dovetail Games will connect to existing ones so you can use that feature. If you have the New York to Trenton section of the Northeast Corridor or the Harlem Line or both, you can then take advantage of that feature.

I wish the MTA would work with dovetail more so we could get the MNRR Newhaven line to add to the NEC. Or the nyc subway system.

Hopefully we get some good US freight but we might have to wait a while, railroads such as Union Pacific and BNSF have a bad taste in their mouths after railfans have derailed their trains for clout.

And also a side note if they do add freight can they PLEASE layer in Norfolk southern as well and not just CSXs sand patch grade. The area that the route runs on is known as CSAO(Conrail shared assets) so you'd see power from both roads running the route

@@WJP1361We need more NS and CSX routes for that matter If BNSF and UP don’t want to give their licensing rights to DTG (which I’m fine with, we already have enough of those two for now), then DTG needs to focus on the other two railroads who each have one route now (technically three for CSX but without customization this doesn’t apply to players, just AI)

Hsp46 have been around since I was kid, I’ve been in a few. I’m super excited for this route, Worcester line is fun. Great video. CSX is on the freight on the Worcester they are a weird company. Not sure they’ll have good quality freight to be honest. The MP36PH-3C in Mbta livery are in rebuild at wabtec-Erie. They are supposedly on sale and haven’t been used since 2020 or 21 I think.

This is great news with the relationship with MBTA and this route is going to be an awesome addition. I really like the first MBTA route. I also like this one they chose because I've driven a lot of areas along this commuter line over the years. I assume they probably scoped out other routes when they were on the trip with MBTA for a future route. I hope that NJ Transit would one day have Dovetail out for a similar ride the rails as they quite a few other lines from the NY to Trenton route that would be really awesome to have in the game.

Idk if anyone else feels this way but I think the prime of TSW was in December 2018 when we got the original editor stream. The game just felt like it had so much potential at that time, and also seemed like the devs cared more. The game just feels like a cash grab now and heavily favors two countries, as opposed to the original alternating release schedule. DLC just isn’t worth it unless it’s heavily discounted

Fr! I think the next thing dovetail should do is Trenton to Philly, including SEPTA's main line to Glenside, the West Trenton Line, and possibly the Fox Chase Line. With the new route hopping option for Train Sim World 5, people will be able to operate directly from Philadelphia to New York. The next thing after that I guess would be Philadelphia to Washington (including the NEC, SEPTA's Wilmington, Wawa, and Airport Lines, and MARC's Penn Line), or Philadelphia to Wilmington/Newark and Wilmington to Washington (as 2 separate routes), or Philadelphia--Baltimore and Baltimore--Washington. I believe this is a great option because Dovetail would already have a prototype for MARC's rolling stock (using existing MBTA and CalTrain equipment), and Septa and Marc would connect at Newark Station. However I would suggest waiting until Newark Station is finished. Or an alternative would be Philadelphia to Lancaster, or Philadelphia to Coatesville on the Keystone Corridor. This would include Amtrak's Keystone and Pennsylvanian services, and Septa's Thorndale (soon to be Coatesville), and Cynwyd Lines. It would also include Septa's Main Line up to Suburban Station, or Wayne Junction. All 3 of these services, especially the West Trenton Line, have freight lines operating nearby or sharing tracks with Septa and Amtrak, which could also be included in the routes. Dovetail if you see this, please consider!

i literally work for csx out of framingham it would be so easy for them there is alot of trains that go in and out of framingham yard and csx uses all the same technology as mbta we uses access and cab signals

there are 3 yard jobs out of framingham two that stay in framingham one goes to boston to the old beacon park they are literally the same as the engines they gave to us in the oak point route there are two trains that go to the framingham secondary one goes up to lemonster and one that works out of westboro as a switcher and the l002 that works taking the trsin from selkirk into framingham it would literally be so easy the only wide cabs that are allowed passed worcester are the 400 series im heartbroken

DTG cant get into freight trains, meanwhile railroaders just letting railfans get cabrides 😂 honestly I think DTG should just add one new engine for tye route for freight if they could, like a brand new GP40-3 or a SD40-3, or some for of that for switching and the local freight on there, just adds something new and something to work with, if I could make mods for the game I so would 😂 even the new CSX SD23T4 would be pretty cool

its really not that hard to get ref material for stuff there mostly lazy i have so much shit i can give them freight wise and passenger wise they dont per say like receiving free ref material i have over 40 gb of locomotive operation manuals and photos and a bunch of other rare stuff its not all that hard to find

The lack of cab signals in freight is going to pose a problem if any of those services are playable. Almost all the freight is between Framingham and Worcester which is cab signal territory only. Without cab signals, you could easily ram into the rear of another train or run a Stop signal.
