@@JaseAlva Tattoo numbing cream is wonderful for people who avoid doctors and shots. I spent 30 years away from doctors until a friend told me about lidocaine creams and sprays. I tried it and survived the injection without passing out or feeling the entry. Now I use it every time I go to the doctor. So far, I have had 5 injections and a blood draw with no passing out or nausea. It is a shame these creams are not more widely publicized.

Great content bro. I usually go without numbing, but I'm glad this conversation is happening. Making it easier for more people to get tattoos is surely great for your industry. More people having tattoos also lessens the taboo around tattoos. Although I have witnessed it being more accepted as the years go on.

Thanks Delta I really appreciate it I’m here to have a conversation haha hopefully not just break the taboo behind tattoos but the taboo within the industry of numbing cream being used at all. I think a lot of the heat towards it just comes from not understanding how to use it but we’re definitely moving forward in breaking a lot of the taboo surrounding the industry. I have recently used Numb 27. It was fantastic. I applied before I went to my session. It lasted about 3+ hours then tapered off. I wish I would have had Bactine because once the numbing cream wore off it went from 0-11 as far as pain. This was on an inner bicep tattoo. I ended up tapping out about 5 hours. So now i have to go back to finish the white and touchups. It was my first time using a cream and it was pretty impressive.

Make sure you follow all the steps and properly cover in Saran Wrap so the cream doesn’t dry and soaks in properly. And if you take a break, you can soak your tattoo in bactene and wrap it up to take the edge off but only if it’s marked it and it won’t affect your stencil. For neck tattoos just focus on your breathing and make sure not to love involuntarily. Make sure you use your hands to signal if your gonna sneeze or cough and never talk because it’ll make everything move. Good sleep well make a huge difference on those really painful areas make sure you get enough.

@@rickiefeatherstone yeah dude! I ended up using Tattoo Numbing Cream Co. I did three sessions totaling about 10 hours total. It worked really well. Made the pain much more bearable for about 3 hours before it wore off. Best thing to do is apply the cream, wrap with plastic wrap for about 90 minutes to keep it from drying, and then removing. We had no issues at all. My artist said that he typically only has issues with numbing agents when they’re “gels” because it makes the skin sticky and hard to tattoo. The stuff I used made my skin red but ultimately took the tattoo extremely well. My entire stomach is done thanks to it. Like I've heard some artist say they aren't comfortable with tattooing someone that had applied cream cause it can make the ski texture sorta rubbery and the ink becomes harder to get in the skin. 2nd) if I'm nervous to put any cream on, will using the tattoo roller (to open the pores up) and then maybe apply some numbing tattoo foam or bactine on the area before my session help a little or change yhe texture of my skin?

Can you use dr numb in large areas I’ve heard it’s bad but I have a thigh piece I need to finish
@JaseAlva2 жыл бұрын
Hi Marissa I’ve used it on a couple thighs before and I’ve never had a problem with larger areas. The only thing that I can say you need to factor in is the fact that if the area is big enough that it’s gonna take a long time, one side of the tattoo might not be numb by the time you get to it. Last time I tattooed that way we got through most of the line work with her sitting very well but it wore off towards the end so we set up another session to fill in all the color but for that same reason I recommend the Bactene spray that you can use to kind of keep you going to the last bit of it if you need it. Something you can also try if your tattoo is already marked in and you don’t need a stencil is, you can cover it with the cream and saran wrap and just kind of unwrap it as you go so that the rest of it stays numb until you get to it. Good luck on your next tattoo session I hope it all goes well and you don’t feel much. Come back and let me know how it goes, people like to read the updates to compare and contrast so they can be ready for their experience. Thanks Alva

@JaseAlva2 жыл бұрын
Hi Gian usually as the artist if I’m going to take a bathroom break or if the client is going to take a quick one I spray it enough so that it’s damp but not dripping and don’t wrap it BUT if we’re going to take a 10 to 15 minute break or up to 30 minutes to lunch I will spray it and wrap it with the saran wrap so that it doesn’t dry and it’ll continue to work and soak in until we get back to it, you just have to be careful that none of it gets on the purple stencil because it will wipe it away. You can also use the Bactine during the healing phase to help with the itchiness which is probably one of my favorite ways of using it but I’ll have more details on that hopefully in the next week or two in my new video on proper healing make sure to come back and check it out brother and let us know how your tattoo experience went using these products best of luck on your tattoo endeavors Much love Alva

At first they offered me a discount for my next purchase but I was very adamant about not having to go that route having already paid and waited for my package. I was a little agitated at the whole experience to begin with but after having and using the product I was willing to let it go being that it was totally worth it. Not sure if you contacted them yet but I’ll go ahead and post the email here and hopefully it helps you get to the bottom of it I believe the person to contact is Emily. info@tattoonumbingcream.com.au Let me know how it goes I would love to hear an update even more so after you’ve had a chance to use the product thank you and best of luck.

Hey! I asked my artist at our consultation if he was cool with me using numbing cream and he said yes, but that it only works when the skin is broken. So he wants to do a little work and then apply some, but if its supposed to be applied 1.5-2 hours before hand then that wouldn't work at all; maybe the last two hours of my session lol I'm planning on bringing both cream and spray, but what should I do?

Would dermablast work? Would it be the equivalent of bactine?

I use that one when I first started tattooing but in my experience, it tends to make the area a little sticky so I wouldn’t recommend it, but it does have similar active ingredients as Bactine I believe.

Hi there, I just bought a numbing spray. I recently just finished the outline but we never used any numbing stuff. so my question is, I'm coming back in about a month and we will be doing shading by then. I'm pretty sure my broken skin/wound will be close by then. How am I gonna apply the numbing spray to make it work if wound is already close? Thanks! I sat for 5 hours and the pain was killing me slowly for my lower half leg japanese sleeve. Just wanna make it more comfortable for me when I do my shading in a month.

Would you recommend bactine wipes as well?
@JaseAlva3 жыл бұрын
I can’t speak from experience because I haven’t used them myself but they seem like a really good idea you would probably have to ask your artist though just because Bactine tends to wipe away the stencil so they might have to be extra careful and only wipe the areas that they’re currently working on.

@JaseAlva3 жыл бұрын
@@KreativeitGirl OK what are usually do if the client can’t take it is spray them with the bactene and then wrap it in saran wrap so that it really soaks in if I’m working on a large piece and I already got the tattoo blocked in or lined depending on the design what I usually do is put a napkin over it and drenche in Bactine then place the saran wrap over that give it about 10 to 15 minutes and when you come back to it usually they’re able to sit much much better.

Still not sure if numbing cream is worth it. I’ve only ever had a 1 hour session and now I’m getting a half leg sleeve from hip to right at/below knee and I’m not sure if it’s worth getting numbing cream. I don’t want to have a negative reaction to it and ruin the long wait for the session.
@RecklesslyWild2 жыл бұрын
If your artist is comfortable using that cream and has used it before I would say definitely go for it just because the bend of the knee tends to be pretty intense so it’ll definitely give you about an hour to two hours to get ahead of the game on that tattoo afterwards you can move to using the Bactene on breaks

Sorry haven’t tried that one so I can’t speak from experience but if it had 5 percent or mode of either lidocaine or benzocaine it should work fine as long as you follow the steps in my video Best of luck Alva

Okay so.. I’ve got a 6 hour chest tattoo booked in the next couple of months and I’m completely nervous! I’ve had my back tattooed almost over a year ago and i used the ‘tattoo numbing cream’ for that because it was my first medium tattoo and I was petrified at the time! I’ve also had my thigh and half a sleeve done this year without any numbing creams but this time for my chest I’m super nervous! Will these tips work for a 6 hour chest piece? 🥺
@JaseAlva3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chanice I can’t say for sure everyone’s tolerance to the numbing creams and sprays is a little different but if you follow all of the steps it should at worst get you about an hour in at best get you three hours in using the cream and then you could start spraying the bactene to help the rest of the way if the artist is comfortable with that you can spray the area with the bactene and cover it with saran wrap so that it’s soaks in while you’re taking bathroom breaks but make sure your at the rightstep of the way so the bactene doesn’t erase the stencil. The bactene helps take the edge off. -always ask the artist ahead of time if its okay. Best of luck on your chest piece. What are you gonna get? Let me know how it goes.

@@JaseAlva my tattoo artist is totally fine with us using numbing creams if we feel more comfortable about the sit in which I’m totally grateful about 😂 I have a decent pain tolerance so I should be okay up until the 4/5 hour where I’ll start getting agitated 😅 Thank you for all your help! I’m grateful for as much tips I can get to make it more tolerable for that amount of time 😅 I’ll have to Dm you a design idea of what I’m getting done! x

@Chanice Martin how did it go? I'm about to sit for a 6 hrs chest piece? I've had my peck tattoo without cream and it was deff painful so I was thinking about trying some cream this time around since it's gunna be a longer session.
@dk87023 жыл бұрын
Hey Jase, I have an 8 hour session coming up. Do you think it’s safe to apply the numbing cream multiple times in one session? Like before the session and in the middle. Thanks!
@JaseAlva3 жыл бұрын
Hi DK so the problem that presents itself with the cream is that it has to be wiped off before you place the stencil and after you place the stencil you cannot reapply because it all make the stencil itself come off the best options I see if possible would be to break the tattoo into two separate sessions but I don’t like to do that so the next option would be to use the Bactene which I suggested in the video that you can use during the process but you can only apply it to skin that has already been worked over but not the sections that have stencil on it, what I usually do when I take breaks is a spray down the area that has already been worked over and no longer has stencil and wrap it in saran wrap helping it soak in and making the rest of the tattoo a lot more bearable. I wish you the best of luck and remember to not tense up just let your body go loose and focus on your breathing making sure it’s always steady and if you have some headphones blast that music, close your eyes in zone out. If you really need it take some painkillers with out caffeine or aspirin so some Tylenol would be good. Much love.
