The cost of living is getting higher here yes. But I would still encourage people to come. Especially skilled workers. They can go to the Atlantic provinces and places other than Ontario where the cost of living is a bit more affordable.

Greetings from Jamaica. for the spousal open work permit. itsn't September 2024 before they stop issuing the SOWP to undergraduate programs etc...and its still ongoing. and they still havent finalize it as yet?

As of Jan 22, 2023, only spouses of students studying at a Masters or PHD level will be eligible for open work permits. I haven’t seen any other updates regarding that

They announced it in January an but it's effective September 1st. My opinion is it's still a risk for persons who are trying to beat the date.....the cap is already in effect though so that's another hurdle... imagine applying trying to beat the other rules and your the 360,001 applicant 🫢

Even persons who came before this news are finding it hard to qualify for PR programs.... well in Ontario at least, so its definitely not the time to come here
