This is beautiful! I have 4c hair and even if I tried this, my hair would still shrink a lot. I noticed that you had shrinkage but once you put the gel in, it didn't shrink as much. I am wondering what texture hair you have.i wished mine would stay this length

I wouldn’t do it yourself if you’re not sure but you’ll know what to cut by how it looks at the ends. You wanna cut the “stringy” looking parts. They’ll be straight when the rest of your wet hair is curly. I hope that makes sense

I dust my ends about every two months and that makes the curls very happy. You can look at the ends and see the raggedy pieces that need to come off.
