In April, the brand new bus factory from VDL opened in Roeselare, Belgium. The new factory will produce the next gen of the VDL Citea, and will only make 100% electric buses.

I en tøff tid i bussbransjen, velger VDL å bygge ny bussfabrikk i Europa. Andre selskap flytter produksjonen østover eller til og med ut av kontinentet. VDL velger å tro på Europeisk byggekvalitet, og ønsker å beholde arbeidsplasser i eget område. Vi har kommet på innsiden av denne nye fabrikken som kun skal bygge elektriske busser av Next Gen Citea.

Nice looking factory! As far as I know, VDL was trying to buy Van Hools Bus segment or already has bought it, I am curious what is going to happen to Van Hool :/ and their not so long ago released coach lineup.

That is in the country where I live, Belgium. My origin is Sri Lanka. Since a week (10/04/2024), Belgium no more own bus brand Van Hool which was bunkrupted. That is very pity. But VDL also has good buses, but they give some disruptions, such as: doors who can not close well. So the drives have to try to close the doors more times.

For the doors, i think is the sensibility of captors, Citaros has same problems.

Nice brand. I liked it when I was using bus to travel through cities. Very impressive busses and very comfortable. Best thing is that keeps it in Europe.❤

I know that the swedish company Nobina have buy the all new Citea, Nobina have buy 4 buses to Västtrafik. But the delivery is late of the buses so i guess that the buses will be but in traffic this summer?

@@bussmagasinet1 Yeah i think so that's the first buses to Scandinavian of the all new Citea. EBS and Hermes in the Netherlands allready have the new Citea in traffic.

PACCAR should take over VanHool. They already use PACCAR powertrains.

More accurate: VDLs coach buses use DAF/Paccar engines. VDLs (last remaining) diesel citybus uses a Cummins engine.
