Hils Ron😀👍

Marcopolos are top class busses! They're the market leader here in Uruguay and for good reason, they get great drivetrain/chassis combos, they're really well put together and really comfortable. You can just eat kilometers in those massive seats

100 years and still looks inferior to european coaches
@crabbymilton3908 күн бұрын
At least North American coaches have automatic transmissions as standard equipment. If they would look like the European coaches people would complain about that too. Donald Rumsfeld always said if you try to please everybody, somebody’s not going to like it.

No 2nd exit, split windshield, bathroom on top, no back window. Why do north American buses have these standards? Even the Mercedes Benz tourider is horrible!!
@crabbymilton3908 күн бұрын
@@unovox A second exit would eat up more passenger space. Single piece windshield has its pros and cons. At least with split windshields, you don’t have to replace the whole thing if there’s a crack. Rest room on top? I don’t recall a restroom on the roof. Some things work for Europe and some things work better in America.

It has now become clear that the overall quality of the bus has proven to be shit. Very expensive for the companies to run and such a pain in the ass for the people who have to drive these on a daily basis. Stuff just breaks down like they where made of cardboard. Electric buses are two decades away from the quality of their diesel equivalents. They are like communism; a good idea turned to shit. Cheaply made out of low quality materials and poorly put together.

The passenger seats of the 21st century Kabus city buses are very soft and comfortable. In my opinion, they are the best seats I have come across. I don't know much about buses or cars in general, but Kabus buses are my special favorites. These buses seem to be becoming less and less frequent, but it is in Lahti that I have still been able to travel occasionally on this brand of bus this year. Thank you very much for this video!

Person from Göteborg here, where we now have many, many of these articulated MAN buses running, for a couple years now actually. Initial rollout was a bit bumpy, the buses seemed somewhat buggy, the doors in particular did not want to work very well. Never a good sign when the driver has to re-boot the bus (!!!) to be able to drive off from the bus stop! 😅They were also extremely hot inside that first summer, I think they deliberately skimped on the AC to test how the batteries were performing - which felt a bit weird, since we'd had electric Volvo buses for several years already which could keep quite pleasant temps indoors even in summertime (it's rarely exactly ideal temp inside a city bus on a hot day, since the doors open so often.) Anyway - that's gotten better as time went by. Reliability too. :D Heat in the winter hasn't been an issue - our buses seem to be equipped with fuel-burning heaters, so indoors temp is pretty toasty and warm, except when the doors open at a bus stop of course... D'oh! A few quirks with these buses is that the entrance is low-step, but most of the seats themselves are raised quite a bit off the floor of the central aisle - I suppose that's where the battery modules are placed - under the floor of the seats - and it makes it a bit difficult for elderly people or those with mobility issues to get in and out of their seats. Volvo sticks the battery modules up on the roof, meaning the seats aren't raised so high, that seems an overall better solution to me. They also have an anti-roll system for the suspension to keep the higher center of gravity from being an issue I believe. Another quirk is they're fairly noisy inside actually - not anywhere near diesel engine level of course, but there's definitely quite a bit of noise coming from the drivetrain and particularly in the rear of the bus, and to my ear they seem a bit noisier than a Volvo electric bus. Outside it's not bad at all though - you barely hear them from 50 meters away, which you definitely can't say about a stinking diesel horker! :D Most of the sound outside is tire noise, which you can't really do much about. Final quirk is with the depot charging, or so I suspect anyway - since these MANs don't have a pantograph they can't charge while on the route like Volvo buses can, so this driving to and from the depot seems to cause some timing hiccups - fairly often you have two - and sometimes three! - buses coming right after one another, and then there's a big gap to the next. I hope the future can smooth that out, battery technology is moving FAST these days and more range would lead to less need for charging breaks. Performance is friggin awesome by the way. The 4WD drive system gives awesome acceleration, and these buses easily keep up with cars, even when driving up steep hills! Gogo electric powa yeeeaaahhh! :D

Not comfortable and not driver friendly at all for everyday drive. We have to stretch forward to reach the door buttons and that 300 times a day. Every button you need is far away from your body. Every time i go down after 8-9 hours drive i have back pains. They have ro at least redesign the door buttons and bring them closer to driver's body.
