Honestly, I would recommend using a respirator when working with anything resin, as well as gloves. Resin that has not hardened, gives off fumes that aren't good for your lungs. Doesn't matter if its UV type or epoxy type.
@MissMyah376 ай бұрын
Hmmm… I have made lots of resin inside with an unventilated area… no wonder I am not at 110% breathing.. (didn’t mean to be rude) :(
@oliverer32 күн бұрын
@@MissMyah37It's also worth noting that repeated skin contact with resins and epoxies can make you develop severe contact allergies. So it's not just bad to breathe but touching it bare handed is bad as well.

This is pretty much like what I used to do my nails with, you do your nails with “Solid gel” putting a clear full cover tip on top and it’s what bonds it to your nail! But doing my nails for five years and touching the gel a little bit here, and there made me all allergic to it.. I can no longer get my nails done!

This'll be legitimately useful for filling holes in model kits I build and stuff like that.
@kaizo005510 ай бұрын
You should look into polyester putty for that! It’s meant for filling holes and sculpting.
@shitalya19 ай бұрын
@@kaizo0055 if you're working with resin kits that including clear parts this is the better option. I'm using UV resin for that for years but it always was a problem to fill gaps. UV could be used like 2k putty. for holes I'd still prefer liquid uv resin.

The only resin material I saw in a similar package on AliExpress, aside from nail gel, was "dipping UV resin", but judging from seller videos it's still quite liquid. Perhaps something you should try in a future video?

Looks like the solid gel we use for nails, the one you used(the white one) is plastiline gel and usually they don't really have a smell to them, I would probably put the entire thing under a big uv lamp bc (and I can only speak about the plastiline gel) uncured gel is not safe to touch and in the long run will cause allergies or dermatitis

No offense, but I don’t think you should be advertising temu products to children! A lot of their ingredients aren’t listed and the chances of getting chemical burns/allergic reactions is way higher with their site. It is cheap, but I don’t think it’s the safest route for crafting. Just my opinion!!

Also how unsafe their site is with stealing data and their impact on the environment and use of child slaves

It takes forever to ship from overseas, too. I don't know about you but if i have an idea that I'm excited about working on, I'd rather pay more to have it arrive in a few days on a truck, than wait months or possibly never get it from all the way across the pacific on a huge boat or freight plane. (I'm in the US so shipping times might vary when you live somewhere else)

hi, im not too informed about clay specifically, but i am a nail artist and i often use this kind of clear gels (clays) to sculpt on my nails. maybe if you search for this you can find a brand that sells this sort of thing that suits you, but as far as i know, it’s always sold in very small quantities because nails are tiny:))
@Izzy-cp8yt10 ай бұрын
@@fadeddahlia I'm only looking to use it to make a ring for myself, so I don't need much lol but thank you for this! Do you have any brands you recommend?
@mhcttd10 ай бұрын
can you explain the Temu thing pls ?😭 even Joanna is defending them and saying that nothing has been proven
@Izzy-cp8yt10 ай бұрын
@@mhcttd well on a basic level, anything that sells that cheap, like wish or shein, is inherently unethical, especially when selling things like crocheted items, which HAVE to be made by hand (big US brands like Target are guilty of this, too). It's impossible for a product like this to be sold for less than $20-$40 USD and still be ethical - I buy liquid UV resin, and a quantity similar to this would run me about $20-$25 USD. Given that this is a specialized item that seems to be highly limited in production, I would expect it to be even more expensive. On top of that, Temu has been very shady in their marketing and business practices. In the beginning they claimed they were selling things in a different way than others, which was why their prices were so low - this was later proven false, and they use the same suppliers as Wish and similar companies. Their environmental impact is horrendous, on top of everything else, and there have already been lawsuits about mishandled private information. I've also heard from a number of people that their customer service is virtually nonexistent, and it's not uncommon for things to take exorbitantly long to ship, never ship at all, or be the wrong item when they arrive - Temu does nothing about this, meaning you're risking getting scammed out of your money with every order. As a finally cheery on top, they've started using AI for their marketing. I'm personally against this, as it means they can avoid paying artists and instead use AI images that were created using stolen artwork scraped from the internet. Whether or not anything has been proven...well, there have been reports being filed almost since Temu's inception, which are all over the internet. But besides that, between the inherently unethical practices of companies that follow similar/identical business models and countless experiences from real people, I choose to believe that over giving a corporate entity the benefit of the doubt.
