But if the character in rokoko wil seat or lays down in this case character in iclone will have this problem ( twist pilvax) . This is problem for FBX and for live stream from rokoko to iclone... I even set up a dedicated router for the workstation and iphone, which I use for my Rokoko suit, but that didn't make much of a difference. Do you know if there are any settings differences between the iPhone and the iPad? Definitely not getting the sweet smooth action you got.

Another great video! Do you have a preference for the shoulder rig vs the Gamevice? I assume the shoulder rig is more stable but Gamevice more handy. But I haven’t been able to find the Gamevice; seems discontinued.

Yea I like the more natural movements of the shoulder rig but the Gamevice is nice for getting a handheld look. Yea I was just looking into getting a new Gamevice for the new iPads coming out and noticed they seem to have gone out of business which is a shame was hoping they would improve on the device.

if you have the gamevice on the ipad and then mount it on the shoulder mount would you be able to use regular motion and then turn on the gamevice (if lets say you needed to move quickly to another location in scene) and then back to the regular motion on shoulder mount? What you can do is at Unicast Endpoint to your computer's IP address with :6666 after the ip. Still working on my own problem with the UI not showing up on the Ipad.

I found a way to fix this. Unfortunately, I immediately warn you that in addition to this method, the engine constantly crashes when recording in a new or old way (perhaps not related to this). To fix this you need to do the following: Disable "IsActive" in Output in Vcam component (VirtualCamera2Actor) and Enable above. Next, you need to go to the root of the camera component - where VirtualCamera2Actor (self) is - that is, the main camera settings. Then go to the VirtualCamera tab in Details and find the UMG subcategory. Then write in the search "VCam_EmptyVisibleUMG". Roughly speaking, we add an empty widget, which, according to the magic settings, will remove the VCam2 UI. Honestly - it would be better if they guaranteed the main goal of this camera - stability, than a million sliders in this camera. What is the point of using it if it does not fulfill its basic function. We would have left at least the VCam1 method, but no ... There will be no solution. I hope Epics will release a patch for 4.26 and everything will be fixed, or maybe not ..

I have a quick question from Norway - when I try to render out a sequence in sequencer, it automatically jumps to recording making AVI file of what the camera is seeing after I press the "capture movie" button. It never renders the sequence, but makes a new recording and renders that one out directly. How can I render out the sequence without it doing this? Thank you!

Hey Jonathan! I finally got to try this. I do have a paid tutorial where he used Live Link Vcam, it's sort of the same thing. He did mention that this isn't production quality and that it's just a "toy" to be used to familiarize yourself with UR's camera tracking. Apparently the professional equipment is like $50K. But he never showed the setting to turn the rendering to 8 bit. When I tried that it seemed to run smoother. Is that what it was for?

@@JonathanWinbush it's an iOS app made by Unreal, they also have the face tracker "Live link face". I actually couldn't get UnRemote to connect, probably because I don't have wifi on my PC. Live Link must be going from my PC to my router to my phone because I can connect fine with that.

@@polystormstudio oh gotcha I thought you where refering to something else made by a 3rd party. Yes the ios app connects to Unreal via you router. What I find best works for me is taking your router channel settings to a higher channel that has less frequency interferance.

A great tutorial. I got everything working, but I couldn't get my iPhone rotations and translations to translate into the virtual camera. One thing through, the Unreal Remote 2 app really makes my iPhone warm. Almost too hot to touch. I guess it puts a lot of strain on the battery.

I've only use ipads so I personally can't speak to how it works on iPhones but I've noticed that if your router is using a channel that has a lot of devices on it then sometimes the app will act up.

Although the camera moves, reacts to device movements, and is displayed on the computer, but on the phone and tablet there is an inscription "connecting to (ip adress)". I keep rendering the UI shwon from the ipad in the final render. I disable the Vcam and changed the gamemode too. but for some reason I cant turn it off. Is there a solution to this? I couldn't find much answers on google.

A small tip for people that cannot connect their iPhones to Unreal Engine. Instead of adding "IP-ADDRESS:0" in the project settings under UDP Messaging, add "IP-ADDRESS:6666"

I followed your instruction step by step both in UE4 and UE5 but I can't get it to work. Is the UnRemote App on my iPhone suppose to continue saying "Connecting" as I continue to the final steps? It never seems to connect. My iPhone never appears in the LiveLink Source. Thanks!

Do you know why I don´t get any signal coming to the iphone? The tracking works fine but there´s nothing going back there. Also whenever I try to record stuff the hud appears on the recordings even though it´s normally completely gone

Not really sure could be a number of things. Try setting your router to a higher channel maybe see if that works

i had this issue as well. i finally got it working when i changed rendering from 10 bit to 8 bit, i skipped over it in the video. its somewhere around 3:50

@@kyanhudson6831 Thanks, I remembered changing it but apparently not in this particular project. However my recordings still either produce errors or have the virtual camera hud around them even if I have disabled it otherwise... Can´t get anything to record properly :/

Hi, am currently struggling with this. No matter what I do, I cant get the Gamevice controller to work. Even though on the iPad itself it works great. But in UE4 viewport I still get motion via the sensor and none of the stick or buttons on gamevice works. Any clues what is the problem here? I had no luck on unreal answer hub. There is exactly ONE post about this issue and it is almost four years old without any solution. Getting kinda desperate here, since I need to showcase this feature on friday .) Thank you!

@@JonathanWinbush I dont think the are out of business. Their website is on, the app is working and you can still buy it. Anyway colleague of mine got it working eventualy :) Though it is a combinat of both solutions. Meaning we can look around with the ipad but also control it with the sticks.

That could totally be because of wifi connections. I heard having a dedicated router works best

Hi, following all the steps with an older iPad Air 2 / iPhone 8 but can not get UE 4.26.2 to work with it properly. Already the top left menubar LiveLink tells me with a yellow exclamation mark, that it cant evaluate cameraTransform. no data available. About two years ago (yes, feels like a decade..) it worked. That was a different version and a different, much simpler setup. What am i missing? Except the latest hardware from Apple? cheers.

@@fernsehdesign did you change it to a higher channel? I did that on my router and I got better over results. I saw a youtube video on changing the channel on your router to a higher channel helps with any any interferance since most devices connect on lower levels.

@@JonathanWinbush not yet.. Have to check if thats possible with the 5Ghz mode. I have the felling that iOS 15.x does not send all data. I can remotely manually pan with those gizmos or change the focal length.. just transformation (which has a yellow dot where a green one should be in the settings)
