I live here on Cape Breton Island and grew up swimming in the Mira River. When they sang this here in Sydney last Sept 25th I sat mesmerized singing along with every word. They have brought tears to my eyes many times but this rendition of Alistair MacGillivary`s song brought a throb to my heart, as did `Working Man` written by our very own late Rita MacNeil.
