Personally, I prefer the old simplistic style of the pre 2010 figures. Yes that includes c3po. I can not deny just how impressive the new figures look and they are technically much better, but I’ll always love the original style more.

Sometimes Lego can make silly mistakes like not including pieces, which can be annoying, but sometimes they can make mistakes that involve putting in the wrong piece, which is what happened with my Civil War Airport Battle. They put in a tuxedo torso instead of War Machine's torso, so until they sent the replacement part Rhodey was the best dressed hero in town

I like the new Vader design, it gives him extra height which makes him more accurate. Vader in the movies was one of the tallest characters, and I think the extra height from the helmet really helps show that

Yeah I agree with you on that because in my opinion if you have the battle damaged Vader from the rouge shadow set you can combine the two to make it look more official like the in game version

In the original Trilogy he has a more fleshy tone but in the prequels, it's much more grey. I feel that they were trying to stay true to the original Trilogy when designing the new Palpatine.

As an owner of the original death star, I'm surprised that lego didn't take the opportunity to fix some of the biggest issues concerning the build of the set. The lift that goes from the cargo bay to the hanger could have been improved so that it fits into the cutout above, and is level with the floor below when it's lowered. As you mentioned in your review I would have loved to see the central elevator shafts strengthened and make it somewhat easier to access and place minifigures. I obviously won't be buying this set, but it would have been nice to see some improvements on such an iconic set.

I definitely like the old Obi-Wan better. The Cape suits the character so much better, and the fact that the robe on the new one is printed on the tan legs pretty much ruins it for me. Dark printing on light plastic equals very very bad coloring!

I love the newer look of the Lego Stormtroopers but they probably should have kept the black head underneath. You never see any Stormtroopers remove their helmets in the movies so a black head would have been fine.

I like the new. They are more accurate and detailed than the old ones. Example is Chewbacca, the old one you barely see his eyes, and the new has more shadings of fur and detailed eyes.

What do people think about the 'super' accuracy of minifigures in Lego? (eg. multiple prints/ face expressions etc) Is there not a crossed-line between almost an 'action figure' like minifigure, and an old skool simple 'towns folk'? Should Lego represent a character 100% or should they just sort of 'imply' a character? I'm torn, as these both look awsome!
