That is my number concern with these, and Caddx does not specify it. But I have found published FOV numbers to be worthless in actual comparisons. My Headplay HD with RHO-Lens HPRO lenses is supposed to be 57°, my Goggles X is supposed to be 50°, yet the X looks half the Headplay size. My Recon HD is supposed to be 44°, yet looks 1/3 the Headplay size. The Recon originally specified a 4.5 or 5” screen, then 4, and last 3.5”, and given how much black space is around the tiny screen, it does look like it was designed for a larger panel. Was hoping the Goggles L had a larger view than the Goggles X, I guess most want a screen they can see all at once without moving their eyes much, I prefer the IMAX experience!

Are you sure? I need a prism in my glasses to not go crossed eye. Here, since I cannot wear my glasses, I would need that prism to be either adapter on the adapter or on contact lenses, which means hard lenses. On my HDZ goggles, I can adjust the focus, but that does not correct for the crossed-eye issue... To-date the dji v1 are the most comfortable screens, because they're a but further away vs. other goggles.

My Quanum Headtracker goggle is a bit long in the tooth .. Love my smaller Eachine EV800 goggle .. TIME TO GO HD .. cheers !

I'm wearing glasses and I'm so sad I can't wear contact lenses (eyes too dry). The devices for jumping into the digital HD world, with glasses compatibility, are so rare and expensive... This unit is interesting indeed... Thanks for the review.

My glasses fit into the cobraX and dji v2 goggles. Haven't tried these walksnails yet

You can get 'diopters' / lenses that attach to the goggle. You can buy premade ones close to your prescription, or any eyeglass store can make them in your prescription. But I find my glasses fit most goggles except the small skyzones

I wear glasses with thin legs with my fatshark Recon HD and skyzone cobra X without problem. Just a bit more light passes threw the holes of the legs.

Hi Lee, I think the Fat Shark Dominator HDs are currently the best value. I love mine. These would be a nonstarter for me without any way to focus. Also, many other ways to add headtracking. Of course, still a nice entry-level choice. Nice to see Walksnail continuing to invest in the hobby.

Even though this is a "Box" goggle, it still seems to have 2 viewing screens which is still a dual viewing channel situation. For me a dual viewing situation is challenging for my eyes. Plus, it does not seem to have an HDMI input. Although still pretty decent price, but think that I will wait. Between my eyeglasses and no HDMI or analog input it is still a reason to wait.

I haven't heard much about the broadcast mode lately. Will have to see if this goggle is any good, and broadcast sharing mode is working better. If both are true, this would actually make for an excellent buddy goggle.

Something I may have to try out as I really cant get along with the v1 goggles I find them uncomfortably high pressure on my nose and I have to have my eyelashes touching the screen to get view of the whole screen in the smallish lenses. Also I find they V1 goggles are constantly blasting hot plastics fumes into your mouth and nose. I got the newbee drone foam but they have used a foam that's like those magic cleaning sponges and it abrades the crap out of your skin. I really do like the walksnail system but I find the V1 goggle very difficult to use for long periods and long range flying is what i think this system is really good for.

I noticed you have the Walksnail patch antennas on your google X and some very nice Menace Thrashers, I know you know Grey at Menace, even his pictures show his pico patches installed on the bottom two reciever ports. Why not put the patches on the top to connect to the send and recieve port.

For someone with 10+ analog models, I've been using the Skyzone Cobra S box goggles for 2+ years. I want to get into digital without converting my entire fleet. Would you recommend something like this, or the Skyzone 04X Pro with a Walksnail module?

If the HDMI input has low lag, and the screen is a nice bright OLED with a decent resolution then it should be fine. See my video on my thoughts about that in the Walksnail playlist...

The cobraX / cobraS have really laggy HDMI input. I have the cobraX and its noticeable. You can definitely fly it. It would be fine for wings. But quad freestyle you'll notice it for sure

The Goggles L looks like a great solution for those who don't want to spend an arm and a leg for the Goggles X. I am a big fan of box goggles and although I have the Goggles X, I wish I could try those. My Goggles X does not allow me to see the very corner of the screen unless I don't remove the face plate completely. I ended up flying without the cushion altogether. The IPD of the X is a few mm short for me. After Walksnail released the L I know SkyZone Cobra X v2 lost the battle.

The only thing that is strange to me is to only have a patch antenna and not add an omni, especially with the addition of head tracking that would theoretically encourage you to turn your head around which could then cause a signal break up.

So Lee - since eyeglasses don't fit, and there is no focus, (and there isn't a way to repalce the OEM lens with an Rx lens?), and the guess is that anyone needing a reading Rx over about 1.5-2.0, will REQUIRE "reading" contacts to use these goggles? Do reading contacts even exist? But in any case, I am typically stunned that a goggle manufacturer chooses to ELIMINATE a sizeable portion of their prospective customers by designing optics that simply will not work for people who need reading glasses - which is a lot of people. Wow. Quite dissapointing. Did I get that right? I still really can't believe it.

I think than is a bit strange, that here is only 2 directional antennas and no circular polarisation antennas.Is it really so? so I can't fly somewhere to the side or behind me Don't you know? Maybe you took them apart?

Yes you can, even directional antennas still recieve in all directions. Just not to the same extent as omnidirectional antennas... see my antenna lab series...

A lot of LR people say not to use circular polarized antennas on digital systems. They use bardpoles and other linear antennas. Circular only helps in dense city type settings with lots of reflections & multipathing
