New Walmart 10.1” ONN Pro Android 10 Tablet Review Is it worth $130?

Walmart recently launched two new Android 10 Powered Tablets the ONN Surf 8” Tablet Pro and the ONN Surf 10.1” Tablet Pro and both of them are powered by an Octa-core 2Ghz CPU and backed by 2-3GB of Ram.
On paper, they look much more powerful than the older ONN Android tablet from 2019 but are they worth picking up? Let's find out.
In this video, I Go over the Specs, run some benchmarks like GeekBench 3Dmark and Antutu, test out some video playback and finally wrap it up with some native and gaming with games like Minecraft, PubG and call of duty mobile plus I had to test out some emulators like Redream for Dreamcast PPSSPP for PS and Dolphin for Gamecube.

This is why I have always HATE touch screen controls for anything. I mean WHY have your hands covering at least 33% of the screen? Heck even years and years ago around 2012? I had a droid 4 and Sonic CD on it. The touch screen controls for well anything don't respond good enough. And of course you can't feel where any buttons are ever. Get a usb or bluetooth controller like I did years ago. Yes I know lag but it's better than touch screen. And yes I know about the taxman and such. Love there work and the Sonic CD port for android is good just I don't like the touch screen stuff for anything really. And yeah I just got this tablet a few weeks ago. Works great and worth the $130 for sure. Even drawing on it is pretty good so far. Pokemon GO works well enough too. Chrome is fine, youtube, etc etc.

On a low-end device like this, reicast with "Force GLESv2 Context" option turned on might run better than redream. The old OpenGL ES 2.0 rendering backend in reicast is less accurate but usually faster on low-end GPU than OpenGL ES 3.x renderer.

I just bought a 7" onn tablet android with 16 GB storage, just doesn't seem like much, but for an old lady like me it is just fine! I can watch all my movies, play my grandma games, watch YT, Amazon, do all my ordering from Wal Mart Grocery pick up and get it all done through the app! I don't have an iPhone so this will help me use the apps for grocery pick up for me. The speakers work well, and it has an earphone jack, and it only cost $32 !! The only thing that is a burden is the battery life. If you leave the tablet on, even if the screen goes dark in life saver mode like all computers and tablets do, but this one just drains and dies. I am saving my money for a new lap top so I bought the little ONN and it is great! This would be great for kids, or first time tablet users like me. I would just like to figure out all the stuff it can do!

8:38 - My husband was watching this (over my shoulder); and observed, "All that violence... Then on the nightly news, they wonder why they're having so many problems with it..." I have to agree. While I am a gameplayer (my husband is not), I just never saw the sense of FPS stuff like Assassin's Creed, GTA and CoD. Anyway, he has this tablet (we picked it up yesterday); and for our first tablet, he's thrilled with it so far. It'll handle anything he plans to do with it, and more! :)

Android 10 is such a wonderful advancement in Androids core framework so all apps run a whole lot smoother the same way as php based websites (such as WordPress websites) have all universally improved in speed and fluidity significantly since php 6. To me Android 10 now finally has reached an optimization level to compete with Apples operating system... Without its fumbling over the bulkiness/sloppiness of its own code. Still these advancements can't compete with the lightest operating systems of all, the cloud operating systems. If you had shadow pc (virtual windows) running on that tablet you could easily run the new Modern Warfare. I know you understand all this I just wanted to talk about how great android 10 is of a feature compared to all previous Android operating systems including 9. You can get a smooth performance from low end hardware with Android 10, but a GPU will only deliver so much performance before it reaches its hardware limits.

@@aa-vb9tj mounts mostly. It's so hard to make a mount work with a USB cable. With the flush docking connector power delivery it's much easier to do in something like a snap in mount so you can take it off the wall. If the connector does more than just power (like video out or USB hub mode) then it's even more interesting.

A55 are supposed to be the replacement for A53 cores as they are 40% more efficient on power and workloads, I mean the Amlogic S905 X3 is a quad core A55 cluster with a low end Mali G31 GPU, ETA tested the Odroid C4 which utilizes the S905X3, has Android running out of the box and scored over 92k on Antutu v8, SD625, which is 8 A53cores clocked at 2 GHz with an Adreno 506 GPU scores only 81-85k with a 64bit ROM in antutu

made a big oops, correction to the claim, its more like 15-18% better in performance and power consumption, Android Authority wrote that the A55 is capable of clocking up to 2.6 GHz in extreme circumstances

Question - Are there any inexpensive 10" Android tablets that have 4:3 like the iPad? For reading magazines, books and emulation the 4:3 display works so much better (or even the Surface 5:4 works better), but it seems like Android makers have just given up on anything that isn't 16:9 or 16:10.

Interestingly, this tablet can be bootloader unlocked. So this means that rooting this tablet is quite easy, just gotta need a boot image dump.

It's about 2 pounds give or take according to most reviews I've seen for the 10 inch model. It's pretty light I'd compare it closest to some of the older iPad models like 2nd-4th gen

I just got a new Lenovo tablet yesterday. I like you, when I unpacked it, in the little tiny manual it talked how to put in SD card. I haven't went and bought one yet. Do you know if it is necessary to have one in it. I am new to the tablet world, so any help you give, will be appreciated. It seems to be working fine without one. It depends on how much junk you keep on your tablet/ Lot's of software and an SD card will give more room for programs. You can also use it in a different way. I use a laptop to put my videos and audio books on the SD card and then put it in the talbet to listen to them or watch them.

@@jwill7998 that may be true to some extent.... but i have an exynos processor in my Samsung galaxy s10+ and its runs like a beast if I am not mistaken..... that too with most wii and some playstation 2 games..... i would mostly be using this for emulation anyway.... $350 for all the games up to a psp (hopefully also gamecube) games is good enough for the price point for me..... thats endless amount of entertainment for my little one on 1 device vs buying a new Nintendo switch with 1 game if you ask me

You should still go with the S4. It can do a decent job with GameCube, and do wired video output (with Dex or just mirror). Plus the keyboard connects directly.

I have the 8" (slightly older) version and its not bad. I use it primarily for digital scans of old comic books, old gaming magazines + video game strategy guides and game manuals, some manga and art collections as well as my DVD rips and classic cartoons downloaded from youtube... I dont really use it for gaming c_c bought it a year ago and I've enjoyed it for the most part all things considering of it being a budget Wal Mart tablet. the one in this video seems better though honestly I haven't really compared the specs to give a definite opinion on that.

5 meg camera doesn't sound to bad compared to the 2 meg camera on the fire 10 tablet. I was surprised that an old Hisense tablet with 3 meg had better pictures compared to the Fire 10, the Fire 10 is camera is really bad. Although the Fire 10 is going for $109.00 now

can u try ark survival evolved, its not easy to run but it locks out devices with less than 3gb of ram. if thw wifi is good enough running servers saves some performance
