If you're a Canadian Walmart seller it's very easy to apply for the US Walmart and you don't need EIN or W8 as Walmart will take care of it. Just in case there are some Canadian Walmart sellers here.

Thank you!! The seller central account creation is instant but I currently do not know low long it's taking them to verify businesses as I got approved for my account during the old process. I'd apply as soon as possible, I don't think there's a better time of year to apply (that influences approval). You must use your legal company name and EIN for the business verification. You can use your brand name for the DBA (doing business as) if that's an option and for your website.

You must put your EIN and legal company name even if it doesn't match your brand name - that is ok! They will only ask for the GS1 UPC codes when you add new items to your catalog.

Here's a tip: you don't need a GS1 upc, you can use other upc codes which are way cheaper and has no subscription fee. The only time you need GS1 upc is if Walmart invites your product to be sold in store on their shelves. If it's just for the market place then other uoc codes will work. Look up "barcodestalk".

Don't know if you applied yet but you need to apply for EIN and a W8 form for tax purposes. Your best bet is to hire an agency to do this for you as you need a sponsor for an American address. I started out as a Canadian Walmart seller so I was invited to apply for Walmart US and I didn't require EIN or W8 as Walmart took care of all that. Maybe you can try getting into Canadian Walmart first? It will save you a few hundred bucks and a couple month's time cause EIN takes a long time plus you are not guaranteed acceptance at Walmart US. I think your best bet is going through the cdn Walmart first.

Hi there! In order to sell on Walmart you *need* a UPC code. So in your case, even though you created your product from scratch (private label), I'd recommend you to go to GS1 and purchase a single-GTIN for $30 and use that code when listing your product on Walmart. Hope this helps!

Yes, but you don't have to worry about this if you're not using Walmart Fulfillment. The UPC requirement mentioned in the video is regarding the UPC code NUMBER.

I created as per the procedure, but Amazon said I'm not fit to sell. I'm little confused between EIN and TIN#. I'm US citizen it is asking for TIN in application and i entered only EIN# as I didn't have TIN#. Finally i was not allowed to sell. The old form had the option to show your seller experience by providing the store links, but this newly updated application does not contain any such links and it immediately rejects you just by saying you are not fit to sell..Even though I'm an experienced seller, I didn't go through the process which is painstaking...

I don't know if you've applied yet, but if you're a non American and you have an an American LLC you need to have a sponsor to sign on your behalf for an American address and for tax purposes. Your best bet is to have an agency do this for you. You will need an EIN# too which an agency can help you with.
