​@@cd8086 not sure about the original commenter, but for me the farming loadout is light armor(any works really), liftpack and stim booster. and then doing difficulty 2s. generally quickly checking for artillery secondary on the map. leaving the mission if you spot artillery and restarting till you get the radar tower as secondary. doing the radar and vacuuming the map. then onto the next mission.

Dif 1 desert map, only strata that matters is jump pack, any mission but illegal broadcast seemed a bit better. Light medic armor with booster: stamina > stim > muscle (depending on crew)(find a buddy for bunkers). Abandon mission w/squad then repeat. BTW I was yesterday years old when I learned you can find undiscovered MPoI's by hovering minimap cursor over them. Also stimming anytime stam runs out. The more members the better; you can fan out and clear a map in 1 minute yielding anywhere from 30 usually to 100 sc give or take. (100 stacks of sc also exist)

I agree. I get the Constitution supposed to be a meme weapon, but I really enjoy it. The bolt action and small magazine size makes me have to make every shot count, and the bayonet is a great addition for when a bot or bug charges you. I bring the Senator along just for that extra AP and as a “I need that bot/bug dead now” panic button. If they bumped the Constitution to heavy AP, I think it would absolutely make it an even more viable weapon. It’s already great for bug chaff and if you can hit headshots, it’s great for automatons too

i would say you could argue both are at fault. AH maybe shouldve had something more cooked and of course the game shouldnt have HAD to have a 60 day plan, but on the other hand, considering many of us knew of the 60 day plan, i dont know what people expected

No pips is right, balancing should be done in the background. Previous multiplayer games did a good job and used to do a good job at balancing and turning out new content. But now like pip said, the businesses now expect you to take balancing as content when it actually isn't

do wish the new WW2 or 1 rifle gets the senator treatment that it's bullets hits hard regardless if its "realistic" BUT im willing to wait IF there's weapon mod and upgrade system added to the game to upgrade the weapon to have higher armor pen later instead of a flat buff. (switch out scopes, the knife etc for the rifle) the idea like the senator that if you have 0 bullets, you reload faster since that rifle has a clip reload option

Id like to point out that new content has been dropped for the game pretty consistently even while game balance was being tweaked. New content included warbonds, strategems, new MOs with changes to the war, and new enemies. Pretty impressive output while addressing community concerns and changing their plans of balance. Content will arrive at a faster pace now that balancing is not a priority. Liberty day seems like it was a waste of potential for content though.

That’s not a lot of content especially since some of the stratagems have been in the files for a long time. We only got like, one new stratagem since they announced their plan and no enemies that either weren’t in the game before or added in the EoF update. Like pretty much the only new content we got during the 60 day plan was the napalm barrage and the chemical warbond

20:53 So true They just need to go through and buff/rework every armor passive except for MAYBE med kit and democracy protects. IDK why AH is so scared of giving immunities. The damage resistance does basically nothing because you take 1/4 of your health instead of 1/2 and then you end up stimming anyway because if you aren't at full health you'll get one shot by everything this patch The problem with unflinching even if its a full immunity is that you only flinch when you get hit and when you get hit you die immediately because we are wet paper divers

As someone who started indie game dev a bit over a year ago. Making a game is one of the most difficult things out there. Not only do you have to make software that works, it has to be fun. I want to chat about this in a future video. As for the design aspects, it's tough to take feedback but also stick to the vision for the game. To me, in a PVE game, you balance the game around fun for the player. Things can be inherently unbalanced because it's against the AI. If your vision for the game is different than what players are expecting, to me that suggests your marketing wasn't on point. I can see instances where a designer may elect not to take the player feedback because of something else that's planned. It's gets tricky if the change alters the core gameplay loop. In the case of Helldivers 2 though.... well that wasn't the case. The game felt very rough to play at times because of all the nerfs and for a live service PVE game, the game feeling fun has to be one of the highest priority items on your list. I could of course change my mind in the future, but these are my thoughts after the first year of really thinking about these things a lot.

Always opt for player fun within reason. If you intend to make a hard game, craft the difficulty well. Make it feel rewarding for your laborious and arduous ventures, never work to make the player experience feel terrible for the sake of balance

@@lordbeerus462 Absolutely. The whole thing about Space Marine changing the timing on dodges different depending on difficulty level just sounds like it would make the game feel bad to play as you adjust. I hate bullet sponge enemies. It gets so boring when that happens.

The constitution should be good, "its a meme" gun is not a good enough reason for it to be mid. The farmer double barrel shotgun is a meme gun and not only is it fun to use its great at clearing chaff! Personally I would give the constitution the same damage as the counter sniper, stripper clips, more stagger force on melee (bayonets were designed to take on horses) and if throwing knives can do 250 damage my bayonet should do 250 damage. It just makes sense B)

Liberty Day needed us to orbit Super Earth and see celebrations going on and a video of the bombardment of the moon. Constitution needs a quick reload option from empty. Other than that I'm chill with what we got.

I feel the true problem is that most people are creating this image in their head that everything should be good to use at level 10. Helldivers until recently was supposed to be the highest difficulty was actually hell. As an example guns would be targeted to be good at level 8, and skill carries you through higher levels. I truly think a new player would love the constitution as a free gun, it probably does great levels 1-6. I am not saying this game to easy, I love the state this game is in.

I’ve been playing bots. And stealth no longer works in this game. I had a century gun stationed 50m away - I was on a rock watching the patrol walking towards the gun- the moment the gun started shooting them. They turned directly at me and started shooting at me.

The constitution just needs to have the stab damage increased. Making the stab as strong as the gun's bullet or the throwing knife would make sense but honestly you could make it stronger than the senator and it would still be a meme gimmick gun. They also need to buff TF out of peak physique's melee boost because its so bad. It literally changed one breakpoint in the entire game before this gun was added and melee is already atrocious so no matter the boost it will never be broken. Just go all out with a 200% boost, it would would be so fun and still not viable

Yes normally balance should not be looked at as content. But this 60 day felt like content because we could actually enjoy all of the other weapons and stratagems. Going forward they need to releasing more than just warbonds. They wasted so much time with balancing. It’s time to move forward. FOR SUPER EAAAAARRTH!!! 💪

The constitution is a fun, but comparatively is abad weapon. It is from 1903 so its pretty spot on. If id change anything, id up the damage to one shot hunters. Also, the recommendations to make a 5rnd bolt action rifle have an 8rnd capacity, semiauto with a ping are nutty. I really appreciate the 1903, same as the Garand. But they are two completely different guns. If you want a garand, ask for a garand. Id love to have a full vintage arsenal.

I think Liberty Day was fine. I don't want the developers to feel like they can't do anything fun or event wise in the game without having to add some special or over the top reward. Dead sprint could be good on some mission types. When you stim it fills health and stamina so as long as you remember to stim before a fight you can cross country like crazy. A 4 person squad with stamina, vitality, muscle enhancement and experimental mixture in a bug hole mission would get it done quick.

To respond to CloudPlay's comment about the Constitution being for the elite: You seem to forget that there are 10 difficulties. Anyone can be elite by lowering the difficulty from where they usually play.

The more they talked about it, the more I really wish the dev said anything about what we should have expected for liberty day and the new weapon. I certainly wasnt expecting a big update but they could have straight up said: no major update, only the armor, helmet and weapon. I understand that they want to keep us on our toes and they want to release new enemies/content when it's unexpected, but I think for something as unique as liberty day, it wouldnt have hurt to confirm it. Same with the weapon; We have people saying "it's supposed to be bad, it's only a meme weapon". If they dev said it out loud that it is supposed to be like that, I would have gladly accepted. But they didnt. Even the description doesnt really match the old one from HD1 where it specifically said it wasn't suited for real combat. Like why give something that mediocre when it's the ONLY new things (other than the armor which doesnt have anything unique about it) for this "big" event. If they literally made some kind of event like the daily could have been to have x amount of kill with it and the description could have say that "you must prove your worth using this training weapon", I would have been happy. And from the leaks (which I know the dev wont talk about that but still), it looks like the constitution just didnt get adjusted from the 60 day patches. Same stats as the leaks where it would have been the in between the normal and counter diligence sniper. It truly feels like an un-updated weapon, something they forgot to adjust. And honestly, would it really hurt the "meme" aspect if it was a bit better? Like even if it's just a better reload, a bit more dmg or hell even higher armor pen. Because as of now, it will 100% be like the throwing knifes aka something nobody will use after the "hype" is gone. I dont expect anyone to use it in a week or two (especially with the new warbond coming out this week which looks like amazing on paper). The best solution IMO, to please everyone, would be to release a new updated version of the constitution so that we both have the "meme" aspect and something more viable.

They could have done a bit more. Even kill 100 enemies with the constitution and get the cape with the old armor. And not being able to charge with it sucks. But it's fine. I'm not mad just disappointed liberty day wasn't better

The constitution is definitely not that bad. Most of my squad has been using it to pretty good effect. I think people's perception is a bit skewed by the meta guns being so good. Not that I think the meta guns should be nerfed, but I also think it's okay for the Constitution to be how it is (Although stripper clips would be good). I think in general, the enemy balancing is what should be changed to make non-explosive weapons more competetive.

@acenine8149 Up to super helldive on bugs (although not always, depends how much my squad wants to tryhard) and usually a few levels lower when we do bots. For the past few days we've mostly been doing 7 so it might feel worse on higher difficulties, but I think it would still be viable on higher difficulties, it just adds a bit more challenge compared to meta weapons. I think that for situations that favor its traits (medium pen, rounds reload, and hard-hitting shots) it does a pretty solid job. Like being a backup weapon to a grenade launcher for situations where you don't want to danger close your squadmates, for instance. Plus, you get to look badass running across the map with it.

@@DroidFreak36 Yeah idk bro. I play 8 on both, and after the crossbow buff, I cannot possibly see myself using this weapon on either front at that difficulty, especially the bugs. There are hundreds of bugs to kill per player at that difficulty, and if this thing is not almost one shotting everything below a commander, then I just don’t think it will ever be viable passed the honeymoon period. When I can kill 4 bile spewers in two shots with the crossbow, this thing will just never get anywhere close to that in its current state. If I could one tap them to the head, then I might consider it.

@acenine8149 It's definitely less powerful than the crossbow. I think that it's okay for that to be the case, though. I think that things should be balanced around fun, not around making all weapons equal. I do think that probably there should be more options with similar viability to the crossbow, but I don't think that the Constitution needs to be one. Although it would benefit from enemy vulnerability to non-explosive weapons being increased, which I think is what they should do to improve the options available. As it is, it feels to me like taking *any* non explosive weapon is always an off-meta pick for fun/variety compared to explosive ones. With the loadout I've been running with the grenade launcher I still get to exploit that, though, I just have to use my support weapon to exploit it.

The tube selector on the shotgun is for showing, which magazine tube is being used. Its from the original realworld weapon design UTAS UTS-15. No alternating ammo, Sorry...

In the real world weapon it isn't, but the weapon in the game have explicitly been stated to have ammo selection. As as side note, the single shot reloaded shotguns in the game already have the type of thing you mention.

@@znail4675 The Punisher, Slugger, Cookout and this new shotgun are all based on the Turkish UTAS UTS-15. Google it an you will see. Ammo selection doesn't mean you load one tube with each ammo. real world UTAS UTS-15 has that spring that change to the active tube its taking ammo from. It carries 8 shells each.

You’re insane. That would make anti tank weapons nearly obsolete and make weapons like the grenade launcher and AC absolutely broken. The support weapons are fine where they are now. They could use some changes, like the laser cannon needs a little more juice, and the hmg needs the shadow nerfs reverted, but overall, the support weapons are generally fine in what they do. giving EVERY support weapon extra AP, regardless of the situation, is completely unnecessary.

@@epsilon1372 but explosion and projectile damage are two separate values. It wouldn’t change much but the piercing value. Then AMR could shoot through things. And so could other things because they deal damage with projectile damage. The explosion damage values wouldn’t change so it’s not like it’ll be anymore effective. It makes everything usable and it’ll your choice to choose your favorite feeling weapon. Using weapons that aren’t viable isn’t how to achieve difficulty.

If you're logging into the game and there's a new weapon that's actually good - isn't it better than when you log in and get absolutely horrendous weapon?
