You could cover it with a view of how to build it to 1000 points then maybe 1500 and then 2000 for slow grow type leagues? You've done this a lot I appeciate already but I guess you could talk about the individual issues worth picking extras up of to match those list sizes?

Would be a really good way to have a lot of variety to play with if you enjoy the Combat Patrol game mode. But man that's still expensive.

If you just buy what you need separately, you'll be fine. Getting a Forgefiend for 18£ or 26$ or getting other full kits for half that sounds good to me. The entire subscription is expensive, but you are still saving 50-60% off of the GW retail price.

A two of these are actually just functional 1k lists with allies. Gene stealers come in at 995 with the 10 shock troops, armoured Sentinel and the ordnance battery making up 250 points. Chaos Space Marines are 990 by stealing the forge fiend and allying 10 zerkers. Or you can take the mauler fiend give it the mark of khorne and just paint it WE colours. Then buy some enhancements of your characters burn the other points. As a world eaters lover while they can’t hit 1k with the magazine. Getting the combat patrol and a mauler fiend is a great start especially if you expand with exalted 8bound and kharn to hit 995. I could also see the terminator from the space marines getting kit bashed in chaos/renigades. And the infernus can be made into extra legionaries with the spare arms/weapons.

Agree, he’s immediately to the left of the command squad, wearing the trench coat. I count 26 infantry bases, so one more than the normal combat patrol box, making the commissar extra.

I think GW is just going to keep replacing combat patrols, considering the old ones still have valid rules. Plus, GW could make subscribers double dip and buy the new combat patrols as well to get to 1000~ish points.

This is an interesting idea. It's a shame the space marine and tyranid combat patrols ended up being drawn from the leviathan release. What would be a ball park cost for this run would be my only concern. I appreciate that it's a big saving on individual purchases, but i'd still need to do the mental gymnastics to justify it to my self before i jumped in.

I have no use for those two combat patrols because of Leviathan as well, but considering that this is the only tyranid combat patrol with rules, they had no choice.

@@EmpireofWargames Yeah, my disappointment was more with GW than with hachette 👍 it might still be worth getting incase I ever start collecting a different chapter of marine. Although would you get a better discount just buying the Warhammer 40k Starter Set 🤔

The extra guard model is the new Comissar, kinda disappointing honestly when you compare it to what some of the others got.

@@EmpireofWargames the Leman Russ would have made a lot of sense but it loos like they are trying to shift to the Dorn being the main Guard tank for 40k and the Russ being the identity of the Solar Auxilia in 30k

It is a cool concept, but even if this series follows shortly after "Stormbringer" - assuming they are not going for parallel series - you are looking for a STARTING POINT of late 2025. We will have the first solid rumours for 40K 11th edition by then (coming mid 2026). The interesting part to me is that a lot of the current CPs featured in this series will be no longer available - because GW has changed to new CPs by then.

Imperium is a great magazine if you like Necrons and/or Space Marines. I bought some Issues multiple times. Issue 23 and 25 are amazing for their price!

The sergeant is cool and all but then you’d have six infernus marines. Either kitbash a model to be like a lieutenant/intercessor/hellblaster or you’d have to buy four more marines to make two units of five. I’m torn into subscribing to the magazine as I did the whole of the imperium. I would like to try out a few different combat patrols and paint 🎨 something else.

As far as painting goes, nothing keeps me motivated to keep going like a palate cleanser in between big projects, and this seems ideal for that. It's also cool to have armies ready to play a game of combat patrol with friends. I am not sure if I'll subscribe either, though. I have the Space Marine, and the Tyranid Combat Patrols multiple times now.

It's usually takes 6-12 months after the UK release, for these to release in other regions.

I wonder why they are trialing these? They did it for conquest - great response same for mortal realms and stormbringer and then imperium was a major hit. Its clearly gonna sell. Is the trial stage to gauge print numbers, wven that doesn't make sense to me?

I think the first 4 or 5 issues are not full combat patrols, just a few tyranid and space marines models. Hachette is trying to assess interest and reception of the concept/idea.

I'm pretty sure the Orks are getting the Boomdakka Snazzwagon, not the Squigbuggy. I'm USA based and already bought the Leviathan box. That drastically reduces the value of the SM and Tyranid sets. Finding individual issues of Imperium was difficult here, and I expect this to be no different. This looks like a bad deal to me when I can already get everything besides the Champion and Infernusor Sergeant for less money 3rd party assuming it's $15 per issue.

Don't get me wrong, i❤the idea behind this but I don't understand some of the army or model choices. Would have preferred to get a NO SM or Nids or Necrons mix of armies. Drukhari, Tau, Admech, these armies need more players and screen time 😢

The only thing AoS has going at the moment is the Stormbringer magazine (which is really cool if you collect Stormcast or Kruleboyz). If you are talking about a magazine featuring AoS Vanguard boxes, there is no news about anything like that yet.
