Hi Amy, I’ve been watching your videos since I got my shih tzu about a year ago. THANK YOU for taking the time to help train owners how to groom their dogs. Of all the channels I’ve seen, yours has provided instruction, compassion and encouragement to groom their dogs. I re-watch the videos again if something doesn’t look or feel the way you described. I've been looking forward to a full groom on a Shi-tzu. Thank you. Did you trim his nails, pull the hair out of the ears, etc? I give my little girl Shi-tzu a break or two from grooming. It helps me AND her both!

Glad to help:) yes I trimmed his nails cleaned his ears and gave him a full bath and blow out before the trim. I have other videos on my channel showcasing those techniques so I didn’t include it in this demo it was getting too long.

Amazing groomer . I had very bad experience with a groomer . Shaved the dog bald. I told her not. My other dog same groomer cut one side shorter than the other side. I don't know why she still in business. Your amazing 🤩.

I absolutely love your videos, learn a lot , but Im frustrated with the precious dogs I've been grooming, they do not like to be groomed at all , some try to bite me over and over again,and move constantly, trying to get away, It would be nice to see a few videos with hard to work with dogs. i heard you say in previous video to not use 10 blades. but notice you use this be here. does the guard comb protect from too much being cut off? we have shih tzu maltese 15 yrs old and need start grooming him ourselves. will get Andis Pro Clip 2speed detachable blade clipper

I use a number 10 blade all the time just not on the body or legs. I use it only in the sanitary areas and under guard combs.

This is such a wonderful grooming job. By watching you tonight made me realize that my groomer I have really don’t know to groom my dog probably. I live in a very low populated area. That’s the only groomer I have had my dogs and the only groomer in my town. If I travel to get the dogs groomed over an hour. The travel time with the all day the groomer has my dogs all day from 9-5. That’s just way to long with travel time. With my dogs being at the groomer all day she doesn’t offer them water. So they are so thirsty when they get home. My dogs are not getting the proper grooming I’m paying for. I was googling agin groomers and maybe I found a groomer like 45 minutes away. I’m going to give them a call tomorrow. Is there any guidance you can give me to be assured that my baby’s are going to get a proper grooming from now on from other groomers?

What is the difference between blending shears and thinning shears?

Some shear makers call thinners, blenders. The true difference is blending shears have teeth on both blades and blending shears have teeth on only one blade and the other is a straight blade. These days most shear makers favor blending shears because they produce a very natural look while removing a good amount of hair when scissoring.

Here in PAKISTAN we have shihtzu but not groomers they usually shave them I have a shihtzu puppy he is now 2 years but untill now I trim his hair every week before I give him bath but I'm afraid and can't groom him as I want him to be groomed.😟 but hope I'll go next year to USA then I'll take him to a good groomer like you
