Amy, that’s the thing! The darn stuff didn’t look like I had anything on my face. Just my skin perfected. I do not usually use a matte powder but this one combined with the cream foundation made for a really interesting natural look. I am very pleased with it.

Hello Janet! There is definitely that cream texture but, as I smoothed it with the flat side of the puff, it went really natural on the skin and then, the addition of the powder, of course, made that even smoother. But, having said that, I totally understand a preference for a pump foundation. Of course. And there’s enough of all of it out there for us to choose our favorite! So happy you came along for the review and appreciative of your lovely comment!

I ordered also shade 9, and powder and puff, no, extra puff. I logged in at 6 in the evening already in order not to forget, but than, it's always 7 in the evening, having dinner, cleaning up the dishes, you know how that goes, so concealer shade 12 was already gone. But the rest comes, i hope today, otherwise Monday, looking forward to discover this!!! Unpacked since last Monday and last Tuesday, we are again in our little beachhouse, so it depends if Fedex delivers when the reception of the park here is open. But it will come!!! @@NotFitforPrintBeauty hi Rebecca, update nr. 1. The foundation came last Friday with the powder, so that was quick again from Beautylish!!! I also used shade 9, which is good, i always love my foundation to be only a little bit deeper than my skintone otherwise i still look pale. The foundation is super super good, really flawless fantastic product!!! The powder, i need to learn. With that puff it's a no, because it became more of a mask than, but that's just me. I'm so used to only use my big fluffy Chikuhodo GSN 1 and only that brush for a light setting powder application. So i don't know if it's the powder, but i did not like application of a powder with a puff. My usual powders are also mainly from Beautylish, from Koh Gen Do, and still love the Hourglass one, the translucent loose setting powder. At the hairdresser, not the previous time, but one time in november, they sell Ilia there, and i bought that setting powder, never use it such a waist, don't know, to shiny, wrong colour i don't know. I don't want to see a setting powder that is my main goal. Hope this is helpfull. Cleaning the beachhouse again today, i'll try later in the week and set it as i normally do with my Chikuhodo GSN 1, the love of my life from all setting brushes especially with my sensitive skin!!! @@annemarietimmerman7213 I totally understand! The powder has to have a very very light hand. I use it on the velour side and I just gently tap. I use so little it’s almost like I’m not using it at all, to be honest. With the Ilia powder that you said ends up looking shiny, are you buffing it in with a flat kabuki style brush in circles? That might help and at least you won’t feel it’s being wasted.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty reporting back on shade 5 as a bronzer/contour. I am a fan! I dotted on the cheekbone and it took only a couple finger taps and it blended out perfectly. Applied at the hairline and blended out with the Sonia G Lotus base brush and it gave a beautiful skinlike finish with some warmth. Gorgeous! My first thought when applying was that the tone reminded me of the Tarte cream bronzer in Seychelles. When swatched with one swipe Tarte and two swipes Goss they are almost dead on dupes for tone. I prefer the finish of the Goss and the ease of blending though. The Tarte might be a hair darker with a hint more red. Although shade 5 is described as a cool undertone there is a hint of yellow. I have a pink undertone though and it works beautifully. So for anyone with a cool to neutral undertone using shade 9 as foundation, I think shade 5 is a great bronzer/contour.

Hi Rebecca. I'm writing this while at work. At first I was hesitant on ordering this...but I've ordered it. I've ordered Shade 4 (Deep with neutral undertones). I hope that it works as that shade 3 is deep with cool undertones and shade 5 is too light. It's expected to be delivered today. I will test it out sometime tomorrow before I head out. Then I will record and upload on Sunday. I've also got the powder and puff/sponge. It does look very nice on you.

I really hope they refill these lighter shades quickly. So many people were not able to get their shade. I’m not as impressed with the lightest shade as I thought I would be. So let’s hope that they come back with the foundation shades in the lighter colors first.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I’m finally getting back to you :) I worked 48 hours and then real life keeps me busy. So the color 5 is dark enough for a contour and a nice sunny sort of bronzer. The 4 is not too dark but I still need to only pick up a little to have a nice bronzey look. I’m sure you’ve received your extra colors by now too. I have not used the puff for the foundation. It just looks so gross on the puff and it looks like it will waste a lot of product. I’ve only used my beauty blender to apply it. It’s nice and light and it seems to wear well.

This is really interesting to me, as I've never been a fan of cream foundations but I am a fan of Wayne and have loved almost everything else of his I've tried. Do you think this will work for an oilier complexion? Did you think the finished look was poreless and remained so for the day and did the powder help blur? Sorry Rebecca, I know thats a lot of questions, but this isn't one I can get a sample of to try first. I have very enlarged pores on my nose and I hate when you get that pinprick look when some foundations settle into them.

Carolyn! Not too many questions at all. Perfect questions, actually. I know the pin prick look and it's not flattering, agreed. So, in short, YES. I wore this all day and, by night time, which you did not see on camera, I had completely forgotten I was wearing it. It just looked like perfected, smooth skin. I was actually really impressed by the powder, which surprised me. Why? Because I usually find powders to be an after thought in the complexion process IF they are introduced WITH the foundation, rather than as their own release. AND I am not really a powder lover usually. But this made my face SO smooth and the foundation so almost...compact and SET. It eliminated the need for much concealer and seems, so far, to be a LOVELY little release. I will continue to mess around with it, of course, as we were all so in love with the Lisa Eldridge release and then, weeks and weeks in, I was allergic to it and so many others were too. Eek. So far so good with this new Wayne release though!

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty thanks, it seems that all the lighter shades are sold out already so I'd need to wait for a restock but I will say the thing I thought Lisa Eldridge did very well was the sample cards so you could try a few shades before purchasing and see how the formula worked, however as you say these shades are flexible and I don't think its in quite the same price range as Lisa's.

Yes. You'd actually likely be the shade 10 or 11. I think this does work for dry skin as long as you use the powder very sparingly. The product does need the power. It's what works with it to achieve that nice, clean, natural look. If you tend towards wildly dry, though, you could skip powder. If not, just the lightest lightest lightest dusting and this would be fine for dry skin.

That is a great question and it’s actually the first time that someone has asked! The KVD good Apple is much much thicker. And not nearly as natural looking. The KVD is very full coverage whereas this Wayne Goss can actually be sheered out easily and worn even light to medium coverage.

Oh Rebecca. Enjoyable review as always but trying to decide shade online was very challenging. And I’ve been a working MUA with a lot of experience choosing and applying foundation on others as well as myself! I have a feeling that I’ll probably end up exchanging my shade. I hope not, but we’ll see. It’s on its way.. I chose shade 5 even though to me it was the worst swatch. I really couldn’t tell what that shade is going to look like. It was the only shade though described as med/deep which I usually am. I’m thinking it may not work because I’m definitely more neutral.. slightly olive - never usually cool. However, shade 4 appeared a bit richer than my complexion (too deep for under eye) and 6 too light - and I really didn’t feel like getting 2 shades by guessing. The formula looks amazing for my normal/dry skin and I can’t wait to try it with the powder and puff (ordered 2). Maybe I should have waited until he’s able to come out with more shades.. but it’s Wayne Goss. Who can wait!?! Lol. :-)

I bet your eye was right on, Adrienne!!! You know what lies to us? The color correctness on our screens. I don't need to tell you that. You know it all too well. I swear, lately I go more by the written description of the shade than the photo online. Their screens change the color and then the screens we are viewing them on change the color, etc. etc. It's like a whole charade! I bet your gut was right. I remember when Lisa Eldridge released her foundation and I wore the same shade as she did (again, she’s much more fair than I am) and her models wore it too. There’s always that one shade, or so it seems, that’s the true mid point. And it sold out very quickly, directly after shade 12.

Hello Shari! So far I’m really enjoying it. I don’t need to powder foundation. I have a really normal balance on my skin and I don’t usually run to powder but I find that this powder just makes everything settle in so beautifully. So if you have combo skin you can just put that dab extra on your more oily areas and I think you are going to be really really pleased. I have also just ordered the fourth shade to try as a bronzer.

Being light olive has been challenging to get a close match but Kosas Revealer foundation in 160 is the actual best I have ever had. And I definitely have to use a more gold toned bronzer(Tower28 Gold Coast)/green self tanner(Bondi) to really look more natural but I love the idea of a balm/cream especially with my drier leaning combo skin.

The new Kosas foundation in 160 is a perfect match for me so I know what to look for plus I follow the Olive MUA subreddit and we share lots of swatches. I like to think of Wayne Goss and Lisa Eldridge as 2 British MUAs who love natural looking skin and she does have pale and light olive tones so hopefully Wayne will be able to add more soon. My favorite is to line, not fill in, with a shade that is either way too light or way too dark and then I fill in with chrysanthemum, like I did in this video, but that’s a Bronze look or, for a peach that you mention, one of his nude liners would be lovely, even all over the lips and then, the lighter cashew or chestnut lipstick or a gloss in Hyacinth or tulip. So pretty!!!

Yes. And no. That was confusing, I realize. I do like this as a system. I like the foundation and I like it better with the powder. I think you could use the powder with another foundation and I think you could use the foundation with another powder but I’m not going to do that. I kind of like them together. This foundation does need to be set or it will remain a bit sticky. I am not usually fond of Matte powders. Usually I don’t set I just buff at the end with a little bit more of a luminous powder. But I like these two together. Is the foundation ruined without the powder? No. It definitely is not. But I like them together. If you are just kind of experimenting, however, get the foundation and play around with it and use other powders and see what you think. Though there is no guarantee, I don’t see the powder selling out as fast as the individual shades of foundation will.

Hello Alise! No SPF. New fragrance.. I spent so much time last night just beating myself up for not mentioning those two things but I was so excited by the foundation so I’m very glad that you asked. No SPF and no fragrance is like a dream come true. It’s interesting. I think the larger brands that have tons of money are able to do huge shades election but then they also feel they have to include fragrance and they feel that they have to put in SPF. The really nice thing about Wayne Goss funding himself is that it can be a nice little niche product and leave out things like SPF and fragrance, etc.

SO many good points in just one comment. How do you achieve that, you genius? YES. The more shades, the more exact, the more pinpointed and the more that little teeny bit of "off" happens. AGREED. Sometimes, people fail to realize that stretchier more forgiving shades are a good thing. I'm all for seeing where the gaps are and adding shades, however. Charlotte did that with the Hollywood Flawless Finish. Along the line, they added in a few shades and it really helped people who, up until that point, had been mixing to create their own colors. And I can see that happening here as well. I am not advocating for people having to buy multiples and create shades. I am simply speaking to the cost of manufacturing, etc. If I wore 9 and Wayne wore 9, and we are by no means the same skin tone, then we can effectively call this stretchy. Cream foundation is often so tricky. This one, especially paired with the powder, is a good one.

This is a great question, Emma. And I am still working with the foundation and the powder to have a better answer for you. I am not a powder person, per se. I have very normal skin and it can get a bit dry. So I do use, as you note here, a more luminous powder when I buff in as a finishing powder. I do not generally use a setting powder so, by nature, I tend to stay away from a matte powder too. I enjoyed this together with the foundation as a sort of system, if that makes sense. I found the foundation blurred and gave a nice sense of continuity to the skin. And a little bit of the powder over the top made everything set beautifully for a very natural finish. It is not the usual way that I use powder. For instance I did not buff this powder in, I simply patted it like a setting powder. So the end look is different and not luminous but not matte either. It was a very natural look like I had nothing at all on my skin and yet the skin was perfected. I will try this foundation in other ways including buffing in a more luminous powder. But, the overall look of using the system as one was a very pleasant experience, if that makes sense.

That looks really good, Rebecca! Do you have to use the puff, or could one use a brush like the BK beauty or any other foundation brush. I am not a big puff type person, as I prefer brushes instead of makeup sponges. Do you rinse after use? I’m just worried about that puff sitting in that bag after using it? I didn’t watch his video, so there is an accompanying concealer too?

Tracie, First of all you already know that I adore you but every single comment you make is like listening to myself. You and I are honestly separated at birth. I never use a puff because I hate when they look dirty. I remember the girls in high school who would take out their powder compact with that filthy puff sitting on top of it and I just wanna gag. Right? Do you remember those girls? And yes, I washed mine with the same brush shampoo that I use and it looks pretty good and dried really well. And for $10 I was willing to take the chance. Usually, however, I do not use puffs that come with make up. I kind of like the way this one applies this foundation as a sort of system but I am planning to experiment with using my BK beauty brush and some of my Sonia brushes to apply this foundation as well and I already have a viewer who tells me she bought the puff but prefers using her tried and true foundation brush. In Wayne‘s video, he says you can also use a damp beauty blender, your hands, whatever it is that you normally use. It’s made as a system and works beautifully with the puff, however, you do not have to use the puff. I have ordered another puff because I want to make sure they stay clean. If there is a dirty puff laying around I will not be able to handle it. And I would never seal it in the little black bag unless it is completely dry or it feels, to me, like it would mold and there’s a whole freak out factor by me on that, as you can imagine!

Even if something comes with a powder puff, I always use a portable brush, nope, I’m not sticking a puff back in a compact. The beauty blender sponge thingies are just not something I understand. I have a few and damn m, I’ve tried to use them and like them and without fail, every single time, I’m like why do people use these things. One, they get dirty and have to be replaced on a regular basis. Even if you buy an inexpensive one, that costs adds up. Nope, I’ll stick with my brushes. Two, I honestly don’t even appreciate the inconvenience of leaving my beauty space to go wet a damn sponge then rinse it out and let it dry. Why the extra steps. I’m a settler, and once I’m settled, I don’t want to get up and run to bathroom to wet a sponge. Three, is the juice really worth the squeeze? You wet this thingy, and bounce it across your face? I have never achieved a look I liked because it takes away the makeup. I love makeup. I want to look like I have makeup on. I don’t want a wet sponge on my face eeekk. Maybe it works wonders and it is lost on me, and that is entirely ok. Maybe folks put on their makeup in the bathroom or the kitchen, so they are close to water supply. Ok now that I’m off track because of the puff and spongy thing, I think this is probably a pass for me. I’m so stuck in my ways, I want my foundation to come out of bottle with a pump. I don’t want to dip something into my foundation. I know, first world petty problems. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I just checked out the shades and why soooo many neutral and cool shades!!! Neutral foundations take the life right out of my complexion and cool has too much red for me. I need something warmer. And I almost panicked when I read he suggested using hands, heck no. I would probably be found passed out on the floor at the thought of using my hands to apply makeup😂😂 I have issues, I know😍🤣

It’s soaks in the product and it is never clean. and it does not give a flawless look. I have never understood it. I use it on camera if the product intends use that way but never in real life. I don’t like the whole concept of anything that is spongy. The whole term sponge means “to soak in.“ And I don’t want anything soaked into anything. Because it needs to be clean. I bought shades 10 and 12 and tried it yesterday as soon as it arrived. LOVED the 10 and wore it yesterday. I did use a primer as I always do. It was gorgeous and I loved the setting powder. But I did use a primer as I always do. Puff was a bust for me. I went with my normal brush application and it was awesome. I also didn’t like working with the 12 as a concealer/redness cover. I wished I could return it, but its too late! I need to find a friend who has a porcelain skin tone or something. If you were going to pick a shade for a bronzer, which would you pick? I can’t decide between 4 and 5, but I am a 10, not a 9.

Good morning, Rabbi! Yes. I am not loving the shade 12 either, as you saw. Am hoping to work with it more to find a solution, which I will share with you, of course. As for bronzer, I have to keep reminding myself that shade one is the darkest. I am so clearly an English major and not a math major. Hahha. So I think I would be a 4 in the bronzer...which means you'd likely be a four or a three even?????. Wayne used four on himself in the demo with nine and it was just a kiss of color. I have to go look at the three tho before I recommend that. Would be if you loved a good bronze. Maybe stick with four and build? I wish I'd grabbed one of those too, or instead of 12. Agreed on that one.

Rabbi do you have a light cool undertone? I ordered shade 10 for foundation and 11 for concealer/high points. I am going to review it too but am anxiously awaiting that I made the right shade choice as it said cool undertones but sometimes they run yellow/warm

Hello there. The powder contains .25 grams. I'm using it very sparingly since I don't have combo or oily skin but I do like what a little sprinkle does for the foundation. I totally understand that you'd still be on the fence. It's TOUGH to really process how we feel about something in just two days. I LOVED the Lisa Eldridge foundation for like six weeks until, BAM, I became allergic to it and got very itchy.

I really really love it, Trish. I use the foundation all the time either with the sponge or with a brush. And I use the darker shade to bronze as well. The other day I wasn’t wearing any make up and I actually mixed that light shade 12 on my finger to warm it and dotted a little bit in the corner, inter corners, of my eyes to brighten them a bit.

Hello Aggie!! It isn’t transfer proof but isn’t terrible especially with the powder used over it, it makes a very nice natural surface. I am continuing to experiment especially because I have ordered a darker shade to use as a bronzer. Hello Kate! I have very normal skin. It is suggestible, however, and will go dry if drying products are used or can get greasy if too much of a thick moisturizer is used. But, left to its own devices, very normal.

Hey there, Jodi! When used with the powder, I found it set and didn't budge. I especially am paying attention around my eyes, nose and mouth. I tend to have to go sparingly since I wipe it all off around that area during the day, sniffing and such with my allergies. So far, so good but I will, of course, keep playing around and being foundation detective with it!

This foundation looks really nice on you? It does not look cakey on you either. Is it good for dry skin? Not all cream foundations are good for dry skin. I’m either a shade 8 or 9, me thinks. Hello Janice! Shade 9 is the one I am wearing in the video actually so that might help you decide. And it's the shade Wayne wore, too, in his insta tutorial. I am hoping that they restock quickly so you can get your hands on it. I think this is just fine for dry skin. You might not need the powder at all if you are very very dry.

I adore you and Wayne but NO excuse for the shade range, 12...... Seriously! Wayne charges $100 for a brush (we have spoke of that before) he has the funds to make more shades or wait until you do, no one forced him to make this product. At least 20 shades, he didn't have to make 100k units of every shade if he felt some would sell less but you don't exclude people.
