I start welding school today, super nervous since I’ve never welded anything in my life. Going blind into this, hope it all works out 🙏

Hey man I just discovered your channel I love your content very informative! Best part about welding is that it can open a lot of doors like you had mentioned heavy equipment repairs and that’s exactly what I do. I work for a municipality in Chicago doing maintenance but half the year I’m welding plows on 7 tons. I really like your channel man I hope to see more videos! Thanks for promoting the trade and sharing your wisdom dude god bless 🙏

I think the issue is no one wants a one truck pony. I always suggest to my students to learn more than just welding. Fit and fab and millwright work along with welding skills(X-ray quality) will get you the money you really want.

Excactly! I've been preaching that forever, thank you for pointing that out! Do you run a welding school?

I'm in sanitary stainless. 99% tig. It's been fun! I've worked in dairy, brewing, Marijuana/mushroom extraction, food processing facilities. Really niche, and there's not a lot of people [in Colorado at least] that do it.

That's awesome, thanks for sharing the more niche industries you work in!

Tig welding takes some crazy skill and in my opinion, is the hardest process. Kudos brother!

@@gillihansmobilewelding I agree, tig takes true skill

@@gillihansmobilewelding sanitary is super easy bro. It’s just hard to get into and get contracts. It’s really ran like a cartel. The Sanitary people have it on a choke hold. But it’s the funnest. I love sanitary work.

Morning brother. Great advice. Would like to get my own shop. They are so expensive in my area. Southern Oregon.
@Welderbeast Жыл бұрын
Good morning, I could only begin to imagine the cost of living in Oregon but hopefully it's supplemented by the ability to charge higher rates for welding!

Your 100% right. Welding is a small part of the fabrication world. Fit up and prep is 85% of welding

If you join the skill trades, outside a fab shop, be prepared to drive long distances or travel away from home. You're always working yourself out of a job. Fab shops or production welding don't pay much but you'll be home every night.
@Welderbeast Жыл бұрын
That is the nature of the beast I wish more weld schools would be more forward with. Welding does pay well if you'll travel for it otherwise the pay is not as great as is marketed when you fall into something local

Welderbeast is quite possibly the best welding company name in existence. I'm kinda mad that I didn't think of it. 😂 Straight up, handing out cards to EVERY business in all the towns around you will get you way too busy to hand out cards. If it slows down... (lean in for this one). . . . . Hand out more cards mf.😂 It works!

Lol I almost didn't go with the name, I was going to do something boring like Precision Welding. I threw this name out one day and my brother convinced me to run with it so I had the graphic designed and here we are 😂

Been at this for 6 years now, and I hate it. Ive been sick every other week for the entire time from the fumes, always woke up at stupid hours and i poured my heart and soul into becoming the best at this and after i did i lost my job and never made more than 21.50 an hour. Im a dissapointment to my family and wasted my skills and mind. If youre young you need to run away from this trade.
