I recently purchased the 4800 watt unit. I was a little wary at first but the bargain price and lack of negative reviews on Amazon convinced me to buy it. Wen is an old American brand and It has a Web site. The fact that it offers replacement parts is a huge plus. It starts fine via pushbutton and has dual fuel. I will only be running it on propane unless I need to use gasoline in an emergency. Great generator. I highly recommend it.

I used the Wen 3600 DF during a recent power outage in Nebraska. Powered the house through a generator interlock for 24 hours on propane. A 15 lb propane tank lasted about 10 hours. Also powers our 15k BTU RV air conditioner. Definitely get the DF version because the gas tank isn't large enough to run the house or RV overnight. Very happy so far.

@@SM-es9nk I ran two fridges, a deep freeze, lights, etc. Tried to run a microwave at the same time but it overloaded the generator. You would need to turn off a fridge to run the microwave. I'm good with that.

I did a little research on the Zonsen engine company (Wen DF360IX engine) and they also produce aerospace engines. I bought this generator because of the cost, but this is a NICE generator. It's quiet and starts on the 1st - 2nd pull, everything works great. My wife works from home and was not even aware that I had it running for break-in.

I just purchased the gas only unit and I have just completed the 8 hr break in and oil change as recommended in the service manual.. She runs smooth and quiet thus far.. Started right up on the first pull.. Looking to power my furnace and refrigerator and limited lights if the power goes this winter.. I have a couple of Jackery 1000 v2 batteries that I will use to power my TV and internet as well as my coffee maker and small microwave.. The generator will easily recharge them if needed..

I bought one of these. Out of the box , trying to start on propane . Followed the instructions to the letter . After 4 pulls on the cord it attempted to start, changed the selector to run snf pulled 15-20 more times and no start . Tried a few more time and finally got it to start. Ran it for hour . Let it cool , tried to restart and same issue . Called the WEN customer service to talk to a person. The guy was really nice and went over the starting over the phone . Had me try to start it while he was listening. It had the same issue . He is sending a new regulator and hose out to me , he thinks the regulator is not working properly . We will see !

This happened me yesterday. Started it for the first time on LP and was trying to read the instructions which said to pull it a few times in choke mode and then move to run to start which was confusing. I was trying to pull hard on it in run mode. I usually start generators on choke mode so I moved it to choke and pulled harder and I could tell lp was coming in & after the 3rd times in choke mode it started & then I moved it to run. WEN was closed but I’ll call and see what they say. Maybe the instructions are just confusing.

We have quick connect for propane on our camper. I noticed a comment from you about the built in in the generator and if it did you could just connect to the quick connect on your camper. So now I have another on my list along with using propane.

The little pulsar is hard to beat but no info center at all or fuel gauge. So little things like that are nice. The Maxpeeding rods gt4000 uses the same engine and loaded with features but I don’t need all that. But I would like the app data. Kinda nice. But both the champion and wen are nice and I’ll be doing a big video in about a month or so

They have a 3600 and similar 4000? Before moving up to heavier unit. Looking for lighter unit to keep in truck to use with RV on propane. Noise is a factor. The 100lb class is too heavy anymore.

On mine, I had to pull start it 30 times with propane, even with choke priming. I even tried it without choking it. Called the company and they said, there is a little hole on the regulator that allows you to manipulate the diaphragm. As you push it, you'll hear the hiss of the propane. Hold it for about 10 seconds, then do the normal prime on the generator. Then it usually starts in 3 pulls. Thoughts?

Some regulators have a push button on the back. These do not. It allows to prime the air out. The hole in the back is very small and honestly a small pin and spring should be on these just for this reason. If someone pokes the wrong holes or presses too hard they may damage it. Not sure why some start right up and others are having trouble.

Mine did the same thing, that fix didnt work but they told me the same thing. The next thing i tried was grounding the spark plug. Touched it to metal while pulling the ripcord slowly, then put it back. Started right up. So either the boot wasnt all the way on the plug until i reassembled it, or “grounding the plug” fixed it. Either way, i love my jenny now

I have a quick connect on the side of my RV coming from the regulator on my tanks. Can I plug this straight in or do I have to use the hose and regulator that comes with it?

You can plug in from there but unfortunately with the set up from when you have to remove the external propane regulator and put on a new hose with a fitting that will work.

Another great video!! We ended up getting the Champion 4000 competitor. How do you think these stack up against each other? I wish there were estimated run times on the champion comparing gas to LP but I imagine they may be pretty similar. What are your end thoughts on which is better between these two?

I think the champion may do a little better on power. I don’t like the shorter propane line but it still works. I’ll be doing a side by side very soon! 👍🏼

It’s minimal like 1-2 db difference But you need to open them out of the box and run them so you know they work. That way if there is an issue you deal with it in the return window. Not 6 months later and then your in the dark, literally

Zonsen is the marker which I think is a Shinray company like the champion I’ll do a side by side of that soon and then the GenMax and pulsar stuff The GenMax 145cc engine seems to still do really well over all. Just some GenMax models seem louder than others

It puts out pure sine wave power so it’s good for about everything. If it’s really expensive computers running services or something then maybe a designated power supply that can be charged would be better. For the average person with normal equipment these are fine

Can the QC LP hose be taken off the regulator, I use the built-in gas outlet on my 5th to fuel any dual fuel gens I run, so I don't need to use the regulator that comes with the gen...??? Additionally, being dual fuel, is there a fuel selection switch, or is it self selecting, and which fuel is the primary, gas or LP...???

When generators are running on propane, does one need to be concerned about carbon monoxide? I was wondering if I could run this or a larger unit on propane in the garage with the door shut?

It’s still a ICE engine so it still emits Carbon Monoxide. Although propane is much safer over all compared to gasoline you should still leave it several feet away from the house. But I have seen people do some odd things. Outside a few feet away at least is best.

Just got the wen 4800 and i do not understand the front panel that shows numbers for run time and watts used. I really hate not knowing how much fuel is in tank. Trying to survive from all the hurricane damage, not fun lol.

The fuel indicator is a vertical line of LED's along the right side of the front panel. It does say "fuel" in small letters there. If you are using propane, you will probably only see one LED lit. At least that is how it appears on my 4800.

At idle? Most gens are set up pretty lean at idle so it’s normal. And normally when the gen is running it has a load so it will then rev up and little and smooth out
