Ha ha, I liked to passed out when you put the little thumbnail of that 3window coupe in the video. Looks almost like my 49 Plymouth business coupe, including the fender skirts! Her name is myrtle! She sports a 350/350 Chevy drive train, 373 jeep rear end, disc brakes, converted to 12 volt, painted 70 barracuda plum crazy, wide whites and pinstripes. You’ll have a blast doin this one. Well all be watching!

@briquetaverne2 жыл бұрын
Brent, If you can reconstruct (restore) this coupe into anything close to the condition you arrived at with your '38 Pontiac 3 window coupe, then you're an absolute genius artist in my eyes (and I'm sure plenty of others who watch your episodes will agree). When you come to choosing a color, kindly choose a lighter color over a darker one. People get to see the lines far better when colors are light.
@jimbojones1012 жыл бұрын
Lime green. Lol
@dennisgreen16492 жыл бұрын
Speaking of the Pontiac is it still stashed away there somewhere, it was acool build.
@briquetaverne2 жыл бұрын
@@jimbojones101 You're not too far off in the color Green. A very popular Green color of the past was this sort of lima bean Green that went perfectly with these cars. If you go onto the YT channel of "Strong's Garage' they have a beautiful original '48 Chevy for sale that's in this lighter green color. I personally would like to see a bamboo yellow (sort of brownish-yellow) which cars of that era also used. The '36-'37's, Cord 810-12's used that yellow color.

Before you scrap the Caddy and van are the door and roof panels adaptable to use to re skin the doors you have. That metal usually has compound curves and can be modified to suit? The caravan has seats with flat spring construction that I have used in substitute for the coil seat spring construction. Going to be an interesting build.

Brent, i hate to say it bud, but that 38 you just acquired is complete. Maybe they are dime a dozen over there but to me, even if its a common model, its still so different to anything on the road these days that it deserves to get driven. I'd be inclined to not hack it up, just my two cents! What i'd do personally, and that 38 would be perfect in my eyes, is do it up and rent it out for weddings or sell it to folks in the wedding business. A classic car like that with modern drivechain/mechanics, win win for any business owner. But i know your passion is customising.... Look forward to the project!!
