Do you mind me asking what range of price a woodland would be? I guess it would put it in the proper perspective if I knew where your woodland is. I live in Canada where woodland, off the beaten path, is rather inexpensive, I'm sure, compared to England.

By than there may be nothing left for you to buy...and you won't be able to go walk about as everything will be fenced off and off limits to general public....very strange idea of selling off national treasures of these sort....

Interesting video. Seems like a worthy purchase in both cases.

Good to see the effort to negate the ivy that was climbing up the trees.

One day , you never know . The woods calm and teach , you can tidy and craft but after you return to the soil the woodland remains . Ownership will help against corporate rape , hopefully .

Very, very strange idea! Does it mean soon there won't be anything left for general public and people to just walk around? as everywhere you will be tress passing?..? not sure what to think about those sells...these are national treasures...should belong to councils and everyone....said that, I am very happy for the people who managed to grab a piece of these lands! Pure magic..:-)

but surely where the countless miles of walking paths are, the woods are free to enter and enjoy..I've done so myself in Kent - no obstacles are created by these folks, quite the opposite it seems.

Sorry you received a snarky response, I was also interested to hear sizes/prices.

Most of the ones we’ve looked at are 2-4 acres. Being prospective first time buyers we don’t want to take on too much. Normally there have been half a dozen or so plots within one “wood”, a mix of small ones and larger 5 to 6 acres. The pathways between neighbouring plots are maintained by Woodlands themselves. The do also deal with bigger woodlands tho - but would need a lottery win to consider those !

How lovely and pristine the woodland pictures are. Once humans get in there it won't be that way for long. Vegetation crushed, wildlife disturbed and displaced, pile of poop and toilet paper to jump over. Humans are the worst thing for a woodland. It is a rare person who preserves them. Most want to cut and manipulate and destroy the nature. Governments should protect and preserve what little wilderness there is left on this planet.

I think you misunderstand completely the sorts of people who buy these woods. Governments are the worst custodians of anything like this.

Most who live in the wood , live with the wood , no barriers , if councils owned the woods they'd be sold for housing or industry before you could say conniving bastard .

Seems strange that the 1st thing you did was segregate. Like millions of people getting in your way.
