Ive just purchased 3.5 acres of woodland in northumberland with the option to buy 7.5 which makes the whole wood its been neglected for years so ive started cleaning it up it has a ditch running through the middle that has water in it a lot of the year so ive dug a pond which is a nice addition and i love just sitting down there nearly every day with my dogs ..i wasn't sure id made a wise purchase but a year on from buying it i know it was the best 1 ive ever made looking forward to camping in there this spring time..Great video cheers

Hi guys, I’m just getting into the idea of living off grid etc Can I ask how you gained the right to live on your woodlands? Many thanks Simon
@carlrichards93333 ай бұрын
You won't be retiring , instead you'll be living the life that's full of wholesomeness...it's funny this idea, its like something that's offered to us as a sort of a prize for 40 - 50 years hard graft for many...don't buy into this Nonsense and if you have the cash by the land now and start living like this fella is saying saying

@@simonray398 If free of any structures ~ just wooded land ~ then wooded lots (what some in real estate call "undevelopable") are very affordable. Just consider this ~ until the 1980s, Alaska used to give up to 5 acres of land away for free to anyone willing to build & stay for at least 5 years.

I am 65 and have over 100 acres of woodland. There is a little spot where 2 creeks converge that I have wanted to do something like this. Health issues have me doing a lot of nothing. Watching your videos have made me want to get at it. From that spot you would have to go several miles east , north or west to find a house or road , nothing but woodland and forest. I have been gathering gear and tools I will need. Love watching your videos, binge watching them today.

I'm aiming to buy woodland one day to do build my own off grid setup. If you ever want to sell 20 acres to a fellow off-grid minded nearly 50 year old guy, give me a shout if you're in the UK. I got some health issues too but hoping a return to nature will help cure things. Wishing you a speedy recovery too mate.

Been watching your vids from lockdown over the past week ~ great content! I live on a wooded 7 acre lot & you've given me a load of ideas. One idea I'd like to pass on ~ re: your pizza oven ~ forget fire bricks, they're way too expensive. Use lava rocks & place a pizza stone on top ~ same function, a fraction of the cost.

Love this one and you could have shown even more...would never get bored watching it. 4 years already, doesn't seem that long since the other place that got destroyed....time I moving so fast. The kids have done brilliantly, each doing their own thing, having learned so much from what they've learned from being outdoors...beautiful way to be brought up...out in nature, as we were all intended. Looks like you still have a bit to do again, keeps you going. How lovely is it to see deer and other animals in your camp and Buster being so happy, in a safe environment. Missed your videos, good to see you back again and hope you'll add more soon. Best wishes as always buddy

Hello - Just found your channel. I've been looking into investing in a cotton canvas tent and woodstove for long term camping. I've discovered that in UK we only have access to Bell tent shaped rather than the A frame (house) shaped tents I feel it's a big advantage to be able to stand up in your shelter. This is only possible in the centre of a bell shaped tent. I'm also looking at investing in some tarps. Love the natural materials shelter. Sort of thing we'd build as children. What are your thoughts on waterproofed cotton v plastic tarps? All the Best. I'll be watching more of your videos.

New viewer. From London, so not too many private woodlands around. Loving the laid back lifestyle you've made for yourself. Whereabouts in the UK are you from? I'm assuming down south somewhere.

Love that camp set up, been looking to buy a plot for some time now but is not that easy to find suitable location & has enough flat for a good camp setup. Also now i will be reaching retirement so can dedicate time to the forest, impossible to spend quality time in the forest when you run a company & need to pay the bills !.

Do you rent the land from your friend or is it completely free? Thats a really generous allowance. Do you have some kind of hunting licence? Can you hunt small game? Are you still planning to buy land or are you fine with continuing to have the access of your friends land? What happened to your Tentipi? Did you ever watch the swedish guy "Nagualero" ? He sadly passed away about a year ago.
@BushwackerMan Жыл бұрын
I use the land for free and do a few jobs. The land has hunting rights. Eventually i would love to own my own few acres. I had the tipi on loan from a company for 2 months. Nagualero is a legend 👍👍
@bonilsson3161 Жыл бұрын
@@BushwackerMan Agree completely on Nagualero, his videos was...soo much. They were relaxing, informative, inspiering and more. Great way to "pay" your friend landowner to do some work there, sounds good. Is it legal to hunt with bow and arrow in the UK? Its not in sweden.

what is the issue with 15 minute cities I don't get the hate for them I think in places like America it would help a lot of people they have miles of just houses people treat 15 min cities as a prison thing like you can't just leave whenever you want it just means everything you need is close by
