Long time watcher, first time commenting LOL!... that trick you have of cutting the v groove down the ply sheets to make it look like you have three boards, is stunning especially with the stain applied to them, and i will be nicking that idea for my own workshop! :) Well done, stunning workshop you have there! Dumped my petrol lawnmower this year for Erbaurer battery machine, great results, now moved all gardening to them. Now passing my power tools onto my son and replacing them bit by bit with Erbaurer and one battery fit's all, one charger for all. Love the new workshops, looking forward to seeing some quality productions from it.

Great video - I think a good idea would be to make a couple of 'flip over' carts for the smaller machines like the Thicknesser and Belt Sander then the Bench drill and small Bandsaw, so they take up less room and can be wheeled out when you need them. It's frightening how much smaller a workshop becomes when you put everything back in but with careful planning it can work. Beautiful workshop by the way - I'm very jealous.

The workshop centre space is crying out for a sizeable (1/2 sheet?) MFT style work/assembly table on castors, with drawers and further storage underneath and possible underslung router and end mounted circ. saw. I counted myself as a traditionalist when it came to my workbench but after watching Peter Millard's channel my recent 8x4 Birch ply topped MFT has been a game changer for me. It's on 6 lockable castors and even has a Record quick release vice to boot. Wish I'd made one years ago, but lucky to have the space for it! Happy organising!

It’s got to be something that can collapse down for me hence why the Bora. Still MFT possible though. 👍 just want to be able to frame up bigger timbers in the middle of workshop.

For the window film you could use some Neutral Density filter used with stage/TV lights. You can buy it in different stop increments so if you metered between the "studio" light and outside light you could estimate which one to use. doesn't change colour temp but controls the intensity. Commonly used on windows in background of TV studios e.g. pop up studios at s footie match. But your a photographer so you will know what ND filters are, you just might not know you can buy in big sheets! Not sure if you can get it in an adhesive film but then you might only want to put it up for filming. Hope this is useful

Looking great. Far more organized than my shop. I'm fortunate enough to have an 800sqft (74Msq) shop with the ability to add another 350 sqft ish to it. Half the concrete floor is there already. No matter how much space you have your stuff will inflate to fill it. I like the skylights and would love to have them but we get too much hail for them and I have to do everything I can to keep the heat out of the shop. Wanting to cover it with solar panels anyway.

Great workshop Tim, but any shop will always be too small. One thing I would recommend, don’t leave any chargers on charging whilst you’re not in the shop. Mate of mine burnt down his workshop last year when he left a name brand charger on overnight. Fire brigade determined it was the charger at fault for the fire. I make sure I turn all mine off each night.

Very late information request, what are the saws that look a bit like a large paint scraper called ? i have not seen anything similar in local DIY shops. As an old house owner at certain times during the year a couple of doors bind on the quarry tile floor slightly not enough to warrant taking the door down so one of those saws ? maybe enough to ease the binding, Thanks for the informative videos.

Tim... looking..........small (now)😉 Always make you wonder if you should have gone bigger, eh? But anyway, looking good👍 One thing though. That fire extinguisher ..... I'd move it to the other (open) side of the door. That way should you walk in on a fire it would be to hand saving you having to enter fully into a possibly toxic smoke filled enclosed space whilst trying to fumble it out of its bracket? Just a thought... from personal experience 😧. Anyway great vid BTW. 👍

Hi Tim, if you are changing your table saw try the evolution rage 5, I have been using one for the last 8 months and would highly recommend it. It is a nice crossover from a site saw and full on professional table saw. They take a bit of setting up to get the fence square and correctly positioned but once sorted they work very well, it is managing to cut 3 and a half inch oak on repeat cuts with no over heating.

Seeing you make so much wood dust in your workshop is concerning. Even with dust extraction and wearing a mask, a huge amount of dust lingers in the air and settles on every surface, ready to be kicked back up when you walk into the shop the next time and breathed in. I know there is no easy answer, other than not making dust indoors where it can accumulate, but it's something you should think about. Think what could happen in 10 or 15 years time... Not a feel good comment I know but it's the harsh reality, and something I try to keep in mind whenever I'm even drilling a hole in wood or grinding/sanding metal. And a word on shop dust extraction: most systems keep the shop clean and make it look like it's not dusty, but the smallest dust that's hard to see and the most damaging remains, and plenty of it!
