As someone who couldn’t recruit a single person into my company I ran with family and friends, I can say that’s super true. Clover kingdom was so popular out the gate they had a zone in the first 30 minutes of us playing at launch and went on to take 3 more zones under Clover kingdom 2, 3 and 4. Our company stood no chance with 7 people, couldn’t gain enough influence to declare war for a zone, and even if we did the monopoly CK wouldn’t even send troops, so we would lose and they get their chance. It’s not a fair system at all

Don’t know why people are so excited for New World’s PVP when it’s a zero-sum game. You don’t get anything out of killing a player nor do you lose anything when you die. Since that’s the case, your time would simply be better spent only doing PVE or playing another game that rewards PVP or does not require grinding in a MMO. Hard pass for me.

Plus the crafting is a never ending loop of mastering sword, unlocking the next type of sword before you even get a decent gear score to use it and so on and so forth. It’s a goose chase to even craft something decent that will be useless when you level up gathering and making it, just so it will be obsolete by a random drop from a common enemy

This doesn't look like it's going to last. The buzz isn't there. If it does grow slowly, like ESO, it might go somewhere, but this game faces plenty of issues. The game isn't completed, even by the admission of its own fanbase. The quests and actual world don't look exciting. This is going to be an adventure for both players and devs.

to me the world definitely looks exciting and i dont mind the typical mmorpg quests, my issue is: how much content does this game offer? if you are putting it away after 50h then it would've definitely missed its mark as mmorpgs are meant to be played hundreds of hours before you run out of motivation. i will definitely wait on this one to see what the overall reactions will be for the released version and also observe whether amazon does keep this game alive with constant (!) content updates. at least its not a full price title (which in itself is a welcome thing, but then also shows that the game might be smaller than many wish) also having played Lost Ark over on the russian server, it has tons of endgame content, its basically exactly the type mmorpg that WoW used to be, just from an isometric perspective.

I think id have been a bigger fan if they had class systems instead of "everyone is the same character" - dude says there is plenty to do but i feel like this game doesnt have a lot of replayability when U hit lvl 60. Creating a mage or a range isnt the same when U can just get those weaponds on ur main and everyone runs the same loadout.

@@talljohn29 I agree with you to a certain point, the comparison is a bit different in my opinion games like black desert, wow, ff14 sure u can roll the strongest/flavor of the month class if you want, you are completely right, however the amount of work and time you have to put in a character in those games to be viable is insane, and u will still be screwed by balancing patches, while new world you just play the same character you can max out the weapon mastery and just equip whatever you want /feels stronger without much of a hassle, as you said any other game can be like this but from my personal experience from new world I just have to play the game and pick whatever is strongest, I know it sounds negative and biased and I do apologise, I loved the world and the way it looks the crafting system is solid, the combat s just not for me, as a big dark souls fans there are no stakes in new world combat

My group of friends and I all preordered so we could get into Open Beta. Loved every nanosecond once I found weapons that "fit". Rapier+Musket just seems so refined and elegant, but also brutal with how rapiers cause bleeding and musket skills can set bear traps or set enemies on fire with a "hot" shot. I saw a lot of players swearing by Hammers and Great Axes, and the magic weapons seem neat too. I can't wait to see what other weapons come in the future. Hopefully a greatsword, crossbow, pistols, and maybe some off-hand equipment usable with hatchets and rapiers (Imagine a dagger to go with Hatchets, or a pistol to go with Rapier).

let's make something extremelly clear for everyone. You CANT burn a GPU if you're monitoring it and checking the status, if your GPU is running 100% usage delivering crazy ammount of unsynced FPS and pushing itself to the absolute limit in many hours of gameplay, in many days.... then yeah you'll burn it no matter the game. Use FPS limiter and tweak graphics settings enough to mantain that FPS limit constant 24/7 and you should have enough % free for the GPU to rest a bit, check temperatures if needed you worried (some cities are hot as fck in summer) and try to stay at least 1gb appart from the full VRAM usage, if your GPU have 12gb vram change Texture/Shadow Res/AntiAliasing/ScreenResolutionScale, to reach 11gb Vram as maximum and avoid reaching the limit of video ram for the entire gameplay. This apply to any software using the GPU, is just logic, if you over-use a device constantly pushing the maximum capacity of it, it'll eventually burn/break/produce errors/turn itself off, etc....

It heavily borrows from ESO and PWI. I thought individual servers died out 15 years ago, seems some developers are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. The game mechanics are outdated already. If dexterity makes ranged weapons stronger, and you want to use ranged weapons, why the hell would you dump stats in strength? The answer is you wouldn't. Which means you don't actually have freedom of choice here. Few games actually give you that freedom. I'm uncertain if it actually originated in D&D, but a lot of games follow suit. However, at least in D&D it's possible to use stats that don't benefit your main attack method, a bow user very much can put stats in strength or intelligence, because of the out of combat RP moments where those might be useful. This game has active combat (apparently) which is exactly where it's possible to break that mold. Maybe dexterity makes your aim more precise, making it easier to hit targets at long range, but strength lets you draw the bow string back a fraction of a second faster. Maybe your high dex greatsword wielder can dodge a bit farther and attack just a bit faster, but someone else's high strength greatsword guy knocks a blocking opponent around more, eventually staggering them and deals a bit more damage when they hit. I bet focus is helpful for all weapon choices and fighting styles. More stats should be like focus, where you don't want to just throw everything into it, nor are you completely wasting points for putting some there if you choose. Everything else sounds decent enough I guess, I just want to see games move away from the super simplistic representation of stats like this.

YAAAAAWN!! Yet ANOTHER MMO survival game based in olden times with swords, axes, hammers & shields. If it's not this it's F'N' zombies. I haven't bought a game since Conan Exiles, and at this rate it looks like I never will. I love MMO survival games but we need something NEW!! Set in a modern or even futuristic world with NEW ways of gathering, with NEW building styles to make or upgrade destroyed building shells. How about Terminator? How about a survival game set during the war of the machines? Capture and re-program machines, build underground bases as you build your army and acquire guns, progress through the game until you can start a new civilisation above ground, with an army of re-programmed machines and fellow humans. I'm so sick of magic or god damn zombies!!

So i picked an east coast server cuz all my friends are on the east coast ( i live on the west coast now), after an hour+ long que, i get in. The game seems ok, until i group up with my friends then omg the lag is the worst i felt since star wars the old replubic day one (and good luck if you have pvp on lol). Now i do not play on a potato, unbelievable how bad the servers are. You would think a company like Amazon might have enough money to fix there servers, wrong. And the kicker is i can't get a refund on steam cuz i played for more than 2 hours (first hour and a half was in que to log in). So, buyer beware. I hope the game gets better, i really do - but this isn't my first rodeo.

Great video! As someone who doesn't keep up with gaming news, I had no idea New World even existed until I accidentally (not kidding) clicked on my Steam bookmark today. Seeing as it launched just a couple hours ago, I figured it was fate that I stumbled upon it. I wanted to to a little research first though, and your video has convinced me to buy it. I need GameSpot to do some super journalist investigating to find out if there will EVENTUALLY be different races in the game in the future. The game seems like it has potential but after trying out Mortal Online 2, I'd very much prefer a game with extensive character creation where the race you play as can have a substantial impact on beginner stats.
