This was a very good and pretty thorough beginner video. One quick tip most people aren't aware of regarding gear equipped weight class thing. Do NOT wear a shield if you're not using sword and shield because it counts as your equipped weight potentially putting you into a higher weight bracket for no actual use. Cheers!

I've been playing this game for 3 weeks and love it so far, what I don't like is how the main story forced me to do an expedition. It took me almost a whole week of just doing side quest, faction bounties and town projects so I can level up higher than 25 so I can complete the 1st expedition. I just wish the main story was a solo player activity and not force players, specially solo players like me to do an expedition. Another tip is, when you arrive at your first settlement, I would recommend getting your mining, skinning, logging and harvesting to level 100 before going to other settlements. There were times where I saw starmetal and blue trees and I couldn't get them cause my level was too low

Intimidating? No, not all. The game does a fantastic job of getting you into the game, showing you how to navigate the world and it's missions, how factions work, how crafting works, and the basic mechanics of them game. Tbh this game isn’t really that deep, but damn I’m addicted. Idk if it’s because it’s the first mmo I’ve been able to start playing on launch (I was years late to wow) but dang I love it. I worry about long term though as it seems pretty much pvp oriented and I’m more of a pve player. I hope more dungeons and raids are added in the future.

I agree the xp territory buff is a trap! Ok you lvl faster but once you are max lvl this buff is wasted. I rather opt for storage or gathering speed, since both are still very valuable at max lvl.

So, I see that I can repair a weapon or piece of clothing but how do I know if the item is damaged and needs repair? If I hover over my iron sword it may say “repair or option to repair” but I don’t see a dialogue box or anything showing how damaged it is.

I find it weird that there is a 1 Handed and 2 Handed weapon type, but only the sword can use the shield as well.. why not have it be wieldable with all one handed weapons and keep the skills as they are now?

Slowly but I guess it would be possible. The quests are really simple. Go here kill x amount of enemies or kill this boss, skin this animal, craft this, gather this resource etc. That said they are definitely the fast way to level. Killing mobs will take a very long time when you could be grabbing quests that involve killing said mobs anyway

Im really cpnfused about the steam reviews. It says mixed, 2/3 says possitive. Im an eso fan, i played it for a long time but i feel like the controls and combat system feels off right now. I wanna play something which will prize me for my grind and mechanical skills. Eso is more like grind based. I will be waiting for new elder scrolls game or a huge update on eso, but till that time, i would like to know about this game

The reviews are mostly complaints about queue times more than anything. I'm only a couple hours into the game so I can't answer your other question but this one does seem a little grindy, in that you'll be spending a lot of time working on crafting skills. But that was one of my favorite parts of WoW so I don't mind.

A game finally utilized the greatest and brilliant Realm vs. Realm mechanics from the game Dark Age of Camelot. That game was decades ahead of its time and New World is using the greatest parts like faction bonuses from claiming territory and giant realm wars with the War aspect of the game. Neverending fun and you feel like the things you do have a huge effect on the game with taxes.

My actual criticism of the game so far is 1. how fast mobs respawn I don't like. 2. As I'm really enjoying the musket I wish the mobs had a turn rate speed instead of instant change of direction it makes landing my shots a bit of coin flip. 3. I've noticed 3 times today a mob would take damage initially then reset whilst very close to the mobs spawn.
