As someone with 5200 hours in - love the combat. There are so many easy things they could have done as simple as a new OPR map or ranked PvP or actual legit 20 man raids. Brimstone was like a 2nd chance, and angry earth was a 3rd - I really really don’t see people giving this game a 4th chance

The Problem with New World is that Amazon hired Developers that never trully played an MMO... this was clear 8 mins after starting the game for the first time... how do I open the inventory "WHILE RUNNING"... and then realise that it was impossible... checking mats for a quest u were doing... impossible on the go, u had to stop... So the reality is that they never actually played an MMO or their own MMO.. and it took them a year and a half to put this feature... Then Mounts... who da fck makes an MMO with no Mounts??? if you make no mounts, you give them gliding wings to lift you up in the air and then glide, give the players a way to move faster. That fear that the initial map is not big enough to make mounts a thing, will make you lose a giant base of players... when you have to grind and go out there to farm.. you want to go faster... Mounts even if they are a low 20% speed is something... someone said that 300k people stopped playing(at the beginning) because of having no mounts.... they could have enlarged the maps a bit and put some mounts... and mounts have been introduced so late, like 2 years too late... and only 3 types of mounts with color variations... wtf... lol WIth that said, then we go to the slow introduction of dungeons. An MMO needs around 4 to 8 dungeons a year... because they are content... But when I was playing hard, I had to go to a new dungeon and farm the gear from that new dungeon to get the special resistances to do the upper harder levels and that killed me a bit inside everytime... players in MMO they don't want to have different sets for PVE in dmg... I am ok with the profession sets... different ones... but for dmg and dungeons, is a no no... with gems was good enough to reduce some school of magic, or fire dmg etc but they were putting more than one dmg modifier... Then you have the ability to set up different sets of gear which they did but this arrived too late and they even put it behind a paywall... this should have been a feature from day 1 if they were planning to force us to have different profession sets and later on different PVE sets plus a PVP set etc.... Transmogs... This feature was implemented also too fcking late and they slapped a paywall on top to screw players... all MMOs have this for free as they have so much content that a paywall on transmogs is an insult. So they have implemented Paywalls and things they should have or at least not a 5k coins on some paywalls... The problem with moving items when using portals was too expensive, and from city to city the same. This was fix in the last year or so, but it made it tediours for the original big player base to do stuff... to a point that people were forced to run from city to city to save Azoth... and with no freaking mounts... but they cheap cost implementation and no cost to from any city inventory to any other city inventory feature, came also too late... then the 500 different items limits on city or personal inventory that was stoopid also. Bugs with items placements inside houses... and long loads and stuck in houses... that wasn't fun... So this game has suffered from incompetent game developers that never played an mmo more than a few hours and even this/their own mmo, as a decent player could have told them all this... and yes we did... back then we did and because they never played MMOs, they never realised how this would tank their game... A New MMOs has to have, Inventory check while running, Free Transmogs, Free management of Gear sets, Mounts from day 1 or week 1. More new dungeons every yearly. Items transport problems. And PVP problems, which no need for me to go over this at this point lol. Well this is my take on why the game failed and why it could have been saved if the developers actually played MMOs... at least if they were forced to play 6 months of WoW like the owner of FF14 did with his developers... maybe this Amazon developers needed a full year of playing a true MMO like WoW, so they would't kill their own game with incompetence... Yes this game 3D quality is good and volumetric lightning effects are great.... but many armor sets are not fun, they are like old crap with a twist but too lame and no exciting for players to go after... they should have hired a South korean or japanese artist to make their armor sets... as many are lame... Sry for the typos... :)

New world at launch was amazing!, but before long we realized we were sailing on a ship riddled with holes and the frame of a car. I applaud all the holes patched, qol changes, and many aspects are very good, but at the end of the day New World is still a patched-up car floating in the water.

The problem is AGS has made it too difficult to aquire good gear. 99% of gear drops are junk and they have made it very difficult to craft, the mats are expensive, certain perk drops are too rare and too expensive to aquire for the average casual player. There are too many factors involved with craft such as the time I spent over 60k to craft a piece with a prismatic Scarab and azoth inductor only to have someone flip the fort and despite the craft window saying my item will be 700, it came out as 695. that would make any average casual player quit the game.

I already made topic into they discord saying that new world server will end/close before the end of year unfortunately until AGS wake up but I doubt they will. They focusing to much on feature that the game doesn't needed at the moment for example "controller support". People get feed up of waiting and decide to leave and the fault lies entirely with AGS devs. Imaging have a full month of testing and still need to delay pve stuff they make that same mistake with season 4 and look where this is going... overall the game has enormous potential, but the efforts are not put in the right place

Been playing online games since 1991. Missed the dial up modem!! Times when if you had a 12.5k modem you rocked LOL!! Anyway, games that will survive, will have something, ANYTHING that makes a group of people that have to rely on each other and have an interest that will keep them coming back. I.E. UO, you were always on the lookout for thieves. They could pick your locks, stealth, pick ur pockets, your chest in your house. Thats why you always logged in to try to see if they got killed by your dragons you put in your castle to guard it. Shadows bae, where it took tons of mats to build a city that was so huge, it had barracks, wizard towers, archer barracks, which you could send on patrol, vendor, crafting stations, it was awesome. However, you needed people that would invest in such a task and benefit from it. Well, it seems we lost that in these games. When you see cross sever pvp, pve it is over. I know this much, if they don't UNFUCK this situation, I will cancel my Amazon Prime account all together, and will never buy or use another product with amazon on it again. Just like EA when they screwed up UO and earth and beyond! I am looking at start your own fire, we will see. FYI, I came to N.W. with 168 buds, I am the only one left.

Interesting that they take the boss that dropped the weaponsmith hat out of the game 5 months or more ago, but never ever cared enough to have another boss drop the hat. That is the type of devs at AGS. It would have been so simple to just add it to another boss, but ZFG should be the name of AGS. Everything in the game is just a mess, so they make another mess to update the mess. It all seems like some student that wasted time up until the day before a due date, then just throw in some FUBAR assignment, just to hope to get the lowest passing grade.

There is zero content coming with Season 5, except for a winter-themed trial from Season 4 that we will hopefully get this summer (we just don’t know when, don’t tell us anything). All other items on the roadmap are game fixes or improvements. So, this summer (maybe!) NW will have the winter trial when other games probably enjoy a beach party event. I’m not angry. I have given up and am just so disappointed.

for me it was not content, but the crafting changes.... crafting previously was a expensive gamble and after the expansion it became even more expensive and more materials, so it's just not worth it... not after you need faction points to get some of the material - that was the end for me, I hate the faction missions, It become boring and repetitive just to get crafting material in which you are not guaranteed of legendary role. Players were also getting ridiculous with trade prices. Oh and "luck", I never had it, not in this game, even when I had everything in luck, I was the most unlucky.

As u said top1 problrm is no progression, worm, hatchery and even m3 dungeons are right now dead so for pve players there is zero endgame. They keep ctrl c ctrl v dungeons that ppl play just m1 for artifacts and then they are done. This game need to fix progression and more solo content. I miss old times when i could spam 50 m10, find good loot and sell it for tons of gold. It was fun, now all is broken. If u dont have premade group then u will not find m3 pug even if u wait 24h or u will get some bots with muskets.

I love love new world, but they really need new pvp modes. Been playing since Alpha, and the game has come far, and its soo close... I really think they need like a league of legends combat map/mode.... so more people than arena like 5v5, or 7v7, with the same constant re-spawning like an OPR to try and take over a base... Like a map with 2 of the Forts on it... Mobs that are trying to invade the Forts back and forth... Rewards to keep people doing it of course can always be tough to figure out, but probably honestly need to make it really grindy to progress to get the rewards.

I still log in a few times a week but not every day anymore. I have 4,100 hours and this is my point of view with the game. I don't understand why they keep pumping out seasonal/one time/exclusive/time gated content. Wars are so exclusive only a small margin of player base has ever gotten to try it, and the issues with war's and owning territory has been hounded to death by everyone so I will leave it at that. Making entire quest lines that exist only for a season only to be removed afterwards. How much work was just literally thrown away? A massive L for no reason that they take is time gating. Having gear locked in mutated dungeons that are on a rotation of being out once a month for a week or less is crazy, and even worse when patch day is Wednesday after rotation happened on Tuesday, you had a single day to farm what you wanted, didn't get it? too bad, sucks for you. I actually just decided I wanted the artifact Ice Gauntlet last week, well the dungeon wasn't in rotation last week, not in rotation this week, I have the rest of the gear ready but now I don't really want to log in because I can't get what I want for at least another week, and by then I don't know if I will still want to play the game. I have known people who needed gear from a dungeon, and they ran it a few times when they could and when it didn't drop and it went out of rotation their motivation to log in and play just crashed and asking people to wait a month before being able to try again is just flat stupid. Most people don't have time to play multiple hours every day or even every week, there is no reason to time gate everything. This also goes into using seals to upgrade gear, why is this still time gated? I know at the start you wanted to slow people down on getting geared out but at this point in time it needs to stop. Also expanding on this, for players who want artifacts from PVP the fact that it's RNG based that requires hours and hours for weeks and weeks to get PVP artifacts is INSANE. The grind for that gear was terrible most people I know hated it because it was entirely RNG based some people were really lucky and got what they wanted fairly fast but the fact that there isn't a PVP shop to just buy what it is you want with salt when you have the ranks is terrible game design. Also I will disagree with Jay here on gear, I think for people that multi class and need multiple builds, or just like to theory craft, gear needs to be more accessible and easily changed out. I play pvp mage so my variations are (FS/BB Heavy/Med/Light) ( FS/VG Heavy/Med) FS/IG (Med/Light) That's 7 sets of gear for what I currently have just for Mage I also have AOE healer build, and Musket/VG build, literally millions of golds worth. This game with a ever shifting meta and the theory crafting builds just to try out to see if they are good or not, is massively expensive. I have not seen a MMO like this that almost encourages buying gold like this game, I know more people in the game now that buy gold then I know who don't. (Just to be clear on this, I never have, don't plan to, but fully understand why people do). Another thing is all of their content is vertical progression, most of the games lateral progression doesn't feel rewarding. Of all the games that have titles in them, this game is crammed full of meaningless worthless titles that even when you see one that was hard earned its one in a sea of trash that most people won't know or appreciate it. I have the title cutlass famous for having 200 reputation in the town, it didn't feel rewarding to earn and it's not showy in anyway and gives no benefits like tax reduction on housing/TP/crafting nothing, it feels like, and is, a worthless title that nobody who sees it would think "Oh I want that" I think that's enough for now but most the other issues have been hit on already, OPR map/game mode. In three years they gave us arena, and later gave it another map. Don't work too hard AGS...

Its Sad to see this but not unexpected. Their Commitment to end-game content has not been there. As far as MMOs go its an excellent early and mid-game experience but falls off a cliff as you reach max level and GS, then turns into a boring grind with little to no reward for the time you commit to the game.

Honestly, I think the damage done by the expansion is far more than losing trust or not giving people incentive to buy it. For those like me who looked at it and didn't think it was worth paying for, it actually created a barrier to re-entry for the whole game since the previously endgame content seems to now be off limits or at least would put me at a disadvantage. This was a choice they made, not all mmo's do that. I understand not having access to new stuff, but it feels much more than that. As a result, it's kind of like a bad expansion is worse than no expansion at all.

How to fix new world thread: My 12steps: 1. Add swimming (for the love of god the game takes place on a island) 2. Add sailing (Something similar to black desert) 3. Add 2-4 weapons per year (Adding like 1 a year is terrible and not enough) 4. Flesh out the current weapons the game have. (This gives weapons more variety. 2 specs per weapon is not enough) 5. Add new zones 6. Make the fashion in the game much better 7. Flesh out pvp. (I know yall are tired of the outpost rush map) 8. Fix progression (when theres nothing to do, people leave) 9. Make the game F2P ( Bring in some new blood. It'll repopulate the world. People don't want to get into a mmo that's perceived as dead) 10. Continue fleshing out life skills and continue to add newer ones. (instrument playing was an excellent start) 11. Make more extracurricular activity ( Theres nothing in the world to do besides chest runes and portals. Where are world bosses, world events, map completion etc. something like ESO or GW2) 12. Keep plugging away at QoL updates, Bug Fixes, and that Jank. 13. Thats all i got :) Let the replies commence.

I have lost hope when they released the paid expansion. They always focus on other aspects of the game that didn't even matter. Lack of end-game content and the constant bugs killed it. Thank you for the memories, New World.

I've been playing since launch (and played the OG PvP version), and spent quite a bit of real money in the shop for cosmetics to support the game. I quit immediately after they announced having no new content for the next six months. I've been supporting the game for a long time. Zero plans to come back at this point, especially considering all of the top-notch indie games currently available. Sorry, AGS - not having new content for this long, when the game is already short of content, is absolutely ludicrous. Still no new OPR maps or other game modes. You blew it and now you're going to need a miracle to get people back in significant numbers. Especially with games like Ashes and Dune: Awakening coming.

I dont hate NW i just can't find anything to do,and the things to do feels like shores instead of game and fun wich is the point. For example:every day i log in Make the cooldowns Wich they take a while if i dont have mats Second do the 3 faction contracts to buy the chromatic seal The whole game is playing to catch up with the new content but its no actual content. Took me a year to get everything to 200 now i still have to work to get everything to 250 and then in the next expantion i have to probably catch up again and again its just stupid takes too much gold and time,i rather use that time for real content or for another game
