Hey guys, I made this to discuss the common theme I have been noticing lately on the Forums, and on Reddit, people claiming they spend hours and hours farming, yet only have 6k coin, or 8k coin.. This is completely impossible, unless they are wasting it, or not taking advantage of the ingame ways to make coin!

I think the thing is every thing is used for something. So farming u have choice of sale or use to level craft and or upgread your own gear. This is what keeps me at low gold. Its an up hill battle until you are at a point when you dont need anything anymore. There is no sure fire way yo make thousands in short time unless you farm that stuff and sale. Btw i farm the stuff you talk about all the time and i will do it for over an hour and after the sale make about 600.. that is not good value

Wondering if you use the gear associated with said farming. For example, harvester set for fiber, skinning for rawhide etc?
@thenumberonebeaner22112 жыл бұрын
@@eyedulhands this is another thing. I've spent about 30 hours farming this week, but I don't have any gear sets. I use the T3 proficiency pot (that's the highest I can make) and the yielding song for myself. Many times I'm running into empty spots because someone comes along and does the 1 hit farm. All my mats have gone into leveling my professions, and I'll make about 300 gold from killing the mobs I encounter. But even then, 4 hours of farming only add up to about 5 levels of profession skill. I have gotten a lot of gathering crates, but I've been using those to make the legendary mats. I finally finished my 600 gs winter fest craft recipes 2 days ago.

Being said farming globs also allows me to test various gear setups doing it solo and in a groups. As DPS now I'm pretty much confident about perks I want for the most of the situations in dungeons like cleaning mobs with good/bad healer/tank and doing max dmg to the bosses. Using right armor/jew/weapons/skills/perks now allows me to farm globs anytime solo with 5 con without dying 9 out of 10 pulls :-)

Love your content and it has helped me out a lot over the course of playing the game. Having said that though one issue that I have with this type of video is that almost every single content creator says something like you did, “a super casual player who only has 3.5 hours a night and weekends to play”. I believe that this is a highly unrealistic estimate on what time a casual player has to devote to gaming even if you assume this is the only game you play. According to steam spy (not sure how accurate this is) the median play time in the last two weeks was about 10 hours, so at least 50% of the player base are spending around 40 mins a day playing. Those of us who can’t play as much will always have less than those who can in games like these which is just the way it works.
@5HeadSurvivalGaming2 жыл бұрын
40 minutes play time per day in this style of game will really make it tough to accomplish anything :/ In an interview with a dev on WoW about 4 years ago a guy asked him a question at blizzcon.. " do you have any advice for people who can only play an mmo for 1 hour a day".. and his response.. stick yo phone games :/ that sounds rude, and I do not mean it to be, but the reality is in some cases it might take 30 minutes jsut to get people organized to run an expedition :/

The first recommendations are really good and new players should definitely listen to these recommendations, but around the middle of the video the recommendations are more suitable for advanced players (still good recommendations), but it will not be easy (or impossible) for new players to do the dailies (asmodium, phoenix weave, etc.). Also, to average 1.5 golden scarabs per day you have to visit every chest, particularly the acid ones, which again it is very difficult for new players. I would add to these recommendations to find something you like and find a way to profit from it. For example, if you like fishing and you are a beginner go to windsward and try to catch catfish then sell the whiskers. If you are a rabbit hunter sell the high level meat. There are ways to profit from nearly everything you do in the game. Another piece of advise is to avoid filling buy orders, as a new player this is tempting, but your time invested is worth much less, sometimes half as much as waiting for the sell order to go through. I strongly agree with the video that trophy runs are a waste of time unless your luck level is high, but you won't reach a good luck level until you have played for several hundred hours. I personally find these runs boring and monotonous, which is why I tend to buy the trophies, but that is just me.

I do not understand why people would be 60 and not max refining, I mean even smelting is so easy, 0-50 - make 705 charcoal, 50-100 - make 453 gold ingots..100-150 - make 525 starmetal ingots, then 150-200 take yor time, but still only requires making 818 orichalcum ingots, wich sell decent so you end up with more coin then you started with :/

@@5HeadSurvivalGaming It isn't maxing the skill that is the issue doing the "dailies" it is getting the materials, whilst making it worthwhile. At current market prices It would be a significant loss to but the raw materials, which also means if I farm I am better off just selling the materials than refining them. Admittedly my numbers assume 0 extras, but as a new player I only get about 10% extra from refining most items and I am pretty sure that even allowing for the additional refines still wouldn't make a profit. Don't get me wrong, I am happy I cam make enough farming anyway, and will soon be able to start buying the gear to make things more efficient (At the point of trying to decide which to focus on first). I just wanted to back up Claudio's argument that the dailies are not really new player friendly.
@travellingslim2 жыл бұрын
The concepts in this video are certainly the best takeaways but for the raw resources your results will vary per server depending on how many bots are there. One tip I would add is instead of timing out one whole hour of a method, do it for 10 minutes and multiply it by 6. Sure it won't be totally accurate, but you'll get a good ballpark and can test 5-6 methods in an hour so the next go-around you can hone in on the most profitable ones to see how you do and weed out the seriously underperforming methods, especially if you don't have a ton of time to play. My method, being a lover of dungeon running, is to sell gear and weapon drops. So many people just automatically salvage anything non legendary or that doesn't work with their build. For anything that's Bind on Equip (purple or gold), take the time to look up those exact perks, weight, slot, etc. on the trade post and see what they are listed for. Over time, you will learn what perks and stats are desirable or in short supply and the process will be quicker. At least on my server, it's typical that I will make at least an extra 1-3k per run off of random purples I get, sometimes way more if a desired legendary drops. Of course this not only applies to dungeons but any content that drops gear.

Some good advice in there for sure, just wouldn't say the majority of it is really "new player friendly" Agree with the start of the vid but as it gets into the later stages I feel that the majority of the content mentioned is for mid-late game players rather than new players, max refining skills, max level, endgame zone chest runs etc. Also prices are very off compared to some servers, take the cooldown mats for example (which you later say don't sell anyway cus you're being merched so not sure why you'd even include them in the first place) asmodeum on my server would net 1.7-2.3k and that's the most expensive cd mat on the market. Runestone is at a whopping 47 low for some reason. I also don't agree that it's "just 2-3 hours a day" when you are including crafting cooldown mats while also stating that you've not touched the market yet since those require multiple hours to gather the mats themselves to craft them, especially on more populated servers where resources like ironwood/wyrdwood/ori(maybe not as bad)/lodestone are going to be hard to gather as they're so heavily farmed.

I love your videos, and have been following your crafting videos to leveling trade skills. But I think this one misses the mark for a lot of players, especially those of us new to the game in the last few months. I’m a super casual player, no company, only one house, and there’s no way I can put in 3 hours a day. I’m lucky if I get that on the weekend. Add that to not having maxed trade skills, and there is a lot of money referenced in this guide that isn’t available to me. Now whatever farming I do I have to balance with keeping the items for my own leveling, or selling them to buy back later for leveling or having to farm again. I sit between 8k and 20k based on whatever I’m able to sell from my WT runs or dungeons to break up my farming monotony. Then I buy the items I don’t want to farm, like snail slime or other items higher farmed on my server like iron wood. A lot of us just aren’t to this point yet where this money is “easy” if you put the time in. We either have money or continue growing our characters. This feels more targeted to those players with maxed trade skills, full houses with trophies, gathering gear, etc. I’ll put this in my saved videos for down the road though.

Daily CD's require materials. They aren't free coin. You either need to farm for those materials or buy them from the market. That will significantly reduce the value of those cooldowns based upon other oppourtunity costs. It's also very server dependent. There's also the effect of RMT on the server, which is rampant in game. I've found personally farming T1 and T4 materials the simplest use of time and effort for coin.
@5HeadSurvivalGaming2 жыл бұрын
it takes almost no time to farm 50 of each tier 5 material, you can do that while doing any simple activity..
@5HeadSurvivalGaming2 жыл бұрын
And with refining bonuses , the reality of the tier 5 materials you need to farm for is more like 30, not 50 , so it is still a significant profit

I don't know if they are from a gold selling outfit or what but there are characters that do BS and RW chest runs 24/7. With the increased trophy mat drop rate and these types running all the time the trophy mat prices have taken a nose dive. Add to the fact that the new incoming player base who would be in the market for trophies is stagnant. Major Amouring can be had for 20k. Right now the best market is consumables. It's not a big 20k pay out but it's a steady reliable income.

Honestly it’s not hard to make coin. So many reddit posts about this lately haha. Hit trees to 10 mins, make planks and or lumber. It’s high demand. Even the cactus flesh is going for 1g per on our server because of the T5 desert sunrise. Spend 10 mins in the TP, look at what is easy to get, spend 30 mins farming then go play the game. Do dungeon faction quests like Tempest - 285 per mission, plus you get gold in the dungeon with named items you can upgrade that you don’t have to spend money on. Some of that gear is pretty neat. Just take 10 mins of your 1-3 hours per day (or even week!) to study the demand of items. Choose the easiest to farm then enjoy yourself afterwards! Stop spending money on useless crap! Be as self sufficient as possible. Say you’re queuing for mutations, go hit some iron while you wait. Really want trophy mats? Join the Ebsonscale ECR once a day or multiple if you’re feeling bored. Takes 10-15 mins tops. You might get lucky. If not, you now have reagents to refine with. Or you know, sell them. The random gems you get from crates are worth a bit depending on the mutation rotation too.

The unfortunate thing is that servers that have a lower playerbase suffer drastically from the prices of these cooldown items. Doing resource cooldowns + event coins + portal coins + faction missions is only 5,000g on the high end, closer to 4,500g. Rawhide is around 900g/hr, Fibers are 600g/hr, Stone is at 550g/hr, Green Wood is at 650g/hr. Golden Scarabs are almost under 1,000g each. None of them are great value for your time unfortunately. Yes, you can still make gold, but it does take at least twice the amount of time on lower pop servers than high pop servers. At that point, it almost doesn't feel good to sell anything and instead just horde it all until they decide to merge fresh start servers again and again to get things closer to the pop cap. I do like where this video is going though! Just wanted to comment from a server that is barely hitting 1000 players peak a day.

I will just first say its not a bad video, but could still be even more towards new/casual players. Biggest thing for new players from this is, farm, just find good gold/hour things to farm and you will make gold. You can sell just the basic materials or refine them. You might find out that its more worth to farm, refine and make dailies for sale. Or even that you can buy the materials for your cooldowns and make money without farming at all. One thing this video is definitely missing. Is simply doing dungeons and outpost rush. Would say two big things people do to enjoy the game. Which both give gold. Not maybe much, but point being you can also do "more fun" things and still get some gold. Then more back to video. -I still don't personally like you blabbering numbers without having them edited on the screen. Specially when you say something like "about 38 869" when you could at that point just round it to at least hundreds if not even thousands. -Dailies are nice, but even some of those might not be worth the time. Like faction guests. Because I think 6k gold per hour is achievable just farming basic materials. Which means 100g/min or maybe better think 500g/5min. So if your not doing a faction guest in 5 min is it worth? Kind of not, but of course its part of the game and you should at least take expedition guests if your doing a expedition. Might as well, free money. -Related to above, I personally don't think Scarab/Brimstone chest runs are good for new or some extend for old players either. Its basically a gamble. If its 1,5 scarabs, 4500gold per hour run, then you would "need" 1,5k from the rest to match simple farming. -Also not quite sure which time spend you really ended up for casual players, but at 7:22 you say about: "log in for 2 hours per day and did your dailies". Which isn't casual at all. Maybe from hardcore/veteran MMO player view it is, but otherwise not. Or if you include the having fun part into that time then maybe, but I am also pretty sure that time didn't really consider the time spent gathering the materials for daily refining. Which I would argue brings the time up quite a bit. Easily like 20min per material. So 5x20min = 100min (1,6h). If you get 8k selling those it wouldn't even be the best use of time and I think it really would take more time. But well, each can try and see how much time it takes from them. (server population and what not affect too of course so...) The things above might not be in the most sensible order or mention all that I did catch from the video, but that does remind me. That the video itself its kind of messy too. If nothing else I would add timestamps so its easy for people to skip back and forth to different places easily, like "daily portals", oh! let me see what was that thing again and how much gold is it. Or/and in the end having a list of the different things: "-Scarab run, 1h, 4,5k + possible other sellable -Asmodeum, 20min, 2-2,8k -Portals, 5-10min, 1k....." So people would have the info easier findable and some kind of starting point. Of which they need to do their own time counting, what it would take from them to do the scarab run or how long to farm for asmodeum and how much is it worth on their server etc.

As a veteran MMO player, but a new player to New World, I have some insights on what you're missing on the New Player experience when it comes to gold making. First, New World is terrible at guiding the new player to what they need to to to make a living in this game. Take the faction board tasks. The game does NOT do a stellar job at letting you know when factions even become available, let alone how crucial this functionality is to the game when it does. I had to search how to join a faction because I was level 35 and still hadn't seen how to join one yet. Once I did, I saw lots of veteran players saying they had to figure this out too; that's pretty flawed game design that a crucial game feature isn't readily available to the player base, especially new players. In addition, it took me 2 weeks after that to figure out how the Faction Board worked with the 3 daily task rewards. New World does not do a good job at showing its new players how its own features work. Take FFXIV for example (yes, I do realize the game has been around for over a decade and a half longer), it has the same feature: 3 factions you choose from that has both PvP and PvE functions for crafting, gathering, gear, reputation, and grinding purposes. The game introduces you to this function in the MSQ, it guides you through all three factions and at the end of the quest chain you choose which faction you want to join, at which point it becomes side content thereafter. Easy. Not only that, FFXIV has pop-up windows when it wants you as a player to know crucial information such as "make sure to come back daily to do this content for special rewards". It makes sure to let you know when you unlock certain content that you're aware what you're unlocking. Again, I know New World is extremely new compared to FFXIV, but for New World the faction quests are far more crucial to its systems than FFXIV, yet the way they are implemented and introduced to the player, they treat it like side content. My point here with all of this is new players may not be fully aware of all the features, rewards, and systems you're talking about. When you say you struggle to understand the posts of folks who are struggling with making money, I don't think you understand how some new players are introduced to this game. New World introduces itself to new players (speaking from experience) as a farming simulator. Without any guidance from the game, it essentially tells players that farming resources and crafting IS THE WAY to make money. Can't make it yourself? You got to buy it from the market. Can't buy it from the market? Find something on the market you can sell so you can buy it. Especially because the online community excessively makes posts about how to manipulate the market for money, that's the exact sentiment new players get from this game. As a new player myself, and as I indicated above, New World itself doesn't show players how there are innate systems in place to passively earn money. It doesn't do a great job showing where you can earn money easily with easy chores. I think something else you fail to see is in the daily refining and how new players may not so easily be able to commit to this. The reason being: reagents. It takes a lot to refine to get your refining skills up to the level you are at (I think advanced players like you don't always remember what it was like to be a starting player), and the cost of refining reagents. I am often struggling with this because I have to take time to either do ECRs, or find ways to earn money to buy reagents off the market (again, it always comes back to the market with this game). I don't have a character with a vast amount of resources at my disposal, so when I see some of these "easy" tips you mention, it does get frustrating, because I have limited resources. What's worse, when I hear you, a veteran player saying you struggle to understand the comments of why new players struggle, it strikes me that you aren't considering how the game is designed vs. how new players are being indoctrinated into it. You clearly know the game, that's great. But maybe instead of taking the stance of "players are wasting coin", "it's impossible for players not to be making money", etc. this isn't helpful to new players (I have limited gold because I am often doing things such as buying my first house, trying to improve my gear, attempting to pay into improving my refining, crafting, etc. so I can supposedly start making money because as I mentioned, the game is designed in such a way that I was lead to believe that this was the way to do it). Frankly, this is counterproductive. If you want to help new players, I encourage it, I welcome it. However, I want to highlight the contrarian nature of what you're doing. I thought it was great at the beginning of your video how you highlighted that the broader New World community only offered money making tips for experienced players: thank you, I agree. But, to then go into critiquing new players the way you did, didn't make sense. As a new player, I wasn't even aware of some of the daily chores you mentioned, but my limited finances in the game are because of poor game design, and poorer community communication on how money is made. I think you need to reflect better on how the New World community should be attempting to guide the new player experience. If you want the game to grow, you all need to find a better way of helping new players find success.
@5HeadSurvivalGaming2 жыл бұрын
If you start at the beginning and do the tasks you have to do in order to hit the ground running almost everything you mention is not a problem, especially now with reagents no longer being of any issue at all, considering now you can use 1 reagent, where when I and other older players started we had to go to level 60 zones and farm specific area;s for them. I have posted many video's this is not the only one, , and every thing you mention here I have addressed in those video's, I can assure you I miss nothing.. I have a video on how to stock pile reagents, and at no point did I critique new players, I mentioned people posting on the forums that after weeks of playing they could not make coin in new world beyond 6k .. weeks of playing, by that point your no longer a new player.. If you go back through my video catalogue you will see clearly again, that i left things out of this video because i have covered them hundreds and hundreds of times..

Saying that I am being counterproductive, not sharing information, making assumptions, this is all just flat wrong, what you have done here is basically the same as someone watching episode 106 of a 500 episode series, then saying this is counterproductive, this show did not explain the plot, or introduce me to the characters, before you make any assumptions about me or my content, or what I try to do to help newer players, you may want to go back to sept 2021, and start watching my over 700 video's covering everything from where to get reagents, how to refine, where to gather, I even have video's on the tools you use in game covering not the endgame ones only, but even the flint
