Amazing! In the mid 60's we ran a STOCK class (stock Champion motor, brass tube chassis) on a King track. The banking after the straight was higher but the rest was flat. We had around 20-30 drivers show up for the Fri night races. A really good time was around 4.5 seconds. Progress and hotter motors

The cars were 1/24 scale, the tires were probably 50% larger diameter, 1/2 as wide, the car twice as tall,and who knows how much heavier. I don't remember there being a minimum weight limit and no one had super light cars because they didn't give the tires enough traction.

That really sucks! That's not slotracing that's a reaction contest, no beautiful cars on a diorama racetrack just a computer watch and a reaction test device ....

Curved corners.
@mortensen1961 Жыл бұрын
The bodies are shaped like a doorstop, barely 1 inch high. They also have .005" Lexan side dams that are about 2 1/2" high, as well as a .005" Lexan spoiler at the back. The track is also "glued" (tire traction compound) in the corners to keep the cars on the track at 110+ mph. . .

This track has ALL of its corners HEAVILY BANKED. OF COURSE you can go noticeably faster on IT as opposed to a king with flat corners
@crazylarryjr2 жыл бұрын
I've raced on both, the banked one is a lot more fun, but the flatter one is more strategic. When people start talking king tracks i ask flat or banked.
