Well, you talked me into the Altmill, and I upgraded to the spindle, small and air cooled but more than adequate for my goals. Bad news is, it won't arrive until December. Now I'm just watching your videos. (learning from your expertise)

I'm hoping my ball screws on all axis makes my small interpolated holes as smooth as what I'm watching here. At the day job, I get work orders with, f'rinstance, .1935" diameter holes +/- .002. The rack and pinion X and Y rails make for some chunky tolerances. Although I won't ask that much finesse of my finished products, I might, as you've been doing, improve the function of my machine, and there I'll want tight tolerances.

((I saw what you did there. Yeah, there's been days when I chased the bit around the last pass, with my fingers pressing the material, keeping the 1/8" ply from fluttering and wrecking an hours work.))

@@roblmurphy4135 the installation for my prototype x gantry ATC rack started with the the support arm. It required me to redo my X and Y axis homing sensors, and after that I recalibrated all axes again - parallel, square, coplanar, checked accuracy of distance travelled. I want to make a few new test cuts and check the dimensions with my digital calipers. Hopefully I can once again be getting acceptable tolerances.

Okay, I'm stumped, and I'd swear I already learned and forgot the answer: What is FPT? Also, watching you thread a hole around 13:40, I see my goals of designing and building a shower head, a safety razor, and a door lock aren't so far fetched after all.
