Hi Paul excellent video on news year day happy new year the weather looks awful and the waves you filmed were excellent and excellent camera footage on the sea waves on blackpool promenade and listening to waves is so relaxing and I thought the sea defences were great to keep the waves out I can remember one the waves nearly flooded the Craig y don hotel and the other promenade hotels and years ago the old uncle Tom's cabin was right on the promenade and with the bad weather it fell into the sea and blackpool tower is survived in all weather's she so strong is blackpool tower and excellent footage on central pier and lolly sticks and the beach is full of seaweed and cant wait to see the changes this year in blackpool and the Christmas by sea is excellent event and will be back again in blackpool and blackpool will have a excellent season this year and excellent footage of the Christmas by the sea and wow what a excellent footage of the tower and can't wait to see the heritage trams this year they are better than new trams I love old heritage trams are back and blackpool will have the old trams running for years to come and can't wait to see the old police station and family courts getting knocked down not now and the Hackett's York house hotel far side towards the cliffs hotel was the white lodge hotel I think in 2002 dale Hackett bought the white lodge hotel knocked it through so sad to the hotel gone and thanks Paul excellent video all The best pal for this year thanks excellent video take care pal from Keith 👍👍👍👍👍

My advice to your good self or anyone else would be: for your own safety never walk along that lower promenade when the tide is so high and crashing over the sea wall. There`s no knowing how high / how powerful the next wave could be. I was living in Blackpool when the tragedy outlined below took place in 1983. BBC - Blackpool police officers' drowning tragedy recalled The news article is dated 5th January 2013 - and was commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the 3 Police officer`s tragic deaths (plus of course, the owner of the dog - after he`d jumped into the sea to try to rescue his dog) We`re now approaching the 42nd Anniversary of this tragic incident on the 5th January. Some might say: there`s a difference between jumping into the sea as against walking relatively close to it at high tide, BUT IS THERE? If you google the BBC news 2013 news article you will notice (as I did) how it states the following :- (Quote): This year's memorial service comes just under a week after Paul Morris, 41, was swept into the sea while walking his dog, two and a half miles away.(End quote) So there must have been another tragedy in 2013 involving a man who was merely WALKING HIS DOG. By 2013 I`d just moved away from Blackpool, hence I don`t know the circumstances of that story - but it very much sounds like he was walking his dog too close to the sea and got swept away. So please Paul stay well clear of the lower prom during these high tides. Rest assured, I feel certain all of us subscribers would much prefer you video the high tides safely & at a very safe distance - rather than become the subject of a tragic accident in the Blackpool news. You do capture brilliant footage, but the sea is so unpredictable and there`s no knowing how high the next wave over that wall will be. Wishing you a very happy, safe and peaceful 2025.
