I grew up in a household that was extremely messy. It didn't have a coat closet, so from the front door throughout the house, it was so messy that I didn't invite friends over. As time and households changed, the mess was spread out, so it wasn't as bad by the time I married and moved out I could say goodbye to my mom's mess. After I married, I found myself living next door to my mother-in-law, who was extremely neat. Now, I was able to change the bad habits I learned growing up. As I've aged, I have attempted to keep up the cleanliness, but my husband doesn't agree with the idea of decluttering so there are areas that I would like to whittle down. I do have to say, though, that my husband helps immensely with cleaning due to some health problems I have. I do have to say that my son, who lives where my in-laws lived, has great cleaning habits, so something i did helped him .Again, thank you for being a blessing and inspiration. May God bless 2024.

Dear Robin….Another great video. As per some of the other comments, I grew up in a family of ten, I was third to the oldest, we grew up on a farm and our house was always messy. So growing up I was the one who cleaned the house and worked hard to help my sweet momma do as much as I could. I think I drove every one crazy because I couldn’t stand all the mess. In fact my youngest sister said that she wanted to run away from home because I guess I got onto her about her room. I am not perfect now as I am older and I can let things slide a little. Hi Lisa, I watch a channel where the lady has chronic fatigue syndrome. When hers' flares up she uses the "commercial" cleaning. Whenever a commercial comes on TV she gets up and does something little like put water into here sink then next commercial she washes them. Just doing a little cleaning each time can help you get some things done. Rome wasn't built in a day. Have a blessed week.

I never dust my kitchen, I with down every thing with a cleaner weekly. I have the same duster!! I love it and it works well I have had mine about 8 years and I shake it really good out side and even haVe been known to put it on the outside close lines.. I truly do not mind cleaning and taking care of the house. Bite size chunks are really helpful!

Hi Robin! Happy New Year! Great video. I've watched all your videos for the last couple years but its good to be reminded of some of your housekeeping tricks. I did purchase the oven liner and have a good tip for cleaning the oven racks. Put a couple inches of hot water in the bathtub and then place the racks inside along with a dishwashing tab and let them soak. I place mine on a rubber shower mat but a towel works great as well. The grease comes off very easily and after a quick scrub, they're shiny clean.

Love this video. I found decluttering our home has helped me keep my home tidy. I did a big declutter last year and just keep up with regular decluttering in between to manage what comes in as a family. However, watching your videos has helped me find a cleaning routine because even though I find my home easy to tidy up I struggled with managing time to clean my home in between part time work and family commitments. Now I'm finally getting into a daily and weekly cleaning routine and starting to do zone cleaning. And not getting overwhelmed with it all.

I would not consider myself a slob but I just did not keep up; interesting that at work I was very organized and neat; I also have the thing for neat drawers; but things like making up the bed or hanging up clothes was never part of my up bringing; though I will say whenever I am expecting company I always pick up and clean before anyone gets here. When I look back to my childhood , I really don't know how am I so organised and tidy. I guess I was missing it without realising it. Great tips. When our knobs were in the front of the stove, the self-cleaning burned them. In our next one, the bottom heating element busted after a couple of self-cleaning cycles. I'm better at organizing than cleaning. I often have to wash a dish twice because I missed something. I've always been organized. When I was young I disliked sharing a room with my brother and sister. Brother had his toys everywhere and Sister had her clothing everywhere. I regularly purge what isn't being used. I even organized our father's desk, but then my Brother sold Dad's nice pens to his school friends.

Robin, thanks for the tip on oven cleaning. I tried the dawn powerwash and stainless steel scrubby and now have clean (not perfect) oven racks that had long been neglected for not knowing a good way to deal with them. Yes I recently cleaned my oven racks after years of neglect. I used dawn power wash and sos pad to clean the one rack but haven’t done the other yet. It was a BiG job plus it is an old Viking non-self cleaning range with an attached shelf/vent hood. I don’t have any clue how to clean the vent which is about 30 to 40” above the electric elements - work in progress - in time it will be clean! My dad has been mentioning for years he wants to get rid of it (was my grandmothers she got through an exchange with a friend - they swapped ranges in 1974 when she moved into the house I am in which isn’t mine; now my dad’s) for a newer (as in something he got at a garage sale years ago) I keep telling him why replace what ain’t broke. Because a few times he exchanged something that was working and the replacement broke down!

My mom was a bit of a neat freak as well. If she saw I left a catalog or magazine on the footstool, she'd ask "what would the neighbors think if they saw that?" I'd always answer "they'd think I was reading the magazine before they arrived." I'm not so concerned about what the neighbors think, but did grow up to appreciate a fairly neat home. And I'm not as stringent about it as Mom was, but I do try to keep things put in their proper place. I enjoyed the longer video, Robin, even tough it was a compilation. Naturally messy 😊. When I was single, I came home to my apartment and the door was ajar. Got my neighbor and we slowly entered my apartment. She exclaimed “My God! You’ve been Robbed!” No …I said. I just haven’t cleaned in awhile 😂😂😂. Grew up to be a better housekeeper and people always remark what a neat house I have. My Mom and Dad were both supper neat and clean,for many years, I didn’t keep a clean house. As I got older I got much better it keeping my home clean and I like my stuff to be organized. Im retired now and my house is usually clean enpigh for company at any time

So much to love here! I, too, grew up with a very organized neat-freak mother, but I did not inherent that gene! She would tell me to clean my room but assumed that I knew how so I just stuffed everything in the closet. I still struggle but I'm on a decluttering mission this year which will help. Also, we have the same Lenox fine china as you and although I don't use it often, I do put it in the dishwasher and it does fine. Quick question : where did you find your master bed headboard? I love it!

Our floors are engineered hardwood and we are loving them! They are Tuftex by Anderson and ours is Imperial Pecan in the color Fawn. They are super durable and I highly recommend them. I wish you all the best for your future fixer-upper! 😄🩵

Hi Sue! Our bathroom mirror was installed by the previous owners of our home. I don't have any information to share - there isn't even a visible brand name. Sorry about that! Robin, I watched about half of the video and decided to go ahead and comment now before I watch the other half. I do believe strongly in having a tidy home. It makes all the difference. My home may not always be real clean but it’s always tidy. For instance when I got home from church today I had to stop to pick up HEB curbside and I had groceries all over the kitchen. Also had taken off my church clothes and just put them on the bed. After I had lunch I certainly wanted to lay down but I set the timer on my watch for five minutes and believe it or not I got all the groceries put away in that five minutes. Then on the way to lay down I hung up my church clothes. I also believe in cleaning the kitchen as I cook. Sometimes I’m not successful at that but most the time I am. I think in my head I just keep thinking I don’t want this big mess accumulating. I have not been able to use my mothers beautiful China that she left me. and if I did I definitely would not put it in the dishwasher. Does your China seem to be holding up in the dishwasher? Thanks so much for this video. It’ll be a great one to put up on the big TV as I’m working. By the way please pray for Rachel. She went to urgent care today with 102 fever. They said she had the flu and gave her Tamiflu. As you know we’re trying to do our family Christmas this next weekend but we’ll see how that works out. I would really hate for her to have to miss work already on her second week of work. They gave her a note to stay home on Monday and Tues. Love in Christ 22:59

The area of the cabinet, below the chimney, that’s exposed to heat, steam and greasy fumes from the stove top, I would love to know how you keep that area clean? In my home, With time, just that area has a thin film of grease and I am unable to get it off completely. I hope I was clear about my question. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! I would love to answer you question! To keep my cabinets clean in that area I wipe it down with a damp microfiber cloth regularly (every few days or weekly). Sometimes I also use a mild all purpose cleaner - one of my favorites: amzn.to/3Hcubiq If you have a grease buildup in that area you can try the cleaner, but try a small area first to be sure that it is safe for the cabinet finish. You could also try a few drops of dish soap mixed with water to break up the grease. If there is a thick layer, it may take several rounds of cleaning to remove it all. I hope that helps! ❄️🩵

I have quite a few Norwex microfiber cloths and they require special handling (they recommend with their laundry detergent) when laundering. Thank you Robyn! I have both Norwex and ECloth microfiber cloths. I use regular detergent for both and they are great. I do try to wash them separately to keep them from attracting the lint from our other laundry - but that is not required. Hope that helps! ❄️🩵

Robin I noticed your slicer that you put away in it own container with a few other slicers attachments. I have two s different box graters and a spiralizer, would like to get down to one. I am trying to get more organizer and buy things that are easy to use and take up min space. I have a small kitchen. Do you feel it is worth the price . I looked it up in your Amazon store, I think was around 34. But it also showed one one that also spiraled food . Trying to decide which is the better option. Any suggestions?.

Hi Diane! I’ve had this one for over 6 years. It works great and I do like that it has several blade options all in one, although mine doesn’t have the spiral attachment. I will say that the course grating attachment has a crack. It’s the one that I use the most but it still works fine. I hope that helps! ❄️🩵

Hi Sadie! The mop pad is just lightly damp, so there is no need to wring it out. It’s made of microfiber which captures the dirt. Plus it is machine washable, so I just toss the pad into the machine when I’m finished. 🩵
