ahh felt that so much when you said italy doesn't have much english books! i've been craving to read something (other than stuff for school) so when i recently found two books on my list by clarice lispector and virginia woolf it felt like finding a needle in a haystack hahaha

the wheel of the year book looks so witchy and rooted in nature's cycles 🤩 by the way, your hair looks gorgeos. I kinda have it the same way but i feel like this year i need a change and i want to chop it, but seeing yours makes me reconsider it 🤣

Omg thank you haha! I was feeling lately like my hair needed something, it’s so shapeless sometimes. But I’m working really hard on growing it out 🤭

For Christmas I got so many great books here are a few that I recommend: Agua Viva (of course) by clarice lispector, Sula by Toni Morrison, Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger, few books by JG Ballard, the journal of Anias Nin and some poems by Keats. I love your videos by the way and i'd love to hear more about the novel you're writing

Great vlog as usual. The Safe Keep and I Who Have Never Known Men (you must get it) were in my top 3 books of 2024 (along with The Offing based on your recommendation). The Safe Keep is brilliant and highlights something from WW2 which should have been obvious but I'd never thought about. Spice alert! Chapter 10 is very very hot 😆. I Who Haven error Known Men is dystopian and superb, although the question of where did all the men go never gets answered which did annoy me. Have added Zero Sum, Ghost Wall and Rapture to my, very long, tbr. Thanks for sharing ❤

Have you read The Story Sisters by Alice Hoffman? It’s about three sisters and has magic in it. I love her books.

Happy new year! I have to recommend Underlands by Robert MacFarlane - it was the best book I read in 2024, it’s nonfiction but he has such a lyrical voice and the way he writes about nature in particular is sublime! It’s about everything that goes on underground and you follow him down into caves, Paris catacombes, glaciers etc. It’s incredible!

Hi! Happy New year 🎉 Maybe you already know, but might be useful to someone reading so: as an Italian reader, if you want to buy English books online and not from Amazon I suggest Wordery or Feltrinelli (you can buy and pick the package in store and there is a broader catalogue for English books than the one in store, because depending on where you live it might be just a couple of titles there). Have a nice 2025 full of nice books 📚❤

Hey, i like most of the books you read so thank you for this 😊and I want to return a a favour in a recommendation. A really good book, that is not well known, but for me its On the same level as graf Monte cristo is Consuelo by George Sand. I usually don't read books twice, but this is the only one i did.

@quirinebrouwer Ah, true that! But you know I'd say it's the kind of book you can take forever to read. One or two pages a day. Just for one's own self. But also because It IS that kind of a book. 😊

@ kinda similar to most books that feature women choosing to flee to religion disguised as men so as to avoid wifedom and motherhood. I didn’t know much about pope Joan so that’s working in the books favour but It is slow paced but written well, (I do not like the romance in it) so it’s feeling like a 3 to me.

I really like Throne of Glass, it's much better imo 😌 it's more focused on world building, even though it feels younger. I'm currently reading The sea of Unspoken Things, as well as The Real Ones
