I love all your dolls. And as a 12 year old I would probably play with them nicely instead of keeping them on a shelf.

That is indeed a Mod PJ doll. The first PJ was released in 1969 as a talking doll only & came in a pink minidress which is one of my favorite mod era fashions. The second PJ was a regular twist doll & was released a year later in 1970 in a pink one piece swimsuit.. as far as I know their head sculpts, hairstyle, eyelashes & sunglasses were identical on both dolls, the only difference was the bodies. But, if yours is on a Barbie/midge body (I'm assuming it's straight leg/non-twist) then you probably have the talking PJ head that someone put on an older type body. The reason so many talking doll heads are on different bodies is not only did the talking mechanism stop working but the they were notorious for having limbs that would melt & fall off, especially the legs lol..something to do with the different types of plastic that mattel was using at the time.

I absolutely love you! I’m starting my own Barbie collection again now that I’m old enough to take it seriously! I look forward to developing one like yours! You’ve given me great ideas on how to store the outfits and everything xoxo

Hi Mandi, another great video. The yellow two piece with the mesh hat is mid 70s Barbie. They used that type of hat a few times. I have a red/white dot fashion from I think 74 that has one. Came with a mini skirt and trousers. Now wigs. Fashion Queen was issued with blonde bubble, brunette pageboy and red flip. The following year 64, Miss Barbie came out, the first bend leg with a slightly ghoulish face and sleepy eyes. The wigs for her are a red bubble, blonde pageboy (which can come curled under or with a slight flip) and brunette flip. The hair on these wigs is very course. MB was not a great seller, so FQ was later packaged with these wigs as well as the originals. The wigs were also sold with a Barbie or Midge head. The heads were also used with 65s Color N Curl sets. There were sets that included both heads and 4 colour change wigs, plus smaller sets that just had a Barbie head and two wigs. The fibre on these before lots of colour changing is silky, and they have a centre parting. The Hair Fair sets include a full flip wig in the opposite colour to the blonde or brunette hair pieces. I read some of the wigs were done in red but I've never actually seen one.

Hey, great finds! The second outfit you showed (yellow halter top & skirt) is legit Barbie, from mid 70s- about 75 or 76. You actually scored the rarer yellow variant, the more common one is blue, denim looking fabric. This one was usually sold as part of the Barbie fashion fireworks set from kresque (basically kmart before they changed the name), which was a cheap doll that looked like a pale Malibu Barbie but with straight legs & non-twisting waist, and three outfit variations.

KZbin recommended your Pre-80s Barbie Collection video and I enjoyed watching it! I recently fell in love with the Vintage Barbies from the early 1960s and have started hunting for an original Skipper, Barbie, and Ken. Thank you for sharing! You’re vintage collection is awesome!

Had the Ballerina Barbie circa 1976. She came dressed in a white tutu, white ballet slippers and tiny bouquet of red roses. As far as I can tell looks like her original body.

How nice of you to share! Yes, I have too many dolls. I take pictures then pack them away and enjoy the pictures. I know! Crazy! Yes that is the ballerina body, straight fingers and it's like she's on her tippy toes. The yellow outfit could be a clone outfit. They made a huge amount of clone clothes in Hong Kong in the 70's. PJ head looks like a reproduction to me, hard to tell in video, but might be. Had to watch twice because I was watching your cat the first time! lol! 8:10 hairball threat! OMG she's so precious! OMG outfit with kitties and balls of yarn! LOVE IT!

Mudders Mudder Thanks for the info! That's hilarious about the hairball. She actually has a lot of balance issues and was probably having a hard time standing still. We have to watch and make sure she doesn't take a spill off the couch!

Awww! She's Obviously well loved! I was just trying to ID some of my odd pieces, and came across information about a barbie outfit #7210 On Vacation (1975). It is the same style as your yellow floral halter set, except it was made in denim and hat is different!

I had a talking P.j., Julia, Ken, and 2 Barbies, and they all fell apart during normal play. The body materials were somehow inferior.

Hi Ess Chey! I like the challenge of identifying dolls and clothes myself, which can be very time consuming but also rewarding. Google image searches and eBay are great places to start. I also belong to a few helpful groups on Facebook.

Mandi Rounds thanks for replying! i'm going to look into her a bit more. the one thing i'm shook on is that her hair is REALLY long like totally hair barbie, but she has no bangs. 😖

3:47 That's not a mommy-made. It's a Barbie Best Buy Fashion in the 70's.

i agree with you when it comes to dressing dolls. i have about 17 Barbies and they're all assigned to specific costumes, but i have one *special* doll that i love to dress daily: 1979 First Black Barbie. *i am SO glad you're back!*
