Showing up here because I am a 48yo man and I recently inherited some extremely vintage dolls from my deceased mother. We're talking a couple that are turn of the 20th century, heck maybe even earlier. Some of em are HER mother's dolls, so who knows how old they may be. The roller skates are for Ginny dolls. You can try a Magic Eraser to clean them--they should be white. The dress at 25:49 is also Ginny-size. Poodles like the one you have were often used as prizes for games at State Fairs, etc, I won a large purple one as a kid in New York.

I'm so bummed watching this. I had this as a child, and I don't know what happened to it. Of all my toys lost to time, this is the one I wish I still had. It probably would have been in great condition too, and not missing anything because my mom taught us to take good care of our things. My sister, who's 4 years older had the 1960 Dreamhouse, and she had the good sense to hang on to it. But the 1964 Dream House was so much cooler. I'd forgotten how cool it was till I saw this video. My disappointment in not still owning this is palpable.

Thank you. I loved and cared for mine! Made the mistake of leaving it with my equally well-cared-for Jewel Secrets Barbie at my parents' home in my old room. They handed it, without my permission, to my 3 year old while babysitting. I still feel the stab of pain I experienced when I saw both of them destroyed when I went to pick her up that evening.

Hi! If I may, rubbing alcohol is a godsend for cleaning dolls. Like you mention, a magic eraser basically sands. ( it can cause shine on rough surfaces, and roughen smooth surfaces) Rubbing alcohol gets off SO much dirt, disinfects, and evaporates quickly so you don't expose the doll to a lot of water. ( especially important with these wire core dolls, as water can cause or exasperate the metal corrosion). Rubbing alcohol on the Qtip when cleaning the icky green residue is more productive too ( and again not exposing the corrosion to water). Hope that helps, and keep saving those dolls! :)

Please be careful with your bare hands using the magic eraser, it is carcinogenic.

I love the Steffie face. It was very popular when I was a kid in the 70s. It was the face for my Malibu PJ, Miss America Barbie, Quick Curl Kelley, and my Free Moving PJ. I think PJ kind of took Midge's place as Barbie's friend then.
