Before I moved to London I only saw musicals, but plays have won me over living here, especially in small intimate spaces like the Donmar, Almeida etc

that's amazing! So many amazing theatres!

Tick, Tick... Boom at newly refurbished Theatr Clwyd would be a good opportunity to see theatre in Wales. Tie it in with a trip to Storyhouse over the border in Chester 😊
@AeronJames15 сағат бұрын
Both are high up on my list!

I realise I am biased being Welsh, but I can not recommend seeing theatre in Wales any higher! There are so many Cardiff theatres within walking distance. Id especially recommend the WMC where I've performed and seen nearly all the productions I've watched. So if you can, it would be very cool to see 😊

Do I see Peter Pan this year? It's coming to the CAA Theatre in Toronto in May and I've always been curious.

If you're planning on going to the Netherlands for theatre, you might want to look at Elisabeth the musical! I'm planning on going myself in March. As for Asia, definitely go see a Takarazuka production in Japan! It's an all female theatre troupe, and they've done shows like Phantom, Singin in the Rain, etc.

We've definitely had Elisabeth on our "try and attempt to see" list, just hoping timings might work.

Thank you for these resolutions…mine are pretty simple and I’ve already achieved the first which is to become a subscriber with my favourite theatre company. The second is to see more plays, which wont be difficult I didn’t see any last year 😵. Third is to see more community theatre. Have booked one already so that’s a start!

Yay so glad that you've already achieved one of your resolutions!

I spent way too long on Mezzanine last night logging every show I've seen to date, though I guarantee I missed a few. I absolutely love yourself & MickeyJo, so interesting to see your takes on anything and everything theatre!

I'd love to hear your impressions of the Theatre industry here in Spain this year. There are several very exciting productions coming that I can't wait for. Btw, I discovered and was able to see Two Strangers thanks to the two of you and I adored that show, so I thank you deeply for that.

So glad you enjoyed Two Strangers and so glad we were able to intro you to it! Spain is definitely high up on our list!

Sad but my theatre resolution is to go less this year 😅 I saw close to 50 shows last year and now, with having seen everything that offers rush tickets/lottery... It would financially ruin me unfortunately if I saw so many shows 😂 so any rush/lottery that will become available - sure... But once a month for full price ticket sounds reasonable 🙈🙈 and maybe 1 trip up north for an exciting new show. Manchester or something 😁 also more touring shows which usually offer much cheaper prices and I have 2 theatres reasonably close that are always one of the tour stops 🤗

it's definitely the hardest part being able to manage the theatre love against the finances!

I was in Oslo a couple of years ago and they were advertising a lot of musicals, unfortunately I didn't have time to see anything as I was working but that'd be great to see! I did do a theatre tour of the national theatre there and they also have an Ibsen Museum and the iconic opera house so maybe one for you sometime?

@AeronJames well with Mickey having an "in" with Viginia Gay, and her being the Artistic Director of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, start here in Adelaide in June (also would see a n amateur prod of COME FROM AWAY) and then journey home via melbourne or sydney

Thanks for doing this. Some great ideas. If you go to D.C., you can do Virginia and potentially Maryland because D.C. and northern VA have a lot of theater. Metro goes to northern VA and suburban MD from D.C. Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA is doing In The Heights starting in February through early May. You have Arena Stage and Kennedy Center in D.C. In the spirit of educating, Have either of you done a video explaining UK theater eligibility? What is considered West End? What are the requirements? Etc.
@AeronJames15 сағат бұрын
Thank you and have noted all these awesome tips! Very happy to make an eligibility video (a head's up that it's very confusing!)

@@AeronJames There is also one theater close to D.C. in Bethesda, Maryland - Round House Theatre. It’s not far from a metro stop.
