My word of the year is definitely “ hope “ having hope that everything will be okay and turn out exactly the way it’s supposed to and not overthinking everything!

I’m not really a New Year’s resolution person. I do more of a things I want to work on. This yr I’m wanting to do better about not being excess at the grocery store, and do better about keeping up with my house. One of my goals is to declutter my house. And also get it more organized. Please keep all of us in the path of this winter storm in your thoughts & prayers. I’m in southern Indiana and they are talking about this being possibly as bad as the ice storm of 2009. Being content is definitely hard! And I try to remember that to not compare my life to others but it is definitely hard.

😊❤ I am always excited for a new year, fresh start. I love your word, think I will use it too! It inspired me, I usually don’t pick a word but do reflect on things I want to work on. My word is Joy. I've realized I used to be joyful. I was definitely the life of the party, in a good way. Now life, infertility, financial borders and just life has made me sad and stoic. I want to be joyful, find joy in God and in my life and be content with it all.

I will admit being content is not something I am always good at. It is a good word though. I was thinking of the exact thing you said about St. Paul saying be content with what you have. Don’t feel bad about staying in PJ’s all day. I do it every weekend and did it when I had to work at home in 2020.

😘not for sure how I feel. I always have such anxiety. January is a hard and sad month for our family. But I’m thankful for all God has done for us. I think your word is great. We all should strive to be more content.

Good morning! Love your word of the year! Choosing contentment can be a continually challenge for anyone, especially in ministry life! When my husband was in seminary, I took a Bible study for the wives taught by the president's wife. She always encouraged us to go outside of the walls of our church building to maintain our individual identity, to meet others in the community where we were planted, and to develop deep friendships. So I joined a Bible study at another church across town and I met one of my lifelong best friends. It was so refreshing just to be "Haley" and not just the pastor's wife (even though I don't mind that title, but some people probably don't even know my actual name!). We have a word of the year as a family this year, and it is "favor" and based on Luke 2:52 - "Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people." It's also one of those words I don't necessarily like, not for finding favor with the Lord, but with others. I'm not a "people-pleaser" lol, so I feel like it will be a good challenge this year for us. Blessings to you & yours as you get in the swing of things at home and return to the everyday routine!

Good Morning Jess. After the Holidays it is always a let down. January is so blah. Winter is just so Grey and Dreary for sure. I like your word of the year. We all would love to be content all the time no matter what the circumstance may be. I don't really have word of the year. The kids' Gingerbread Houses are so cute. I am so glad that Layla was OK. My one goal is to continue on my health journey so I can lose more weight. I have kind of reached a plateau and I so want to lose more weight. I think content is a wonderful word choice! I never thought of it as a negative word. In hindsight, my 2024 was content… I struggled in many areas over the previous few years, but last year, thankfully, overall I just felt a joyful peace. My boyfriend’s birthday is 1/10, so I totally get it. I have the brown leather bound Bible Recap and it is basically the video version - except for her personal antecdotes. I still write notes in the side columns of things that stick out to me that didn’t before. I bought mine at the end of 2023 after finishing my first year going through the Bible.
