Happy 2021! I couldn't have survived this year without all of our Chateau families especially as we can't holiday or travel ourselves. Please try to get some volunteers next year when people have had their vaccinations and can safely travel again. There's too much work for just the two of you and it'll be lovely to see the bedrooms/bathrooms and other rooms transformed. Angelina you looked lovely tonight nice to see you both more relaxed. I discovered "Doing it Ourselves," then this one, only recently. I had been following channels that video abandoned mansions and castles, but one day realized how depressed they made me feel! So sad to see these once lived in beautiful places be left to rot with no one to care for them. Watching your videos is so uplifting! You are bringing these places back to life to be enjoyed! We love every aspect of watching your accomplishments individually and as a team at your wonderful chateaux. We want you to show us this process as you move forward. That is the main reason we tune in to your videos. It doesn't matter if it's cleaning the moat drain, mowing, clearing brush, painting, working on the inside or out. All the small accomplishments add up to a beautiful overall project you can personally take pride in accomplishing. Swan house was really good! I liked seeing Angelina take all that Ivy off of the rock stairs. Very satisfying! This year has been very scary for several reasons for me. I started the year off very ill (infection ill) My mother diagnosed with cancer with a month to live. Me very ill again in February (likely COVID). But I’m still here! My dear mother is still here!!!!! I still have my business. Everyone is healthy. I’m so grateful. I grieve for others. But I am grateful. We’ve just got to be here for each other, stay safe, stay well, help others. So many people helped me this year. Your vlog really helped me stay positive. I want to send that positivity out to everyone reading the comments and wish you all well! I hope we get all of our freedom back again in 2021, and I will remain Grateful!

I know I couldn't have done lockdown without you and all the Chateu shows. I didn't stay home, I worked the entire time and could not afford to feel all the fear that kept trying to pop up. You guys kept me still believing that working toward a dream was stronger than even all that 2020 could throw our way. I have always enjoyed taking old or things in need of improvement, and making them better. As a result, I have really enjoyed your videos making your lovely chateau better. Fixing the swan house, getting the outside lighting working, grinding the stumps, the boat, the cart, working on furniture! You guys are doing a great job, and I can’t wait to see you tackle your current kitchen project, the stairs, the render etc.! 5:35. I am watching this 2 years on in December 2022, but I would like to mention that the restoration of the old Swan House was fascinating to watch. I would have just scrapped the whole structure (saving the slate tiles) and built a new wooden one from scratch. Phil's ability to save some of the old wood & even use the old wooden pegs again was quite the achievement. Well done to the both of you on the projects that you achieved during 2020.

Loved the ones of the Swan House repair, working on the kitchen garden, and emptying the moat of overflow water. Visit to the brocante with Billy and the restraint you both showed in not 'buying out the shop'! Your both truly share the work out there! Phillip, when will you continue on the horse box transformation? I would love to see the next steps. Don't ever think that you aren't important to the world! Your optimism through adversity and sharing your feelings helped all of us look inwards and face the outside world with a different outlook - at least on my end. Seeing ducks and wildlife and greenery, running water, streams galloping over stones, problem solving with a smile, taking us on 'road trips' to other chateaux and friends. ALL of those vlogs were important! Angelina, your doggedness to plant whether you had an event or not in 2020 reminded me that the lockdown x 3 allowed me to plant the mixed flowering hedge between my home and the neighbor's - a project I'd been putting off for 6 years due to heavy workloads. It also allowed a lot of us to spend more time outside and work as families. Sharing, discovering each other. I may have only started watching your vlog a few months ago but they have 'lighted' this pandemic with gold - like the highlights Angelina puts on the furniture! Phillip, I have a greenhouse similar to yours and I never leave the plastic cover on in winter. It goes on when the overnight temps are at least no lower than 5C in late Spring. It comes off when the overnight lows dip to 4C in Fall and I've been able to keep the reinforced plastic cover intact. Yes, the zippers are shot but I've been able to replace those with construction vapor barrier zipper closures. Simple and easy! To repair the small holes in the plastic, I've used bathroom silicone caulking around the seams of duct tape - still holding after 5 years. I do this because winters here are harsh with high winds, cold temperatures and heavy snowfall and at times freezing rain. Plastic does not do well in very cold weather - it cracks then rips along any seam. If the weight of the snow is too heavy, it rips with jagged edges. I would suggest getting 12 ml Super Strength Clear Woven Greenhouse Film as a replacement. It stands up to a lot of abusive weather, including high winds and hail. I began watching every episode this year. You've grown so much and provided so much entertainment to soooo many folks. Thank you for that!! It's hard to pick a favorite episode but I like watching a project that is too big for one episode, like the duck house project and even the new room you all are working on currently. To be honest I love a mixture of everything that you’ve done so far, inside the chateau, cooking, outside in the garden and visits to local areas. My favourite was the swan house, but I would love to see you create a permanent greenhouse as the poly tunnel has died.
