if you don’t have a nail drill you can use nail primer to chemically etch the inside of your nail tip. i’m a nail tech who does Gel-X at a salon that’s dust free so we don’t have/use nail drills so we use nail/tip primer. ive had clients whose gelx lasted them 4 weeks. hope this helps someone :)

gel x artist here: - 'blend' ur tips before hand so u dont accidentally cut urself when theyre already applied. use a file or buffer and thin out the cuticle, then apply them. - if the gel spills over when u flash cure, remove it before u cure it in the big lamp by peeling it off. this way, u dont have to file it off and risk cutting urself or ur client

Just did my first set of gel x and your videos helped me so much! I used to do dip but I just can’t commit that much time anymore lol. Your videos have so much helpful info and product recommendations without making me feel like I HAVE to have it for a nice set!

I’m obsesssed with gel extensions now! They’re super strong and don’t look like press-ons. I got the brand of tips you recommended but I just use regular gel base coat instead of Après and it works perfectly too. Love your videos I’ve always done my nails at home too ❤️

@@itskate2991 yess I prep with a dehydrator and primer then put a base coat on my actual nails and cure, then put some on the gel extension nail, stick it to my nail and cure again.

If you don’t have a drill to rough up the inside of the nail tip, you can dip a brush into pure acetone and then scrub the inside of the nail tip and It will give you the same feeling as if you used a nail drill. Or you could just use your primer(not dehydrator) and brush the inside of the nail tip and that also help make your nails last longer. But like you said it’s necessary To rough up of the inside of the nail tip if you want your nails to last up to four weeks.

i’m a blowout specialist so i shampoo people and have my hands in water for up to like 20 times a day. i would always end up wasting so much money at a nail salon because they pop off within the week, but now that i can do them myself it’s so much cheaper and i can have more fun with the designs!

And putting on the fake nail, I find rather than trying to file on the inside of the fake now, I put on a coat of matte finish or matte basecoat. Let it dry fully or cure it! Works very well for me!

It helps the gel bond with the nail, so yes it does last longer and prevents lifting !

And do you like the flash cure light more than the Kiara sky one or the beetle one? And why use the cure light when you cured your nails using the pink Uv lamp?

I dont etch the inside of the tips or my natural nails, i just put the primer on the inside of the nail tips and my natural nails and they stick on FOR SO LONG I have trouble removing them lol. I also skip the layer of gel on the natural nail bed and just put gel inside nail tip and straight onto the natural nail

Hey guys! Instead of a peel off basecoat you can just get your nails oily with cuticle oil and just apply basecoat once it has absorbed ANOTHER TIP: DONT BUFF NAILS WHILE DOING THIS
