Thank you so much I watched every other Video on KZbin and yours is the only one that actually explains how to get these complex things to work with each other. You are the only one that shows how to get the group setting on each device. Thank you so much I think all the others expected me to know more than I did up front. Finally got them set now to learn how to use them this is my first experience with off camera flashes. Exactly. I think I read that section of the manual a dozen times. For some reason, when I was setting the controller to Activate, I kept pressing OK on the CONTROLLER and NOT the flash! Even though it says to press OK on the FLASH. It's weird how you can read something and see what you THINK it means, and not what it actually says. Doh! Thanks Pete for clearing it up. My 560-TX now works brilliantly!

Just bought a Yongnuo YN560-TX and am using it with two YN560-111 in manual mode, got to say they are much more useful than TTL mode. I love them, it means Im using off camera flash with successful results. One point it was very frustrating trying to set them up all the videos on youtube dont through the whole process. For instance I didnt realise I had to be in multi mode.

I already have two 560ivs. Instead of getting a tx, I decided to just buy another 560iv since it does both and may be used as a flash if needed. Love that the 560iv does both tx and rx, S1, S2.

Hi there... thanks for your video, youve answered a question for me. "If i take the YN560-TX off the camera and press "test" flash button ... will it trigger the other flashes" Now i know it does, this will be useful as i could take the YN560-TX off the camera and walk up to subject with my sekonic light meter in other hand, trigger the flashes and not need a sync cord plugged in This would be a good work around for Nikon D500 10 pin connection sockets

Thanks for the video. Once I got the modes set to M and wireless, the controller will adjust the zooms and output. The flashes fire when I hit the test button. But when I mount the controller on the Nikon D5100, nothing! Any suggestions? (The flashes work when mounted directly on the hot show and set to Manual).

I am having a problem with my 3 yongnuo 560 IVs and 560TX. Each are assigned to channel 1 and are in RX mode. Each are assigned to a different group (A, b, c). When I use the 560 TX to turn off any of the groups, those groups act as though they are not turned off and still fire. I have verified that they are turned off by noting "--" on the back of the flashes. Setting power seems to work fine.

Just starting to do off flash camera shooting, but i definitely have a ton to learn specially with no guidance except for videos on KZbin. Hallo. I want to buy this but I'am a Sony user (and I have old Minolta hotshoe)m so i also use and adapter to Minolta/standard Iso flash. I think that it'll work just fine even if I will not control the Flash by TTL. Is it Right?

Setting Group Mode on YN560 III -- For those still having trouble setting group mode, and I believe there are many... Make sure the YN560 TX is on the group letter you want to designate, (or try B if you can't get it to come up even though you haven't set a group yet) and I found it needs to be group letter not currently in use, then hold down the Zoom and Fn keys at the same time to do the initial sync just like Pete shows at 2:18, and when when you go to the YN560 III flash unit and hit OK, the group label should now be on... It will probably show group "A". Hold down the two middle buttons on the YN560 III, or Mode and GRP, and then you can toggle through the groups. Left/right adds the unit to existing groups, up/down will choose a new letter. Hope that helps... It was kicking my A$$!

Cheaper and easier than an assistant ;) Having a helper hold the flash is fine, but they get confused with the settings. I have a single 560-III and need to get one of these triggers. By the way, we are on the same sliver of land. Might be nice to say hi sometime. I'm about 5 minutes from the aquarium up in Motobu. Currently debating on whether to attempt doing weddings. Kinda scary, though the challenge sounds nice (and a little extra cash :).

I have a good Pentax flash that cost 5 x a Yongnuo 560IV. The Yongnuo is in my opinion superior, and now I have the transmitted also I am well equipped. I will dump the older Pentax flash for a new Yongnuo 560 IV at some stage though.

Hi Pete, thanks for posting this great detailed video review! This is a pretty new product and there still isn't a lot of information out there, so this is very useful in helping us all make an informed purchasing decision. Have you tried the new YN560-TX with any Canon or Nikon speedlights? I've read on the DPR forums that the brand-specific versions are only distinguished for enabling the 'flash wake-up' feature. A user reported that Yongnuo is shipping the Canon version even when a Nikon version is ordered (you can tell by the arrangement of the contacts on the YN560-TX). Of course this doesn't matter if you're only using YN560iii flashes, but I also have an SB900 that I'd like to be able to trigger when used with a RF560ii transceiver. Thanks, Pete!

Hi Tim! Yeah its mainly to work with only the yn560III. although it will trigger a couple of other yougnuo flashes you cant control all the settings on your flash like you can with the mark 3. Only trigger them.

Thanks for the great demo. This really is a game changer for budget level users. Just to be clear, this entire remote flash system is non-ttl right? As in, it doesn't talk to your camera's on board flash adjustments; you make all adjustments on the Yongnuo remote controller only.

yes all manual, it only controls the yn560-III flash. I think it can fire the II also but no manual control from the trigger.

DUDE!!!! i didnt even know about this product (oops) but it seems very very very VERY convenient!!! OK HERE is my question.... how well will this work if im in the woods taking pictures?? like whats the range and all of that... currently i use pocket wizards but theyre VERY expensive n all they do is trigger the flahses ... the problem i have with my pocket wizard in combination with my yn560 mk 3 is that after you get so far away (like 50ft) the flash wont fire anymore and when i took it in the woods the distance was even shorter.... i would love it if you give me an idea how this trigger ( the TX) would work in the woods and what is the distance range thank you

Pete is it possible to use the 'high sync hack' on these flash - I've seen a video where its suggested that it can be - plus have you used 'multi' function.

Thanks Pete not sure if Im going to need to often in the North West of England. It involves a camera mounted flash firing on full power flash to another off camera flash on full power set to optical on the slave. Yoy then set your shutter speed to the setting you want.

I'm having some issues setting mine up, so far i've managed to get it to fire but I can't get it to control the speedlights, its changing it on the controller, but the flash is not changing. They are communicating / flashing blue, can you type a little how to setup speel - What or where have I gone wrong? So far I- 1. On the controller pressed zoom + Hz/FN till it read 'Ac7' 2. Pressed the middle button my speedlight 3. Made sure that they are on the right channel. All I can guess is its not assigned to a group, im pressing the MODE and wireless button together, but nothing seems to be happening. Any ideas?

Hmm so you've set your yn560-III into wireless. Have you matched group A,B or C with the controller? That should be about it I think.

The YN560 Mk III and IV are the only ones that are compatible with the YN560-TX. Check out the YN-622 and YN-622-TX (Nikon or Canon).

No worries. Yeah actually im not too sure about the TTL models as I've never tried the Yongnuo ones. Only manual. But you wouldn't necessarily need the 622. I know the trigger in the TX matches those in the yn603's and yn560III's for certain though.

Thanks! Yeah i dont think you can control any settings on the III with that trigger. Only the YN560-tx is designed specifically to work with the mark III speedlites.

I'm trying to control the canon flash through the 560TX but no success so far. Here's the set up I have: Two 560-III working fine with the 560-TX. 1 YN622C mounted on the camera with the YN560-TX mounted on top. One YN622C under the Canon flash. I can fire the canon but can't control it. Any ideas if it's even possible? Thanks again. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cleibe Souza Yeah thats not possible. The TX is specifically designed to work with the 560-III's. While they could trigger other speedlites like a flash connected to a 603 trigger etc.. you wont be able to control the flash output,zoom etc.....

I haven't tried that but you could probably just attach the 603 to your hotshoe then the 560-tx on top of that and fire all the flashes even different models no problem. I think.. Personally I would sell the 560II's and upgrade to the III's though. Less batteries and set up needed then.

***** Thank You. Well I might sell them just nobody wants them here (just because of the 560III and 560-TX :-) )… And if I put 3 flash on a triflash holder they are still useful :-). I ask it because I read somewhere that you have to set the 560-TX to use it with some older trigger OR with the 560III. Which could mean that if I want to set the 560III I cannot fire other flashes with my 602 trigger not even my studio strobes… If you have the 603 you might try it if it is not a big problem. Thanks a lot!!!!!

Does the YN560-TX have supersync? Also, do you recommend the YN560III for someone starting out on flash? I can't choose between Mark II and Mark III, since the only difference I see is the built in receiver.

No supersync, Im not even sure what that is sorry. Yes I recommend the mark 3 even if starting out. Super easy to learn this one.

Supersync is used to go over the maximum sync speed of the flash and camera. It can be done on mostly any camera and flash, unlike HSS. You'll need a trigger that enables it. You are able to have this ability if have the YN-622, but you have better control if you also have YN-622-TX (which like the YN-560-TX, has Remote Manual control).

Ah gotcha. Your able to go over the normal max sync but you'll just get the shutter blocking part of the flash.

Nah only if you pop a receiver on the 580 and only use it to trigger the flash. No control over power etc.

Good morning I follow all your interesting videos with attention. I am an advanced amateur and I am not professional yet and I want to increase my lighting equipment, but I have a limited budget. Already I own two flashes (Metz 50 for TTL and a Nikon SB24 that I use in manual). I don't have a studio and I use to work on location. Can you advise me how to buy? Maybe a single Godox Wistro 180. Maybe a couple of Yongnuo 560III and one transmitter 560TX-, and save money to buy a pair of good stans and other light modificators? Maybe a economic studio kit of flashes ...? Thank you very much.
